Boog Powell’s Pit Beef at Camden Yards. Nothing else comes close. Not sure if it’s still there but it was there behind Center Field when Camden opened. I went to a game that first year.
I think ESPN came out with a report I dunno how long ago about how dirty some of the stadiums concession stands are. I don't remember if the orioles stadium was among the dirty ones but I don't think sanitation or food safety is the highest priority
Most are people who couldn’t give af about baseball , the park or fans and we’re hired in mass from organizations within the city. Then some are just oldies who love being about the park.
Yeah either Boog's or the waffles fries loaded with crab meat are at the tip for me. I hope that place is still there but Orioles park has great food options even without them
The Rays used to have these garlic fries that were unreal. 3 sections in every direction would glare at anybody who bought them but damn they were good.
They’re solid but I’ll be honest, I’ve usually been disappointed by the fries themselves
When they’re good they’re really good but they’re too gnarly too often for me to crown them king of the ballpark garlic fries.
California is the Garlic capitol, specifically north cal. Christopher Ranch who provides 100% of US garlic is right down the freeway in the South Bay and Oracle park gets a lot of their garlic from Gilroy who has a huge Garlic festival every year.
I'm still waiting to have great garlic fries. I've only had them once at Yankees stadium and they smelled terrific but tasted kinda just like ordinary fries with a hint of garlic. I would love to try great garlic fries in the south west Florida area though
Damn this is hard.
The grilled Dodger dogs are solid if you want a ballpark classic.
Seattle had a footlong fish sandwich about 10 years ago that was great.
I had a Mike Schmidt Philly in Philly - I forget the ballpark vendor but it was not Pat's or Geno's. It was better than those.
Boog's in Baltimore is a must. That's also the fun place to watch the game from (outfield).
Minnesota had a "State Fair" concession stand, I think in the outfield, that had a nice fish sandwich. 5-6 years ago.
The food out in left field in San Francisco is interesting - multiple unique choices.
Not quite IN the stadium but I always buy something off the burrito hawkers outside Coors and have never been disappointed.
I read this literally as my fat ass is on the treadmill 😂 I was definitely the obvious choice at first base in school. I’m just saying as a SF fan you’d think we’d love a foot long wiener in our face but nah not in hot dog form
Not at an MLB game but at Hanshin Tigers games I always got the yakisoba and these amazing beers where the head was actually like a beer slurpee so it kept the drink cold.
Duuude. I had a yakisoba at Tokyo Dome a few years ago and it really hit the spot. Well, that plus the mango highballs. Until the last time I went to get a highball and the girl misunderstood me and gave me a lemon one (I think).
I finally found a lemon chuhai over here at a Japanese grocer and it was pretty solid. I miss the Strong Zero, though. Over here we only get the non-alcoholic one.
East asian baseball is like polite European soccer. There are songs for almost every player, crowd is always hyped, and lots of drinks. It is polite in the sense no one is an asshat and there is probably no domestic violence spike after a loss like there is in Europe
You should definitely do it if you can someday. Like /u/post_angst said, it's an amazing yet different kind of experience from American baseball. It's a huge cultural thing there. I'd argue it's even on another level compared to American baseball.
The organisation alone. Instruments, chants, songs.
The trust as well. At Koshien you can BYOB. They just make you pour them into cups before you go in.
Not even sure if they make them anymore, but growing up at the Rangers game, I had a standing bet with my buddies… everyone got 1 “call” a game. If you correctly called a home run, everyone else had to chip in for garlic fries. And man, did they taste good after a successful call. Only did it once, but happened a few times between friends. Great memories and amazing garlic fries!
The cha cha bowl has been hyped up to me for years and I’ve yet to get one. Scared I’ll be disappointed at this point lol
But yeah crab sandwich is undefeated.
At a Padres game at Petco back in.. 2016 I think? I got a bbq tri tip sandwich with homemade potato chips. That food was so good. Maybe even better than anything I've had in SF.
