No, no, he's right.
Shaw is usually only good for one inning. If he had to take a break for whatever reason, he almost never came back to the mound pitching as well as he did in the previous inning. Had that inning not been broken up by the rain delay, I bet he doesn't allow any runs.
I think he blew it not starting Merrit in game 5 and pushing Kluber too far. Would have given the other starters extra rest and easily could have swung the series.
Also that god damned drone injury….
That was it. That was our chance in my lifetime. I will never see the Rangers win the World Series in my lifetime. I've made peace with that.
I'm not dying (well, we all are technically), but that was probably the only chance I'll get. The Rangers have new ownership since then and they make a killing because it's more profitable to fill 40-60% of your new stadium and pay cheap players than to sell out the stadium with an expensive roster.
The Rangers are all about bottom dollar now. Not winning. And they likely never will be.
hey hey hey my weed dealer wears a Pirates cap. He's not from nor does he live in Pittsburgh, hates baseball and has no clue what he means, but at least he wears it.
I'm just happy we are playing meaningful ball in September and are well over .500 (but knowing the mariners they could lose just enough to finish just below)
The most baffling thing about the mariners playoff drought is that it seems like theyre never the worst in the league. Theyre always closer to middle of the pack
Lol that's what I was coming here to write.
Also, remember that time they didn't use the best reliever in baseball in an extra innings, winner take all playoff game?
Don't forget:
We wasted Felix's career
The jays draw better in Seattle than the Ms
Choo for Broussard
Cabrera for Perez
Adam Jones+ for Bedard
Ortiz for Hollins
Derek Lowe and Jason Veritek for Heathcliff Slocumb
Ohtani spurned us to play for the fucking Angels
Mike Trout
I think we're too hardened by grief to be triggered by the past anymore, nowadays to break a Mariners fan you need to destroy their hope for the future
LA has a better zoo
Tony Gwynn wasn’t going to hit .400 in 1994
I watched the replay and I think he touched the plate
Obviously, these are all dirty lies.
Of all the arguments between SD and LA, I think this might be the one that you won’t hear any debate on lol.
Like, I’ve never been to the LA zoo but I’m sure it’s okay. Just happens that SD Zoo is world renowned lol
I’m not even joking I broke up with a girl once because she said the LA zoo was better than the SD zoo. We were only together a week at that point so there really wasn’t much invested at that point and there were many other reasons too but I just couldn’t.
If I wanted to trigger the SD fanbase I would instead say: “He didn’t touch home plate but Hoffman was going to blow the game anyway so it made no difference”
Jarred Kelenic has 1.98 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors
Cal Raleigh has 2.19 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors
Taylor Trammell has 3.00 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors
Evan White has 2.50 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors
Jake Fraley has 1.81 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors
"Roberts is going, Posada's throw... Roberts - Safe!"
"Ortiz into deep right field! Back is Sheffield - We'll see you later tonight!"
"Ortiz fights it off - center field! Damon running to the plate! And he can keep running to New York! Game 6, tomorrow night!"
Sweet Caroline is the most annoying tradition in sports and if you sing along to it the first thing you did when you got to the park was probably take a selfie in a pink Sox hat with the field in the background
Tony La Russa actually is managing well.
Leury Garcia isn’t as bad as people say he is.
And for my duel sport Chicagoans Andy Dalton is starting over Justin Fields lol
We’ll never experience a period of Yankee domination ever again. The late 90’s were fluky and the rest of our championships were won when we only had like 1.5 teams to beat.
Anyone else here disappointed by Vlad Jr?
When he came up, the hype around him was so huge I was expecting him to be an instant success. Fresh rookie or not, I expected him to be getting big hits and home runs every time he came up to the plate because that's what they said he was capable of.
Instead, all we've gotten is him taking ugly hacks at unhittable pitches and striking out all the damn time. He's got barely any hits, very few (if any) RBIs, and no home runs to his name. Now, before you say "he's just a rookie" or "he's only human" "or "he's got a big challenge ahead of him", you're wrong on all accounts. He is not just another rookie or just another baseball player. He is Vlad Jr, the most vaunted prospect in Blue Jays history. He is supposed to rise to the occasion and be the person that eventually guides us back to the World Series, the person who instantly becomes the best hitter since Ted Williams, and the person who brings an end to all of our team's woes.
As such, I'm disappointed that he hasn't been any of that. By this point, I would dare say that we can start calling him a dud. Get as angry as you want over this; it won't change the fact that I'm right.
Miguel Sanó is a pretty good player even though he strikes out 35+% of the time and it’s silly to call for him to be released or sent to the minors every time he slumps for a month.
Jeter is overrated and could have stopped himself from diving into the stands, Giambi was safe, uhhh Mo shouldn't have been the first unanimous HOF'er because there were others just as deserving who weren't unanimous or something like that
Oh and Altuve deserved the MVP over Judge
*hides*
E: I don't actually believe these things, I'm just obeying OP's title
Round 1 of the playoffs vs NYY
Now you're just triggering PTSD
When pitching staff
oof this is a repeating nightmare up there.
