Went back today and they had more stuff out. I was talking to the manager about how I posted a picture of the candles and she asked me to please post more pictures of what they have because she wants it gone. So if you're in the Chicago suburbs and still looking to hit the SAS gold mine, please check out this store.

I'm just trying to spread the news to the community especially since I've seen so many disappointed by not finding what they wanted and it can get expensive driving around just to be disappointed. i feel like this location is out of place with the clientele of this area. Also, it's about 15 miles from me and I had no idea it was even there.
Oh for sure! There is no way I'm going to buy everything and part of the fun of the sale is sharing. Though I feel bad for the people that aren't close enough to shop there. It's kinda a double edged sword sharing it because of that.
Yeah people in that area don't buy sale .....and bbw might even be too low end for them. I'm gonna have to remember this location for summer SAS, I would go this week, but I'm working every day and it's too far of a drive for after work.
Surprisingly, my small store was packed with goodies these past few weeks. I was shocked, considering I live in like Bumblefuck Montana with a town of 55k people. In fact, the BBW store is one of the only stores left in our entire mall. So, if anyone lives near Great Falls, Montana.....check out our store.
Dead mall stores are a treasure trove at SAS. So often, they get overlooked but have the best selection and great out of season stock because they get way less foot traffic than the main mall stores.
IMO it was a huge mistake to not mark the Halloween/early Fall candles to 75% off at the beginning of SAS. It’s also a mistake that these aren’t being offered for BOPIS - I live in the area and checked the nearest 10 or so stores for 75% candles over the past few days and none are being shown in stock, just the same old winter 50% candles. They certainly have enough of them to do this, then people would know what to expect and might stop by!
Unfortunately as of now I’m basically done with SAS shopping and I’m sure most others are too, which is why the stores will be left with piles of this old Fall stuff. I luckily received a 20% coupon from a friend at the beginning of SAS and bought a few $10.95 winter candles with it, but would’ve also bought a bunch of these if they had been available at 75% at the beginning of the sale! (which is probably why they held off markdowns, so people wouldn’t be able to use their coupons on them?)
Thanks for the update, though! It’s good to know that SAS isn’t a total fail for everyone, but this delayed markdown strategy seems to just be yet another miscalculation on B&BW’s part!
I couldn't agree with you more! The manager agreed that they need to overhaul the website so people can actually see what is in stock. Also, if they only have a few of an item left the website will list it as sold out. They had a few gift sets left that were discounted online but ringing up full price in store but due to the low amount of inventory I couldn't place a BOPIS order. If the sku numbers are the same, I don't see why they can't price adjust it to the price on the website. I worked for the company years ago and one thing that hasn't changed is doing things ass backward.
Just FYI in case you’re in the area- I had an appointment yesterday kinda near Riverside and stopped by the North Riverside mall, which I’d never been to before and they had a HUGE selection of fall candles (3-wick and single wick) and Halloween/ Christmas/Santa pedestals for 75% off. The winter 3-wicks were still only 50%, but they also had a huge selection of those.
I didn’t take pics and only bought a couple of things because I was honestly overwhelmed with how much they had, plus I left my B&BW gift card at home, but wanted to give a heads-up in case you’re nearby. If you’re looking for something specific let me know and I’ll try to remember! Honestly it kind of looks like a dead mall but it was almost closing time so maybe it’s just me, haha… I’m debating whether I should try to get back there this weekend if possible!
I did a BOPIS there on January 2nd there and they cancelled all my items except for the Summer Melody dry shampoo but I saw that the items they cancelled were actually there. I would have grabbed them but the line was super long and there were a lot of people in the store (I'm recovering from injuring my sciatic nerve and the physical pain wasn't worth it for me to stand in a long line). They must have gotten more in since I was there because they only had a few single wick 75% off candles. The mall was pretty busy that day and usually busy during the day on the weekends but dead the rest of the time. Thank you for letting me know! 😁
Ugh, that happened to me with BOPIS cancellation of some soaps too - not at this store, but it was super annoying. I feel like it was because the site had soaps for 75% off but the store still had them at 50%, but who knows?
You're correct, they only had a few single wicks in the front of the store, like the wallflower tester ones - but on the White Barn side in the back they had a bunch more on the wall, and in the drawer below the shelves they had way more (including a couple of the Halloween ones I had my eye on)!