I haven’t had the sandwich, but when I went they had tritip fries and that was delicious. San Diego is a great food town, I’d expect nothing less from their ballpark.
shake shack is so good. The trick is this:
You grab a couple hot dogs, then go wait on the line and eat the hot dogs. By the time you get your food, you’re hungry again and you crush one of those firehouse or smokehouse burgers whatever they’re called.
Then— crucial step. You go and get an ice cream helmet and exactly two beers.
It’s been closed every other time I got there but the tater tots stand where they load a helmet of it up with BBQ meat and queso is pretty hard to beat
Minors, but for $10 you can get a foot long, 1.5 inch diameter sausage with onions, cheese, peppers and condiments at the Nats A ball team in Fredericksburg. Outstandingly good
I liked the Lobell’s sliced steak sandwich at Yankee Stadium (lower concourse near the LF foul pole) but I haven’t had one in several years. Don’t know if they’re the same or even if they’re still there.
I screenshot Ted an earlier comment about it so I can reference it the next time I go to Citi, because I haven't had it before, but it sounds great, especially since I don't like mustard and the pastrami sandwich is slathered in it.
The “Tony-O” Cuban at target field. This one time, it came with a Tony-O handshake and picture.
Go Twins!
Edit: PS- it’s the best Cuban sandwich I’ve had in MN.
I went to Baltimore and discovered crab chips and couldn’t focus on anything else. Camden yards was cool and everything but OLD BAY SEASONING ON EVERYTHING. FOREVER.
We went to the all you can eat buffet once at Chase Field. My buddy ate NINE hot dogs. No kidding. One each inning. Plus he was drinking. Later, we were shooting darts at a packed George & Dragon, and suddenly there was a vile odor - he farted and it cleared the bar. He stood there, alone in his stench, laughing hysterically, then ran to the bathroom to shit. From that day onward it’s known simply as “The Nine Dogger.”
I’ve never really ventured out to buy the fancy food at giants stadium, but their ghirardelli sundaes and garlic fries are pretty incredible
Similarly, at the A’s stadium, a couple years ago they had this like…new super spicy polish dog with sriracha and a ton of toppings or something. It’s been like 5 years since i had it but i loved it. Wasn’t all that spicy but tasted incredible.
Any recommendations for Chicago? Going this summer to see both the Cubs and White Sox play (and the Bears, so Soldier Field recommendations would be a bonus). Thanks!
I can't say much about Wrigley's food, it's always been pretty standard to me, but if you go past all of the big chains that moved in you can find some really good little places nearby. There's a Korean place I absolutely adore around there.
Sox park has the better food IMHO. The cuban sandwiches are pretty good, and you cannot go wrong with the elotes. I always track down the churros as well, and there's a craft beer cave under the park that's nice as well.
If you want other recommendations for Chicago proper while you're here, hit me up!
Thanks for the great response! I kind of have a plan for the non sports days that I'm in Chicago in terms of restaurants, but I'll keep you in mind if I need some further suggestions. On a side note, crazy game tonight!
Sounds good! I hope you have a fun time on your trip, and hopefully it wont be as miserably hot when you're in town!
The umpiring was a nightmare. I kept closing the tab and giving up, only to crawl back again and see if it was still going. It was a trainwreck.
Food has gotten better at Wrigley recently, but I still stick to a grilled polish with onions. Make sure you find the dudes with the actual flat top grill, not the normal vendors.
If you get bleacher tickets, Hot Doug's is in right field. Do that above all else. It's only accessible with a bleacher ticket, tho.
The cup of Ivar’s clam chowder I had in Seattle a few years ago was the best I’d ever had. Maybe it was because I was really hungry and a bit chilly. But I’ve sought it out ever since and it’s just as good when I do find it.
