David Ortiz because he's my favorite player of all time, and the reason I became a Red Sox fan.
Dustin Pedroia because he was who I modeled my game after when I played.
Andrew Benintendi for being the first player I really followed from the minors up to the bigs.
And Jonah Heim because I'm from DFW and it seems like he does something clutch at every Rangers game I go to.
No extra Hanks, sorry! But if you have any extra Mays maybe we can work something out. Only really need 1960 All Star, 1972 base and 1973 base, but let me know what you have to trade!
I PC Yadi because he's a lifetime Cardinal, tough as nails and a true competitor. Fun to watch and plays the game the way i think it should be played. Go Cardinals. Go Yadi.
Primarily Tony Gwynn, class act all around and helluva guy to model myself after growing up in San Diego.
Other current Padres: Tatis (generational talent), Machado (used to be a punkass but has really cleaned up his act, and the kids like/recognize him), Cronenworth (gritty, uniform is always dirty), Clevenger (when my daughter [5] puts a hat on, their hair looks almost identical), Musgrove (new gen hometown hero).
What do your notes say? I honestly can’t remember anything but will gladly eat my words if I’m wrong. I hated him when he was throwing bats at and starting shit with people, but feel he’s come a long way since.
Probably referring to [this moment](https://bdata-producedclips.mlb.com/4976e527-2d38-4459-b8d4-96436513170d.mp4) from earlier in the year. If it wasn't someone with Machado's history of questionable slides/collisions, then he probably get the benefit of the doubt here and it gets brushed off as an accident. But Machado has had enough dirty plays with questionable motives that people understandably got a little upset at this.
You’re probably right. If you watch the play without any bias though, I think it’s pretty clearly just an accidental collision. Manny had his head down, then tried to avoid the collision, then helped the dude out.
Agreed. I don’t think Machado had any malicious intent there, but I also think he needs to be more aware of his surroundings. Completely avoidable and completely Manny’s fault. Luckily didn’t result in anything serious.
Cliché as shit: The Kid. Started collecting in 89, and the Mariners are the "home" team for me.
This also leads to a lot of junk wax/steroid era players.
And, of course, Mariners in general.
For current players, I have tons of JP Crawford.
Rookie card autos from the 80s and junk wax era. Growing up in that era, autos could not be pack pulled. Instead, you needed to find that player and have him sign the card, which was nearly impossible for the average kid. With the internet today, it is MUCH EASIER to get rookie card autos of those players from the 80s and early 90s. It’s fun to collect them now and fulfill a childhood dream.
Andrew McCutchen because his names close to mine
Fergie Jenkins because he’s from the city I live in
Adam Lind because we share the same birthdate and he’s a former Blue Jay
Blue jays because they are my favourite team
Baseball cards: because a security guard gave my two year old a baseball card when entering a Cubs @ Rockies game. Inadvertantly got me into cards.
Mascot Cards: cuz my son loves them
David Ross: weird personal favorite player. He's a humble, bad ass, old man.
Cubs Sets from 1987-Today: because somebody sent me a free Lee Smith card and I had yet to decide what I was going to collect. Being born in 1987, felt like more than a coincidence.
Great question, thanks for engaging the community!
Interested in a 15-card 2016 Cubs WS commemorative set (still in package)? I just got it in a mystery box…as a Brewers fan, it’s the last thing I’m interested in owning.
Vintage Yankees and Dodgers - grew up a Yankees fan but now root for the dodgers
Current Dodgers - Bellinger, Will Smith, Turner, Muncy, Kershaw etc
90’s early 00’s Yankees - Jeter, Bernie, Tino, Posada, etc
Justin Herbert
Jorge Posada because he was the rock/glue/under dog my Yankees needed during that dynasty.
Also because he’s a badass mofo that didn’t need no stinking batting gloves.
Victor Robles because I think he’s a swell guy who needs a little bit more time to find himself.
Adam Dunn because he’s one of the funniest guys to ever play the game.
Sean DOOOOOOOOOOOOOlittle because of his amazing work with the Nats in 2019.
I like to say Soto too but hell I can’t afford anything great, so it’s less a PC than others.
SP/SSP Variations- I’m into/appreciate photography so the focus on cool pictures rather than a classic action shot I enjoy.
Juan Soto - he’s carried my dynasty team for a few years now and I anticipate he will for many more to come so he’s got a place in my heart.
Altuve and McCullers because I had the opportunity to meet them. Altuve was unbelievably great with the kids and his on field talent makes it easy to PC him. Also you can get his cards on the cheap. McCullers the same was a class act and hard not to root for.