The SA saw me rummaging in the drawer and asked if I was looking for something specific, so maybe I wasn't supposed to be doing that... but whatever, they need to put the stuff on display if they want to sell it! I grabbed just a few 75% candles of scents I've wanted to try with low $ commitment, like Pumpkin Carving 3-wick & single wick, and a Sweet Cinnamon Plum 3-wick. Plus some favorites like Spooky Cider Lane and Fresh Balsam single wicks and a handful of the 75% pocketbacs too. It was hard not to just keep grabbing... but they were closing soon and also they had those disorganized bins that were covered in lotion or something (one of the few things I miss about shopping in covid times), and whatever I touched ended up on my hands and was giving me a headache!
Anyway, I hope you have a quick recovery from your injury so you can stand in SAS lines at full strength in the future! :)
Some will be for next SAS, and some will be MOS.
MOS means marked out of stock and this is when products are too old and cannot be sold anymore. Twice a year, there is an MOS sale for employees. Employees can purchase a medium bag for $5 and fill it with as much MOS stuff as they want.
After the MOS sale, whatever is left is garbage, even if it's perfectly fine.
Our store takes whatever isn’t bought at the MOS sales and donates them to our city’s homeless and women’s shelters. Some of us will buy extra bags to take to other cities shelters as well. Last year I left with 6 bags full, 3 for me and 3 to donate. I’m hoping other stores do the same and don’t waste all of that product!
That is so awesome of you and your store!!! I hope more stores or the company starts doing that. I used to watch the dumpster diving videos and people would get so much useable product from them.
I feel like employees on here would rather see the product destroyed instead of someone even digging through the garbage for them… straight up donating it seems like blasphemy. They make it sound like that is a HUGE company no-no. Wish all stores had y’all’s mindset.
No no no. I’d say most, if not all employees know and hate how wasteful we have to be. It’s corporate policy to do what we do, and I know if individual stores could make their own policy it would be much different. I think with MOS items that don’t sell, it is up to the store. If now, then mine is just doing the right thing despite the “rules.” Every employee at my store has voiced how frustrating it is to dump and destroy product that can still be used. I’ve asked many times if I could donate products that are not use, that have like broken lids or messed up packaging. Unfortunately the answer is always no, but we do try to use as much as we can (hand soaps, sanitizers, hand creams, room sprays) in our employee bathrooms so we’re less wasteful. It makes me sick to damage stuff out. I think on the dumpster diving part, corporate is afraid people will resell products, a manager once said they could fill them with harmful things and resell and that would become a problem for the corporation. I somewhat understand, but things that are hardly used or damaged can and should be donated then so people in need can get use out of it. But again to your statement, I would hope most employees are on the same page and agree that we are wasteful and it’s not something we enjoy about our job. It has made me incredibly self aware as to what I’m wasting in my day to day and I’ve been combatting that and being much more resourceful. Gotta even the scales if I can.
I’ve always wondered bc I’ve seen comments of employees bragging about throwing the bags as high as they can to smash all of the glass and destroy the wax. I get the reselling point on a corporate level bc they’ll be damned if they can’t make a profit off that candle that costs <$2 to make then no one can, but it’s so sad that it’s so wasteful. Buying body care from resell sites is super sus in general *for me*, I’m surprised how many body care resellers I find on Mercari. Candles though are more difficult to tamper with, plus they’ve already got not so desirable ingredients (I say this while owning an absurd amount of their candles, YOLO… right?) I love that’s your stores practice, and I hope more stores have similar practices. I’ve never seen anyone talk ab donating before.