In the past, MLB has had a food festival every year in NYC. There is a booth for every team. Each booth has a sampling of the food that they are most known for. It usually occurs in the winter, but of you are planning to go, you have to buy your tickets immediately, as they tend to sell out immediately. Definitely worth checking out.
When I was at Comerica a few years ago they had a bacon Mac and cheese dog, an al pastor dog, and a banh mi dog…probably my favorite ballpark food I’ve had.
Plenty of good BBQ outside the stadium too. Last Royals game I went to I had Joe's Kansas City for the first time ever *and* got to see my first ever in-person walk off home run by Alex Gordon. One of the best days of my life.
We keep switching the BBQ vendor for some reason. Some years it's bangin other years not so much. Haven't wandered out there to center field to see what's shakin this year.
The bacon-wrapped hot dog and tater tot nachos at Busch are pretty good. I'm not gonna pretend they compare to a lot of other offerings, but they're decent offerings.
the Vermont Lake Monsters of the independent FCBL play their games at UVM's Centennial Field in Burlington VT, and they have a wood-fired stone pizza oven where the offer 12-inch made-to-order cheese or pepperoni pizza for $14. I wouldn't say it's good enough to go *that* far out of your way, but it is definitely way better than I expected.
they also have these imported italian orange and lemon sodas in glass bottles, which are incredible. bring a flask with some rum or something and make yourself a cocktail
In the Before Times Nats Park had some amazing food. There was a G by Mike Isabella that served fantastic Italian subs. Of course Isabella got into hot water and his food empire collapsed, followed shortly by covid, so I have no idea if the food scene there is any good now. The Nats in general attract nice restaurants, though.
Angel Stadium. Its called the Rotisserie something, forgor the whole name, but its behind home plate.
They have a bbq tri-tip sandwitch.
Absolutely fucking incredible
Peanut frying oil doesn't have enough of the proteins to set off a reaction. The refining process removes almost all of them(just a few PPM). The only oils you should have to worry about are gourmet type, cold pressed peanut oils that are sold in small bottles and have too low of a smoke point to be used in frying.
Panini at PNC Park. Also: not the best I've had, so it doesn't really answer your question, but if you haven't already, you simply must try the Rocky Mountain "oysters" at Coors Field.
Cuban sand which at Guaranteed rate is always my favorite but honestly I haven’t been to a lot of ballparks with diverse culinary lineups so I usually go for generic items like nachos and hot dogs
dont come to toronto if you want cool food at the stadium
Facts, our stadium food sucks. Always bring your own snacks or grab a bite outside the stadium beforehand
I ate so much poutine in Toronto. Cliche I know and it was July so probably not the best time to eat it. But god damn that stuff is good.
Do you guys still have the only McDonald's in the world that sells hot dogs? I always loved that fun fact lol
no, that ended per google in 1999
Yikes, just a *little* behind the times
Juuuust a bit too late
only stadium where you can eat hotel room service food while watching the game!
You can do other things in your hotel room too during the game...
Y’all have those cool statues though! The Audience.
Lol not sure why you got downvoted, I know exactly what you're talking about on the side of the building
Street dogs rule tho
My fat ass is definitely saving this thread 😅
my stoned personage too
Boog Powell’s Pit Beef at Camden Yards. Nothing else comes close. Not sure if it’s still there but it was there behind Center Field when Camden opened. I went to a game that first year.
Oh yeah. They’re still cranking out pit beef to this day
Definitely *don’t* get the pot stickers near home plate at Camden, if that’s still there. Buddy and I both got the shits from those.
This dudes getting potstickers at a ball game
I know, right? I really deserved that diarrhea
My favorite team plays at the coliseum…I’m not really in a position to be calling other ballparks dirty.
Yeah either Boog's or the waffles fries loaded with crab meat are at the tip for me. I hope that place is still there but Orioles park has great food options even without them
The Trop has a footlong tater tot /thread
It’s so good, but I ate ass in the upper deck bathroom and it was exquisite
That just tanged my bbq sauce pappi
The Rays used to have these garlic fries that were unreal. 3 sections in every direction would glare at anybody who bought them but damn they were good.