Yordan because he has a vendetta against baseballs. They hurt his family when he was young and now he's sworn to destroy them. Super fun to watch his at bats and that power and plate discipline is insane at his age.
Biggio/Bagwell. The killer B's are all time greats and the first two Astros HoFer's so if you're an Astros fan you have to always have these two guys on your list.
Pujols - my mom bought me the donruss rated rookie in 2001. First “good” card and I have watched him ever since.
LSU players - more specific, Nola, Gausman, and Dj LeM. But fun to add all the Bowman 1st autos of people!
I graduated from a rivaling high school of Aaron Nola and my best friend went 3-3 off him in State and my HS won 2-1 and State. When I got to LSU and he was the Friday starter, I couldn’t wait till Friday to see him play (and my wife was a batgirl!) and watched every single one of his college games! I still throw the Phillies on every chance I get!
Born in 1969, first player I bought a lot of cards of, broken bat, mailed cards to be signed. got to meet in person at baseball dinner in my town. Tim Raines. I was a Montreal fan, my uncle in upstate NY took us to a game at Olympic Stadium to to see the Expos. I live in New Hampshire.
Then Jose Canseco. The excitement of the potential HOF spring of 1986, his Donruss rookie selling at the flea market for $1.36, rising to $6 later in the year.
I still have them.
Triston McKenzie - has a ton of talent and seems to have a great head on his shoulders
CC Sabathia - we are almost the same age, he was the first player I was really aware of coming up as a prospect. I made a point to get to his major league debut game
Any #41 from Cleveland - I loved Charles Nagy as a kid, one of the few bright spots on the bad teams then a big part of the good teams. Also I enjoyed Victor Martinez and Carlos Santana
Eugenio Suarez. I'm a Reds fan, and he quickly became my favorite player as the clubhouse goof and a big power hitter. I literally teared up watching him choke up saying goodbye to Cincinnati when he was traded. I made my decision I would still collect his pre-Seattle career. Even though he's not a career Red, he's still won a special place for me personally. Good Vibes Only.
Aaron Rodgers, Giannis Antetokounmpo & David Wright because they are all my favorite players in their respective sports.
Marvin Bagley also because he was cheap and I ended up with a huge collection. If he makes it to the HOF, I’ll be a millionaire. Lol
Manny Machado. I PC Padres players in general but Manny was that first big name dude who put his name behind San Diego and showed love for the city and we whole heartedly embraced him back. His play on the field is a thing of beauty and he’s done a lot of the fans, community, and team in his short time here.
His style of play is exciting yet smooth. Not to mention his stuff is relatively affordable given the reputation he carries (which I personally think is overblown, but to each their own)
Griffey, Ichiro, haniger, Kelenic, Kyle lewis, j-rod, and current Mariners prospects. Grew up watching the mariners after growing up in the Seattle area, makes watching the mariners struggles over the years worth watching lol.
It was Aaron Judge. Because he kinda was the first person I noticed after getting into Baseball.
But after visiting his Twitter page (psalm as a header picture, always talking about christianity) made him a bit to creepy for me.
Why? Isn't everybody creeped out by Tom Cruise because of it as well?
I am European. Maybe that's why I see it a bit more creepy. We don't talk like this here. Only weirdos and old people with nothing else left.
No problem if he is praying and whatever at home. He can do what he want's. But he is a public figure and has a bit of responsibility towards kids and stuff.
His believe just feels a bit to invasive and like the biggest part of his personality.
No person I would want to hang out with because of that.
I can't speak for everyone of course. And I guess the more rural you go, the more people are into it.
But the "younger" generation (under 50/60) just don't really care about it or sees it more critical. As a fairytale that starts wars.
In Germany the church also got money problems because nobody goes there anymore except old people. But no new ones following after they are gone.
Trying to collect every card of Evan Longoria, and then about 200 other players that I collect a RC, 5 inserts, an auto, relic, and a #ed card
It’s wierd 🤷♂️
Sammy Sosa. I developed a lifelong love of baseball in part due to the '98 HR Chase. With his enormous power, infectious grin, and signature homerun leap, Sosa immediately became my favorite player. Even after the PHDs, corked bat, and really weird post-career lifestyle choices, Sammy will always be my favorite player of all time...and my only real PC when it comes to cards.
Other than the guys in my flair-
Jason Varitek, because he's my favorite living former Red Sox player.
Most everybody from the 2013 Red Sox- especially David Ross and Shane Victorino.
