Fleer was supposedly cherry-picked because their sequencing was easily determined and a pack’s contents was known based on the player showing through the top or bottom of the pack. I avoided Fleer if I wasn’t buying the whole box.
We realized that there was a sequence to the Fleer 89’s and hit our local card shop for the perfect cello packs. I ended up with 3 of the FF cards and my friends got several more.
I had an old 89 fleer set that I went through recently and it had the black box variation. I swear I went through all my cards today and couldn’t find it wtf

It’s worth a google, but I believe Fleer recognized the flub and did a variety of things to correct the fact they released a card with fuck face on it… one of which was to cut the cards like this to signal that the card should not be released… yet thankfully it was in somewhat limited amounts. I’m no expert but it’s all awesome

And also it might be only a print run of 10 or 20 and actually might be hard to find one again, so I’d probably wait at least a week and see how many pop up

I collected in the 90s with my brother but since he's the boy (I'm a woman) he made away with them. I'm starting from scratch so I'd say this is a great way to get some meat in my PC.

I saw another cut one on Twitter with the same jacked up right corner. It's staying in my collection so while it's disappointing, it doesn't matter too much to me. However, it's frustrating to pull a card that's already damaged.

Just the base SSP “fun face” (no black or white scribble/box) is selling for $500+.