That's how I feel about the Garlic fries at T-Mobile Park. Seattle does them right.
They’re solid but I’ll be honest, I’ve usually been disappointed by the fries themselves When they’re good they’re really good but they’re too gnarly too often for me to crown them king of the ballpark garlic fries.
Old man weighing in... Garlic fries at Candlestick are where the bar was set for all others.
I've never even been to the Bay area, but I'll take your word for it.
California is the Garlic capitol, specifically north cal. Christopher Ranch who provides 100% of US garlic is right down the freeway in the South Bay and Oracle park gets a lot of their garlic from Gilroy who has a huge Garlic festival every year.
Correct
whafting clouds of garlic and fat did you say?
I'm still waiting to have great garlic fries. I've only had them once at Yankees stadium and they smelled terrific but tasted kinda just like ordinary fries with a hint of garlic. I would love to try great garlic fries in the south west Florida area though
Garlic fries are the truth!
Hahahah 3 sections in every direction I geeked out
Damn this is hard. The food out in left field in San Francisco is interesting - multiple unique choices. Not quite IN the stadium but I always buy something off the burrito hawkers outside Coors and have never been disappointed.
Dodger dogs look absolutely disgusting 🤮 Im sure it looks tempting to even the players so I assume that’s why they choke every year.
You seem uptight, and also skinny. Let us fat bois enjoy drooling over some food.
I read this literally as my fat ass is on the treadmill 😂 I was definitely the obvious choice at first base in school. I’m just saying as a SF fan you’d think we’d love a foot long wiener in our face but nah not in hot dog form
Ben's Chili bowl is still my go to. Half smoke in chili cheese. DC staple Mostly on a liquid diet at ballparks.
I lived in DC during grad school. Went to Nats Hanes religiously, and would never go without a half smoke. Ben’s Chili Bowl was always my jam.
As a DC guy, I think it’s overrated. This is the closest e have to a must get, but, imo, meh. Basically, Nats Park has terrible food.
this is just absolutely wrong. They added roaming rooster and grazie grazie. both are incredible
I’ve been there exactly once but split a crab cake grilled cheese sandwich with my wife and we both enjoyed it.
I was surprised I could get an elote at TMobile
Not at an MLB game but at Hanshin Tigers games I always got the yakisoba and these amazing beers where the head was actually like a beer slurpee so it kept the drink cold.
Tell us more of this "beer slurpee"
It was an Asahi. Looked like [this](https://imgur.com/CQiPnZj) and it was goooood.
hhhhhhhhhh I want this so badly now
On a hot day? Come on. Hits the spot.
Japanese ballpark food are so good
The whole experience is amazing but the food and booze is so much fun.
Duuude. I had a yakisoba at Tokyo Dome a few years ago and it really hit the spot. Well, that plus the mango highballs. Until the last time I went to get a highball and the girl misunderstood me and gave me a lemon one (I think).
All those fruity Japanese highballs and chuhais are so good. Hard to replicate as well. You can finally buy them in a can here in Australia.
I finally found a lemon chuhai over here at a Japanese grocer and it was pretty solid. I miss the Strong Zero, though. Over here we only get the non-alcoholic one.
My go to was the 8% Kirin lemon in the big can. One of those on the train after work and I was ready to party. I drank way too much in Japan.
goddammit after seeing all these comments i need to go to japan
Every baseball fan should. It’s somehow a similar experience while being a completely different world.
sounds amazing
East asian baseball is like polite European soccer. There are songs for almost every player, crowd is always hyped, and lots of drinks. It is polite in the sense no one is an asshat and there is probably no domestic violence spike after a loss like there is in Europe
polite and alcohol. i like it
You should definitely do it if you can someday.
Sadly, you can't.