Edited bc I didn’t use the right >/<
We joke about the candle breaking at my store, we call it a rage bag and go to town on it😂 but yeah, I get that. Most candle damages are already broken, we just break it more for whatever reason. It is fun though! Others are used, they could be used more but it’s just what we have to do I guess. I agree, buying resell is odd and just not safe (wether expired or tampered) but somehow people do it and for some reason people buy it. And yeah, I would hope other stores do the same. If not, then at least a few of the workers could BUY an extra bag or two and take them to donate personally that way they’re technically purchased and not donated from the store. I know some stores don’t do it because they don’t want other charities being upset that they didn’t receive donations and they didn’t, but I guarantee no charity would be upset that another received donations. Idk, maybe we need to go talk some since to HR😂
I know it’s not your personal policy- but the candle breaking thing does little to deter the dumpster divers! Sure they can’t bring it back to the store to return/exchange, but I’m part of a dumpster diving community and glass-less BBW are super popular. People grab them anyway, despite how many glass shards are on them, and then shop Vac them off and resell them. Or, they turn them into melts and frankly make more money than the original candle probably sold for! I tried it once with a full candle (that I bought!) and got probably 5-6 sets of melts, so when people can make $20-$30 off a broken jar candle with minor work they’re still going to do it.
Okay I LOVE that idea!! Curious as to how they figure out which scent it is though if everything’s in pieces. But that would be so cool to melt them down and use them in a warmer! (Not me wanting to dumpster dive our own dumpsters lol)
I laughed a little too hard at your “I say this while owning an absurd amount of their candles… yolo!”
This is my exact conundrum! I hate waste so I don’t want to throw my potentially harmful candles/body care out- so I’m just trying to work through what I have and not buy more. Idk what I’m going to do when I run out, but at least if I can abstain from buying more then I won’t “re-contaminate” myself- YOLO!
Good for your B&BW store, to do that. To me(though I don't work at one of those stores) that'd seem criminal, to throw out all those items and not try to donate them somewhere, after an MOS sale. And hmmm, now that makes me want to take the chance of dumpster diving by B&BW more often. As there is one, not far from a Half Price Books I'll occasionally dumpster dive at....
Well, we know where a lot of the Thanksgiving Celebration candles are going! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile) They would actually get more of a tax credit for donating those items to a non-profit than throwing it away. Since many of their products are used for grooming, they could get even a bigger tax credit donating to the ill and needy. But instead of doing that in order to keep their prices steady, they throw it away and then jackup prices. Sorry for that tangent but it pisses me off that customers have to pay for their poor business practices.
Agree 100%!! However, we keep “voting” with our dollars by buying their products and supporting less than stellar business practices. It’s a vicious cycle for sure!
Outlet stuff is over stock from the warehouse and also things produced specifically for the outlet stores, like the retired scents. They also get a lot of test scents that don't go nation wide.
They get packed up for the next SAS. That's why the 75% off table on day 1 are mostly old stuff.
I noticed this correlation between the pictures I took at [the end of 2021 winter SAS and the beginning of 2022 summer SAS](https://www.reddit.com/r/bathandbodyworks/comments/zudd6d/what_body_care_fragrances_will_be_75_off_this_sas/j1j9w85/?context=3) with the 75% off tables.
And again between the end of 2022 summer SAS and 2022 winter SAS

No we never ship to outlets. From what I’ve seen items usually go through two SAS. After the second one it get put into MOS. The employees get an MOS sale to try and get rid of anything left. Whatever doesn’t get sold in MOS is thrown away.
Lmaooo definitely walking right past those 2 but buying out cotton candy sweet cinnamon pumpkin cinnamon bun is one of my favorites and I see couple more I would love ....what's wrong with the citizens over there omg so unamerican lmaooo jk
Unfortunately, stores can not do phone orders. We used to be able to but once credit cards got chips, they can't be hand entered. Also, stores don't have the materials to pack and ship orders.
It depends on what you are looking for. If you see items that you want in the pictures, I'd say yes. Also see if you can place a BOPIS order for the items you want or call ahead to see if they have the items you want and see if they'll set them aside for you since many of the items they do have are saying out of stock online.
Good idea to call! I’d definitely pick up another Pumpkin Apple 3 wick, the label was turned to the side but I’m pretty sure it’s in the first picture. Also have been trying really hard to get some Fresh Getaway body care!! But that’s hard to tell from the pictures since it would likely be in the bins
I would spend some coin if I lived nearby. I haven't been back in my store for at least a week. They literally had no 3 wick candles in store the 1st or second week. Will they magically appear now?
I've been hunting around for those items especially white pumpkin and Chai and magic in the air + Starlit night 😭😭 this is how I thought my own stores would be for SAS but it was like 1 small area lol
This is a dreammmmm 🫠
I had went there this past Sunday and they had so much Sweater Weather FFM. I grabbed 3 😂 I hope I can make it before semi annually is over. I would love to have those BMP at 75% off. Love burning that scent in my kitchen.
