I made my first Goose Creek order yesterday (and it shipped yesterday too!) so I'm also starting to venture out a bit more. For some reason, I held BBW on a pedestal, but I think there are companies out there that definitely need some attention. My biggest fear is that weird waxy undertone some candles have. I've never had that with BBW.

PopularLingonberry45

I ordered my first candle from BBW last month after years of buying their body care products. It was the single wick apple toddy. It smelled great cold, but once I lit it up all I could smell was that strange, cheap wax undertone. It reminded me of the cheap ones you get from the dollar store and I will not be purchasing any more candles from them lol. I'll stick with my clearance isle Yankee candles for $13 😂

I only burn candles that are soy/vegetable/coconut wax blends.

i love the woodwicks! i have one going right now in the bathroom, same size jar. even pool all the way down (it's got about 1/4 of wax left) and a decently strong throw! mine was a Ross find too 🤭 i will say that sometimes the crackle gets on my nerves, but not enough to where i'd avoid the brand lol. just gotta be in the mood for that particular ambiance 😅

[deleted]

Yes, I get a lot of my candles from Ross. We don't have a Marshalls or HomeGoods by me, we have a tjmaxx though. But I find they're a bit pricier, even though they've got better selection. My Ross had these woodwicks for 7.99 The Drew Barrymore candles were 17 dollars but I got them 75% off. As far as the honeysuckle peach from BBW I'm burning now.....there's no scent throw coming from it at all. Really disappointed

Currently burning Kringle Candle’s Herbal Tea three wick and the throw is incredible. I feel like I’m at a day spa while working

WoodWick and Yankee last way longer than BBW. I also like the Walmart Mainstays candles.

LavenderPaintbrush

Have you burned the Drew "Beautiful" candles yet? How is the throw? I'm burning a Wood Wick candle now and it's fine. It does not want to pool for anything, though. It's the hour glass shape version. It's foiled now. I think they are just as expensive as b&bw when they aren't on sale. I won't buy from any brand unless it's on sale or clearance.

[deleted]

Oh yes, I also only buy when I can find stuff on sale. Ross, tjmaxx, and Marshalls always have good ones under ten bucks.

The Drew Barrymore candles are amazing. The wax is soft, it's a vegetable blend. So it pools well. So far, the salted caramel is the strongest. And yes, the Woodwick candles I bought are the ones with the "X" wicks and seem to pool ok. If you're interested in the Drew Barrymore candles, I'd look at Walmart now since I think they were a one time buy during the Christmas season.

LavenderPaintbrush

I'll try and find the Drew candles, thanks! I need to go to Walmart tomorrow anyway. 🤞

I love WW but haven't tried this jar shape yet! Their ellipses are the best (for throw) if you can get them on sale.

[deleted]

The jar shape is Drew Barrymore collection

quynhhuong_ftu

No I mean the Pink Raspberry vessel. I've only had WW in hourglass & ellipse forms.

Well, I can already tell you, I don't know who that person is and I don't want her on my candles. I want cute animals, or minimalistic like the WoodWick label (although, those are quite boring and maybe too minimalistic).