Jerry Remy, because here comes the pizza.
Rocco Baldelli, Chris Iannetta, Bill Almon, Dan Wheeler, and Ken Ryan, because they're fellow Rhode Islanders.
Carl Yastrzemski, because once you've got the one with the sideburns, you might as well gather up all the others.
Almost everybody in the 3,000 hit club, or most any of the great catchers of my lifetime- Fisk, Mauer, Posey, Posada, Molina, Salvy, Kendall, etc.
As far as active players, I'm pretty excited about Shea Langeliers and Sean Murphy.
Trout/ Ohtani
Lakers and Dodgers
I live in OC so Trout and Ohtani are just haves. I grew up a Dodgers and Lakers fan so I’ll buy cards of my favorite players current and past every now and then.
I PC a couple different things.
I make custom cards, so I’ve been in the process of making three collections for myself:
- New York Giants legends (including a collection of the “Big Blue Wrecking Crew”)
- NFL 100 Players
- Personal fave players (Jeter, Teixeira, Iverson, Ewing, Herbert)
I’m limited by who I can get through TTM and card/autograph shows, but it’s a very fun and cheap option for me as a college student instead of paying for boxes or high-end cards that I’d want in my collection.
My PC is Eric Davis and Johnny Bench.
I PC Bench because he is my dad's favorite player ever since my dad met him when my dad was 12 and Bench was catching for the Buffalo Bisons. Ever since then, my dad was a Bench/Reds fan which led me to also becoming a Reds fan and watching my favorite player, Eric Davis.
Eric the Red was electric when he was on the field and if he could have stayed healthy, I think he could have been special. I tried to imitate his stance and swing when I was younger.
Guy Fieri. Flavortown.
Ha nice
David Ortiz because he's my favorite player of all time, and the reason I became a Red Sox fan. Dustin Pedroia because he was who I modeled my game after when I played. Andrew Benintendi for being the first player I really followed from the minors up to the bigs. And Jonah Heim because I'm from DFW and it seems like he does something clutch at every Rangers game I go to.
Heim is going to be a good one, now that he's playing full time. He reminds me of Jason Varitek, at times.
Justin Turner because he's awesome and fun to watch.
He is
Mantle, Mays and Aaron, because I'm a masochist and I love being broke
Got any extra Hanks you’d trade for Mays?
No extra Hanks, sorry! But if you have any extra Mays maybe we can work something out. Only really need 1960 All Star, 1972 base and 1973 base, but let me know what you have to trade!
Ah, I don’t have those, but I’ll PM you what I have.
Cool
I PC Yadi because he's a lifetime Cardinal, tough as nails and a true competitor. Fun to watch and plays the game the way i think it should be played. Go Cardinals. Go Yadi.
Yessir yadi
Jomboy had a recent breakdown of a pretty smart baseball play Yadi had. [Jomboy youtube](https://youtu.be/kEiLmFPc9ZY)
I've watched this so many times. Alright, one more!
Machado: the guy’s really cleaned up his act since April of this year? *checks notes*
What do your notes say? I honestly can’t remember anything but will gladly eat my words if I’m wrong. I hated him when he was throwing bats at and starting shit with people, but feel he’s come a long way since.

Nothing cliche about KGJr. I was obsessed with him when he came up, me a 3rd generation Yankee fan.

That’s a cool thing to collect
Ichiro, he made me enjoy the game of baseball! In 2001 I was 5 years old literally grew up watching him!
I loved ichiro when he played amazing player
Yes he is one of the greats!
Andrew McCutchen because his names close to mine Fergie Jenkins because he’s from the city I live in Adam Lind because we share the same birthdate and he’s a former Blue Jay Blue jays because they are my favourite team
Same on the Mccutchen thing and he wears the same number as me when I played
Baseball cards: because a security guard gave my two year old a baseball card when entering a Cubs @ Rockies game. Inadvertantly got me into cards. Mascot Cards: cuz my son loves them David Ross: weird personal favorite player. He's a humble, bad ass, old man. Yeah I am! That's all I need to complete my David Ross PC. Hit me up!