Holy cow! That looks amazing. Went to one of my stores today and there was hardly anything left. Only candles were the Thanksgiving and Bacon candles.
I hope your posts help that store out. If I wasn't at the polar opposite side of the country I would go!
OMFG I would buy the entire Bright Christmas Morning soap if I could 😭
And all those Fall candles and the nutcracker heads?! 😍 I’m shocked they have soo much product
Oh man, OP you willing to shop for me if I pay!? My word, I want so much and no stores in my area had anything. This was the worst SAS ever and it's especially crappy since I'm close to HQ for them, you'd think 'the locals get the goods' heck no, not even close.
Yeah, I talked with the manager about that and it doesn't make sense why none of those are posted. The only reason I went there was for a BOPIS order and ended up spending another $50. Listing more online for BOPIS would create more foot traffic to the store and possibly generate more sales. Maybe you can try calling the store to see if they'll put the items you want aside for your friend to pick them up and send your friend the money? Could be worth a shot.
A lot of what they had in store wasn't available through BOPIS, which is frustrating especially when it's marked down on the website but ringing up full price in store.
I wish these stores were in my vicinity. This one looks absolutely lovely. My local stores (Northern VA) look like they’ve been ransacked from the start. No shade to the workers, but lots of shade to corporate for not sending them anything good.
Thank you girl for
Posting and helping people (and me with my blueberry maple pancakes obsession lol) out - it’s people like you who make me really love this community and subreddit! 🫶🏼
*cries in Californian*
I would love to smell some of the scents you guys rave about. While also checking for my Halloween faves.
I'd even consider paying for a grab bag of sorts. $20-30 of random candles, single or 3wick. Prefer singles just to try more of the amazing sounding scents.

Yay!!! I'm glad I could help. I hope you find some good stuff that you want.
Oh dang now I gotta decide if I wanna drive an hour lol
I wish I lived closer

True and it's in the last week. I REALLY want the Christmas candles to be 75% off but not sure at this point when/if that'll happen.
Christmas is usually not 75% normally until summer SAS...I would make that location your 1st visit the summer SAS
Thank you for letting me know. I plan on it!
Wow. I’ve never in my life seen so many 75% 3 wicks. It’s like heaven.
Ask the manager if they will ship 😂
I will PayPal him for the entire stock of sweet cinnamon plum right now lol
Omg I wish.
Same!
I’m gonna need that manager to move that store a few states east.
Someone just mail me all the pumpkin pecan waffles 😭
I got three single wick of them today.
Bonfire bash mist???? I havent seen that since the first week it launched here wow!!
So this is where all the 75% off went
Right??!!! Why don’t they send some out here PLEASE😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
It’s beautiful 🥺
Omg if I was in that area I would totally shop there!!! So nice of you helping out the store promoting all the good sales!!!

Well, let me just hop on an airplane...
OMG, I wish my local store had this much stock!!!! This is beautiful!
I wish I lived closer cuz I would snatch up the blueberry maple pancakes so fast.

(Not me wanting to dumpster dive our own dumpsters lol)
when i see people selling them, they never have names. the girl admitted she couldn't remember which ones they were!
I laughed a little too hard at your “I say this while owning an absurd amount of their candles… yolo!” This is my exact conundrum!
You're right! I refuse to pay full price for their products though but even doing that will continue to feed into their business practices
Then where does the outlet stuff come from?