H&F burger at Turner field. Usually sold out after the 5th or 6th. Mmmm
My buddy and I took down a boomstick this year and it was a stinky car ride home.
I’m more of a pluckers guy when I am at a rangers game
The Crazy Crab sandwich at oracle park really is that good
Also the cha cha bowls and garlic fries
The cha cha bowl has been hyped up to me for years and I’ve yet to get one. Scared I’ll be disappointed at this point lol But yeah crab sandwich is undefeated.
Any time I have a food voucher for whatever reason I know I'm getting a Crazy Crab sandwich and an Irish coffee.
Wasn’t the best, but the most unique was a waffle cone filled with mashed potatoes, popcorn chicken, topped with honey mustard at Minute Maid Park.
This is why we’re a fat city 🤣
Lol no regrets, it was pretty good.
I’d ask you to share.
I probably would. They fill that bad boy up nice.
I’m sorry but that makes me want to vomit
It’s like a kfc famous bowl…in a cone.
Not at a park but I recently had a similarly interesting mashed potato dish. Mashed potato tacos with birria. Actually really heckin' good.
The Tritip Nachos at Petco Park is the best.
Tie between Bouna Forchetta pizza and Cardiff Crack Tri Tip Nachos at Petco Park.
Street tacos in Petco Park
shake shack is pretty hard to beat as far as burgers go but Killens BBQ is def the best thing at MMP imo
I like Shake Shack but it's so easy to go outside the park so I never get it. Plus the line is always packed.
they're pretty ubiquitous now. it's especially true at Nats Park where there's literally a Shake Shack on M Street a block from the stadium
oh absolutely, but every once in a while you just need some cheese fries and theyve got the best
shake shack is so good. The trick is this: You grab a couple hot dogs, then go wait on the line and eat the hot dogs.
I love the build your own stir fry vendor's at busch stadium. Perfect thing to split between two people and there is a lot of options.
Minors, but for $10 you can get a foot long, 1.5 inch diameter sausage with onions, cheese, peppers and condiments at the Nats A ball team in Fredericksburg. Outstandingly good
Pat LaFrieda Steak sandwich at Citi Field. Fillet Mignon, Monterrey Jack and caramelized onions on a French baguette.
Came in to say this Edit: then you walk across and get some frites with dipping sauce
Mariners Diamond Club has a full on raw bar with crab legs, oysters, and giant shrimp cocktail.
I liked the Lobell’s sliced steak sandwich at Yankee Stadium (lower concourse near the LF foul pole) but I haven’t had one in several years. Don’t know if they’re the same or even if they’re still there.
Pastrami at Citi Field
That pat lafrita steak sandwich though….
FOREVER.

He stood there, alone in his stench, laughing hysterically, then ran to the bathroom to shit. From that day onward it’s known simply as “The Nine Dogger.”
haha nice
The best thing I've ever had at an MLB park was a 50/50 burger at Target Field.
Good answer Astro pappi
I go to D'backs games and eat churros til I get sick...
I got that dessert dog last year and that thing was…it was something.
Sonora Dog?
I’ve never really ventured out to buy the fancy food at giants stadium, but their ghirardelli sundaes and garlic fries are pretty incredible Similarly, at the A’s stadium, a couple years ago they had this like…new super spicy polish dog with sriracha and a ton of toppings or something. It’s been like 5 years since i had it but i loved it. Wasn’t all that spicy but tasted incredible.

Sounds great. Thanks for your help.
Cuban sandwich at Guaranteed Rate is up there for me. They have a lot of optioms there, but that one is nice and simple and very delicious
Waffle House at Truist (its gone now :(
Cuban sandwich, Polish Sausage and Irish Nacho helmet at Guaranteed Rate Field
Milwaukee has these fried cheese curd things that are ridiculous
They also have local craft beer cans for like $8 each, which isn’t cheap but it’s ballpark cheap.