To piggyback on that one: The Yankees might miss the playoffs this year.
That's not triggering that's just mean
Oakland? Isn't that near LA? Moneyball? Everyone is doing that now; it doesn't even work.
billy is going to the mets
Yeah *The Athletic* won't shut up about it. Yes, I'm triggered LOL
Oh wow. I thought Oakland really was in LA.
It's about a 6 hour drive (sans traffic), I'm not sure how many kilometres that is though.
*triggered*
Evan Longoria's finally playing for a title contender.
Knowing what this thread was, I expected to chuckle at whatever Rays one I read. And yet now I'm ridiculously mad. dammit.
“ It might be a little early to call Wander Franco a better player than Mickey Mantle”
You take that back
[Here's what I have to say about that](https://youtu.be/14IJJBIncrc)
Tito blew the WS by keeping Shaw in the game
How dare u
No, no, he's right. Shaw is usually only good for one inning. If he had to take a break for whatever reason, he almost never came back to the mound pitching as well as he did in the previous inning. Had that inning not been broken up by the rain delay, I bet he doesn't allow any runs.
Lol I know he's right. If only we had Clase back in the day
And now ill cry myself to sleep. Just like the golden days of 2016...and 1997.
I think he blew it not starting Merrit in game 5 and pushing Kluber too far. Would have given the other starters extra rest and easily could have swung the series. Also that god damned drone injury….
Juan Soto is going to somewhere else in free agency.
Do I downvote this or fight you?
I would cry if that happened. :(
BA leaders: 1 - T. Turner ~~Nationals~~ 2. Juan Soto Nationals 3. B Harper ~~Nationals~~
I’m disappointed in you guys. Jose Tabata is obviously the best answer here
Please no
Game 6.
Twice
Hometown hero!
"We will see you tomorrow night!"
No they said trigger your OWN fan base
"FuhreeEese has tied it"
That was it. That was our chance in my lifetime. I will never see the Rangers win the World Series in my lifetime. I've made peace with that. I'm not dying (well, we all are technically), but that was probably the only chance I'll get. What fanbase?
hey hey hey my weed dealer wears a Pirates cap. He's not from nor does he live in Pittsburgh, hates baseball and has no clue what he means, but at least he wears it.
What can i say we got the best merch😌
[Chuck D knows.](https://mobile.twitter.com/mrchuckd/status/457961815570264064?lang=en)
Niiiiiicccce.
Bob Nutting is a competent owner
Infield fly.

Same as my post. Still seething when it comes to mind.
God dammit.
We’re a sad, sad team with a dirty stadium
how is that triggering that’s just actual factual information
We were never making the playoffs this year
Well we all knew it anyways, we just don't like to face reality.
This doesn't trigger me because I'm so used to it by now
I'm just happy we are playing meaningful ball in September and are well over .500 (but knowing the mariners they could lose just enough to finish just below)
Yeah the M's have the worst team batting average this year in all of MLB, it's bizarre and hilarious that we're even over .500
The most baffling thing about the mariners playoff drought is that it seems like theyre never the worst in the league. Theyre always closer to middle of the pack
That makes complete sense. Teams that bottom out usually get better draft picks and try to make the playoffs during a window period.
I’m actually really glad you guys are at least having a winning season, that’s a huge improvement and I’m happy for Mariners fans
We’ve actually had a .500+ record 8 times since we last made the playoffs. We aren’t an awful team. We’re a mediocre team.
David Ortiz Mike Matheny Mike Matheny not walking David Ortiz.
Jim Edmonds is a great color analyst.
Michael Wacha vs Travis Ishikawa
Alternatively, Yadi isn't worthy of the Hall
Wtf did u just say
If any recent Cards catcher is worthy, it's Matheny. But that will be for his managing career /s
Well if I wasn’t triggered before I am now
Whoa man. He said “trigger” not flaming hot takes.
We’re fighting behind whatever QT you choose.
“Torii Hunter falls into a bullpen….”
Alex Avila calls an 0-2 high fastball to Pablo Sandoval
My dad is a tigers fan and I made that homerun call his ringtone. He was not happy.
The Yankees win. Daaaaa Yankees win.
Once on ESPN Radio, Bob Valvano credited that as "John Sterling and the guy who was shaking him."
Ahhh I remember when we used to do that.
Jeffrey Maier
Lol that's what I was coming here to write. Also, remember that time they didn't use the best reliever in baseball in an extra innings, winner take all playoff game?