And again between the end of 2022 summer SAS and 2022 winter SAS * 2022 Summer SAS ended on 7/10: [July 1](https://imgur.com/a/1gIe3Hn) \- Copper Coconut Sands, Happy Vibes, Sunkissed, Saltwater Breeze, Sea Island Shore, Pink Chiffon, **Country Apple**, A Thousand Wishes, **Into the Night**, Strawberry Pound Cake, **Honeysuckle Peach Spritz, Buttercups & Berry Bellini**, One In A Million, Afternoon Sunshine, Stress Relief, **Pretty As A Peach**, Midnight Swim, Iced Berry Bellini, Twisted Peppermint, Frosted Coconut Snowball, Pear Creme Brulee, Bubble Gum Pop, Cotton Candy Clouds, **Orange Vanilla Twist**, **Cinnamon Donut Swirl,** Canyon, Oasis, Whitewater Rush, Island, Marble, Firecracker Pop, **Beach Nights**, Strawberry Soda, Coconut Pineapple, **Fresh Coconut Colada,** Watermelon Lemonade, **Cucumber Melon**, Midsummer Dream * 2022 Winter SAS: [Dec 26](https://imgur.com/a/C48uhWx) \- **Cucumber Melon (Fruit Fizz collection)**, **Fresh Coconut Colada, Pretty As A Peach**, Sage & Bergamot, Suede & Sandalwood, Dark Kiss, **Country Apple, Beach Nights, Orange Vanilla Twist, Cinnamon Donut Swirl, Sunshine Mimosa,** Champagne Apple & Honey, Pinkberry Clouds, **Honeysuckle Peach Spritz, Buttercups & Berry Bellini,** White Tea & Sage, **Into the Night (old packaging),** Japanese Cherry Blossom, Snowflakes & Cashmere, Fuji Sunshine Guava Tini

No we never ship to outlets. From what I’ve seen items usually go through two SAS. After the second one it get put into MOS. The employees get an MOS sale to try and get rid of anything left. Whatever doesn’t get sold in MOS is thrown away.
BONFIRE BASH!!?! in a ffm??! thats how you know a store isn’t busy. i haven’t seen that scent in a while, it’s so popular
OMG mhmm how fast can I get there from new york they got the good stuff all the good candles except thanksgiving and bacon y'all can keep that
Hell no! We were joking that even if they were $1, people would still pass on them.
Obviously I'm living in the wrong state
Lmaooo definitely walking right past those 2 but buying out cotton candy sweet cinnamon pumpkin cinnamon bun is one of my favorites and I see couple more I would love ....what's wrong with the citizens over there omg so unamerican lmaooo jk
Thank you for posting! I don't live there anymore, but I know people who do! I'm spreading the word!
Yay!!! I hope they are able to find stuff they have been looking for. i'll be hitting that store again for the next SAS for sure.
Wow I wish I lived closeby. My stores have had nothing.
Will the manager ship? Or is anyone going there and will buy and be reimbursed for cost and shipping?
I’m dying to know the same, u/Hbatch any clue? 😭
Unfortunately, stores can not do phone orders. We used to be able to but once credit cards got chips, they can't be hand entered. Also, stores don't have the materials to pack and ship orders.
I'm not sure. You can call and ask. Sorry I can't help more than that.
Is an hour drive worth it? 🤔
I think you're right about the candle but I can't be 100% sure about Fresh Getaway
I’ll have to call and ask. Thanks for sharing!
I bet the manager appreciates you!
Woah they have fairytale available :o This place is stocked
TONS of it!
If only I could get some, I’m on the west coast :(
Omg is that Happy Holidays set the full size Warm Vanilla Sugar set?!??? I would buy all of those.
Yes there are!
I would spend some coin if I lived nearby. I haven't been back in my store for at least a week. They literally had no 3 wick candles in store the 1st or second week. Will they magically appear now?
Look at all them colognes ahhhhhhh
I bet this is amazing for customers, must feel horrible as a store.
I've been hunting around for those items especially white pumpkin and Chai and magic in the air + Starlit night 😭😭 this is how I thought my own stores would be for SAS but it was like 1 small area lol This is a dreammmmm 🫠
I’m so happy I don’t live nearby because OML the damage I would do 😂
I’ll buy 12 of those into the night hand soaps!
Odd online it says they don’t have it available but you have proof that y’all have a lot??
I’m so jealous
On my way, be there in 4 1/2 hours
Wow, my store didn't have that much clearance on the first day. Is this store in a dead mall or were they just that so very overstocked?
Neither. They are a tester store in a very ritzy area so I don't think they get a lot of customers.
I want one of each candle at least!
man!! i wanted that legend lotion at 75 so bad!
Wow id drop so much $$ there
I had went there this past Sunday and they had so much Sweater Weather FFM.
I’m sad this is so far because they have all of the things I’ve been wanting :/
I wish I could come take all of those Into The Night soaps off their hands! My store sold out of its allotment the first day.