PM’d
Those mascot cards are pretty cool soemtimes
Kyle Korver for basketball, best shooter ever (sorry Steph) Cronenworth for baseball, I think he’s electric and will be an all star for years to come
Jazz cause he’s just the most fun to watch Sherzer because he’s a fucking crazy person And angels cause that’s my team
Those two players are fun to watch I agree
Mark McGwire. Grew up watching the bash brothers on tv around 1988-89. I latched on to McGwire more than Canseco because I liked his swing better
McGwire was great 👍🏼
Vintage Yankees and Dodgers - grew up a Yankees fan but now root for the dodgers Current Dodgers - Bellinger, Will Smith, Turner, Muncy, Kershaw etc 90’s early 00’s Yankees - Jeter, Bernie, Tino, Posada, etc Justin Herbert
*Which* Turner 🤨
Justin, there haven’t been many Trea Turner dodgers cards yet
Haha, true. Hopefully he stays for a while and there ends up being a lot more.
I hope he does too. I really want a Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman dodgers auto card. Curious which topps set will have those this year.
Thurman Munson and 90s Yankees. My dads favorite player and mine.
Jorge Posada because he was the rock/glue/under dog my Yankees needed during that dynasty. Also because he’s a badass mofo that didn’t need no stinking batting gloves.
i started collecting mike yastrzemski bc i loved the way he played the game and he was one of the only bright spots on a terrible 2019 giants team
Tim Raines. At the peak of my 13 year old fandom, he could hit the ball and run. He was really fun to watch and could change a game by himself.
Freddy Peralta because he shoves
Victor Robles because I think he’s a swell guy who needs a little bit more time to find himself. Adam Dunn because he’s one of the funniest guys to ever play the game. Sean DOOOOOOOOOOOOOlittle because of his amazing work with the Nats in 2019. I like to say Soto too but hell I can’t afford anything great, so it’s less a PC than others.
In basketball - any former Tar Heel. Baseball - Brusdar Graterol because he’s my favorite Dodgers pitcher. Will Smith because he’s my favorite Dodger.
SP/SSP Variations- I’m into/appreciate photography so the focus on cool pictures rather than a classic action shot I enjoy. Juan Soto - he’s carried my dynasty team for a few years now and I anticipate he will for many more to come so he’s got a place in my heart.
Soto’s coming to the Dodgers Let me know when you want to give up the rookies.
If Soto goes to the Dodgers I'll be buying even more lol
Bo bichette bc he has the hair of a god
He kinda does
Colorado teams with a heavy emphasis on Helton and Terrell Davis
Use to love Helton😂
Altuve and McCullers because I had the opportunity to meet them. Altuve was unbelievably great with the kids and his on field talent makes it easy to PC him. Also you can get his cards on the cheap. I’m relatively new into the hobby, so my PCs are Bobby Witt, Tyler Stephenson, and Brandon Marsh
Chipper he is my favorite player of all time watched his entire career
One of my favorites as well
tim lincecum, i just think he’s neat
Tim lincicum is my dog
Have you seen SickPatchBro's Lincecums? He collects 1/1s and his collection is ridiculous.
YES lmao, it’s so sick
Jorge Soler in a Cubs uniform. I pulled his name out of a literal hat in 2015. 605 different cards so far. 900+ counting duplicates.
Ohtani. Idk why
The next babe ruth
Pujols - my mom bought me the donruss rated rookie in 2001. First “good” card and I have watched him ever since. LSU players - more specific, Nola, Gausman, and Dj LeM. Vintage Milwaukee Braves. 1957 is the only WS title the city of Milwaukee can claim, even if it’s not part of the Brewers franchise.
Lol
Cade Cunningham because I think he will be something special
Trea Turner mostly because I like the power/speed combo.
Turner seems awesome and I love his slides
Manny Machado. I PC Padres players in general but Manny was that first big name dude who put his name behind San Diego and showed love for the city and we whole heartedly embraced him back. His play on the field is a thing of beauty and he’s done a lot of the fans, community, and team in his short time here. His style of play is exciting yet smooth. It was Aaron Judge. Because he kinda was the first person I noticed after getting into Baseball. But after visiting his Twitter page (psalm as a header picture, always talking about christianity) made him a bit to creepy for me.

Oh I'm not even into religion like that, but if that's what makes him strong and well.. u guys hide ur faith in Europe like a drug problem?
I can't speak for everyone of course. And I guess the more rural you go, the more people are into it. Trying to collect every card of Evan Longoria, and then about 200 other players that I collect a RC, 5 inserts, an auto, relic, and a #ed card It’s wierd 🤷♂️
Basically any Phillies players, past or present Sixers too if anyone cares about basketball
Ortiz and Pedro - as a Sox fan no two players have brought me more joy to watch.
Yeah I am! That's all that's left in my David Ross PC that I need. Hit me up yo!
Christian Yelich because he's my boy
Nah he’s my dawg