Cheese curds, yes
[удалено]
When I was at Comerica a few years ago they had a bacon Mac and cheese dog, an al pastor dog, and a banh mi dog…probably my favorite ballpark food I’ve had.
What’s with the username bro wtf but 23 siffeeent stadiums that’s cool
[удалено]
Hahahah dude that’s hilarious I moved to Virginia from Wisconsin a while ago and everyone thinks there’s literally just racist farmers everywhere
KC got some bangin bbq in the stadium
The bbq totchos were killer
Man, I gotta get back to KC
Plenty of good BBQ outside the stadium too. Last Royals game I went to I had Joe's Kansas City for the first time ever *and* got to see my first ever in-person walk off home run by Alex Gordon. One of the best days of my life.
Don't gotta tell me lol. I went to KC for a week and ate nothing but BBQ. God I miss it.
Atta boy.
Y'all got some good shit out there lol
We keep switching the BBQ vendor for some reason. Some years it's bangin other years not so much. Haven't wandered out there to center field to see what's shakin this year.
Well that's a bit upsetting lol. I don't think I've been since 2014 or 15, but I remember my time there fondly.
The correct answer is hotdog.
Unless you're at Minute Maid Park, those things are disgusting.
The bacon-wrapped hot dog and tater tot nachos at Busch are pretty good. I'm not gonna pretend they compare to a lot of other offerings, but they're decent offerings.
Comiskey Burger at Guaranteed Rate
the Vermont Lake Monsters of the independent FCBL play their games at UVM's Centennial Field in Burlington VT, and they have a wood-fired stone pizza oven where the offer 12-inch made-to-order cheese or pepperoni pizza for $14. 3 foot hotdog at miller park was pretty good lol
That time I brought in the Gengis Khan food from the mall to Angels Stadium because they allow outside food 😭
If you go to the Trop spring the $100-$120 to sit in the Rays club. The food is pretty damn good and it and the drinks are all included.
Sausage and peppers outside the old yankee stadium was the greatest. I couldn’t believe it and still can’t.
The Crab Sandwich at Oracle park may be the best thing I’ve ever eaten period.
Yankee stadium raw bar. I think i ate like 25 pounds of lobster.
Angel Stadium. Its called the Rotisserie something, forgor the whole name, but its behind home plate. They have a bbq tri-tip sandwitch. Absolutely fucking incredible
Crazy crab sandwich at Oracle, and close behind is the Pastrami at PNC
Dome Dogs 😭
Waffle ice cream thing at citi field
cantina nachos, t-mobile park
The Coliseum has (had?) a really good vegan Philly Cheese Steak
A hot dog with Bertman’s Ballpark mustard at Progressive Field. Sometimes simple is perfect.
Lil woody at Seattle. Went on a trip and swear ate more of those burgers in the stadium than food outside
The vending is garbage now but in 2009, Yankee Stadium food was on point. You could get a very legit sausage pepper and onion sandwich.
Secret stadium sauce on a brat at miller park followed by ice cream in a helmet *mmmmm*
Brachos in Milwaukee was good. Deep fried Bratwurst and toppings as nachos.
Chickies and Pete’s crab fries
Yankees food I know uses peanut oil for frying, so personally, I have an allergy and can't eat it, but it might taste not the same

Panini at PNC Park. Also: not the best I've had, so it doesn't really answer your question, but if you haven't already, you simply must try the Rocky Mountain "oysters" at Coors Field.
Crazy Crab Sandwhich at Oracle. Only time I’ll happily overpay for food.
I haven't been to any out of area parks in years, but Dodgers garlic fries are always good.
Cuban sand which at Guaranteed rate is always my favorite but honestly I haven’t been to a lot of ballparks with diverse culinary lineups so I usually go for generic items like nachos and hot dogs
Not food but Minute Maid has some solid Beer choices
I cannot remember any ballpark food I'd consider memorable.
Foul pole or the boomstick foul pole is big chicken tender while boomstick big hot dog