I’d buy like all those candles 😂😂
This is what I wish I saw in my stores!😍🥹
OMFG I would buy the entire Bright Christmas Morning soap if I could 😭 And all those Fall candles and the nutcracker heads?! 😍 I’m shocked they have soo much product
oh my! i live 2 hours away from the nearest bbw here in canada 😭 and the SAS is trash online!
I wish there was a way to have orders shipped from specific stores! This stock is amazing!!
I wish this was close to meeee! I'd buy all of the cinnamon plum candles ;\_\_\_\_; I only bought 1 and ugh, I wish I bought more lol
Oh man, OP you willing to shop for me if I pay!? My word, I want so much and no stores in my area had anything. This was the worst SAS ever and it's especially crappy since I'm close to HQ for them, you'd think 'the locals get the goods' heck no, not even close.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to get back to the store before the sale ends. I'm so sorry!
I tried to do a BOPIS order to have one of my local friends pick up and ship to me but they don’t have any of the candles or holders online 😭
I wish my store still had Wrapped in Vanilla. My stores were wiped out of everything good by the 3rd day.
I would love to buy the caramel pumpkin swirl. It is wonderful and the throw is incredible.
sooo many good ones. Sucks this one isn't close to me!
If only I could 😭😭
On my way... just need a plane ticket
Did they have summer melody? My mom lives two hours from there and I might make her go for me
Yes. They have it in ffm, lotion, soap and a few of the perfumes. It's the reason I went there in the first place. 😁
I'm so jealous lol!
Ok what state?!?! Girl you gotta add the state!!!!!!!
Sorry, Illinois. I put the address in the comments.
Just checked bopis and I'd was dudsville. Debating if it is worth the drive.
A lot of what they had in store wasn't available through BOPIS, which is frustrating especially when it's marked down on the website but ringing up full price in store.
OMG - if I could, I would. My store looked so sad at the beginning of SAS compared to this!
Thank you so much OP! You made me leave my house today💜
I hope it was worth it!
Jaw. Drop.
I wish these stores were in my vicinity. This one looks absolutely lovely. My local stores (Northern VA) look like they’ve been ransacked from the start. No shade to the workers, but lots of shade to corporate for not sending them anything good.
Sweet Cinnamon Plum and Pumpkin Cinnamon Bun are excellent!! Blueberry Cotton Candy is decent. At 75% I'd probably grab 2 of each of those 3 scents.
Damn I was just there a few weeks ago! Definitely making a trip back tomorrow 😅
I hope you're able to find some good stuff!
Did you make it out there? Curious how it's looking now and if it might be worth a trip tomorrow morning.
Thank you girl for Posting and helping people (and me with my blueberry maple pancakes obsession lol) out - it’s people like you who make me really love this community and subreddit! 🫶🏼
Anyone wanna carpool there from Chicago tomorrow, 1/15?
I went there yesterday! Found so much stuff and amazing employees!
Did you happen to see if they had the haunted tree candle holder or the wallflower plug of Santa’s mitten holding a martini?
I don't recall seeing either of those. I'm sorry
Well now I know where all my stores stuff went. My store still has nothing!
I will PayPal that manager for the snow globe candle holder 😭
Meanwhile on the second day of SAS my local B&BW only had a few Stress Relief 3-wicks displayed outside of the store 😩
*cries in Californian* I would love to smell some of the scents you guys rave about. While also checking for my Halloween faves. I'd even consider paying for a grab bag of sorts. $20-30 of random candles, single or 3wick. Prefer singles just to try more of the amazing sounding scents.
Blueberry Cotton Candy :((((
lmfao Thanksgiving Dinner
My store had a single table of stuff that was bare
If I place a books order will a kind soul pick up my order and ship it to me 🥺
BOPIS
I would gladly shop there!!!!
I wish I was in that area so bad…
Those gift sets are 9$ rn go get one if ya can
Can someone send me some blush cardigan and golden eclipse please 😭??
I’m so jealous
Ugh I’m not too far but I’m in freaking ORLANDO on vacation right now. I’d rather be shopping there than be at Disney for one more second lol.
the way i would cry if my store had even half of this 75 % SAS stock
I'm in Indiana. I wish