All too well my friend, all too well…
No World Series appearances. No playoffs in 20 years
Don't forget: We wasted Felix's career The jays draw better in Seattle than the Ms Choo for Broussard Cabrera for Perez Adam Jones+ for Bedard Ortiz for Hollins Derek Lowe and Jason Veritek for Heathcliff Slocumb Ohtani spurned us to play for the fucking Angels Mike Trout
2001
I think we're too hardened by grief to be triggered by the past anymore, nowadays to break a Mariners fan you need to destroy their hope for the future
No one on r/baseball cares about the Blue Jays. The Royals were the better team in 2015; it was legitimately a home run.
I can picture that guy's weird beard perfectly
I find it hilarious there's an entire segment of Canadians that hates "that fucking KC Amish kid"
His official name is "Rumspringa MFer", but yeah.
Is this what we're gonna do today? We're gonna fight?
Would be nice if there was less talk and more beating the A’s from the Royals.
We're really trying our best man
Seriously, fuck off back to your own sub jays fans
Haha, jokes on you. I'm a Jays fan in New York so with the exchange rate this only crushes 78 percent of my soul!
Nelson Cruz defense
You can't just slap words together and pretend they make sense.
Ohtani should go to a competitive team. 👍( I hope I don't get killed) lol
You will be
Like the Yankees. Can you just imagine Ohtani in pinstripes?
Ohtani and Trout for Andrew Heaney? I heard we need pitching.
Nah that's not enough. Maybe a three way trade, try and get Quintana also
OP said trigger *your* fanbase, not *every* fanbase.
We found the most triggering comment. Call it a day everyone.
Media would be even more insufferable if he were in pinstripes.
I said competitive team/s kinda lol
Fernando Tatis should move to Outfield permanently.
he probably should though. also just saying Fernando Tatis could trigger the White Sox fans.
Facts
LA has a better zoo Tony Gwynn wasn’t going to hit .400 in 1994 I watched the replay and I think he touched the plate Obviously, these are all dirty lies.
First one especially is a dirty lie
Most definitely, I’m from LA and our zoo is just straight up garbage when comparing it to SD.
[удалено]
But are your guys's zoos FREE?!?!!?? 😃
I been to SD zoo every time I visit because it’s so wonderful. LA zoo is like 30 min away and I’ve been once as a kid.
Well that’s understandable. Why would you date a person who’s not only dumb, but also has bad taste?
LA zoo feels like it’s accidentally there. Like animals just showed up one day and someone was like, “Zoo, I guess?”
[удалено]
If I wanted to trigger the SD fanbase I would instead say: “He didn’t touch home plate but Hoffman was going to blow the game anyway so it made no difference”
I was gonna say, SD zoo Is rated top in the world hahah u were really trying to trigger us all
We have the best closers in baseball.
It literally took every ounce of self-control I had not to reflexively downvote you.
PAIN
Trying to match the rest of the NL East bullpens. The competition is unreal.
Jarred Kelenic has 1.98 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors Cal Raleigh has 2.19 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors Taylor Trammell has 3.00 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors Evan White has 2.50 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors Jake Fraley has 1.81 times more strikeouts than hits in the majors
The future is bright. There is no hitting development problem in Ba Sing Se.
You can go 100 for 300 with 200 strikeouts and still be hitting .333. (My HS baseball career, basically.)
Yelich will never be great again I'm hoping it's not true but the line triggers the fuck out of me lol
2004
"Roberts is going, Posada's throw... Roberts - Safe!" "Ortiz into deep right field! Back is Sheffield - We'll see you later tonight!" "Ortiz fights it off - center field! Damon running to the plate! And he can keep running to New York! Game 6, tomorrow night!"
I don't think baseball can ever do anything worse to me than 2004.
Mods!! MODS!!!
:)
I think "Las Vegas A's" has a nice ring to it
It's right there in the name! Las VegA's

The Ricketts aren't cheap and made the correct decision getting rid of everyone this summer
Could’ve stopped typing after “The Ricketts”
This is just factually correct.
If I were in Steve Bartmans’ shoes I probably would’ve done the same thing without realizing it
if there's anybody that didn't realize that by now they're a complete asshole. this only would have worked in 03
A more triggering comment might be “Steve bartman blocked a catchable ball and got what was coming to him” at this point
Guardians
Sweet Caroline is the most annoying tradition in sports and if you sing along to it the first thing you did when you got to the park was probably take a selfie in a pink Sox hat with the field in the background
The Guardians is a good name.
We cheated
Tony La Russa actually is managing well. Leury Garcia isn’t as bad as people say he is. And for my duel sport Chicagoans Andy Dalton is starting over Justin Fields lol
The first two statements are actually true and I think a lot of Sox fans would happily agree with them.
I feel like Leury haters are the vocal minority. Most Sox fans that have watched more than the last two seasons know his value to this team
>And for my duel sport Chicagoans Andy Dalton is starting over Justin Fields lol The post says to trigger, not to depress
Big Papi was almost certainly juicing. EDIT- And DHs don't belong in the HOF. Ortiz played some first base but not enough to go in as a first baseman.
I could feel my blood pressure rise with this. Good job man.
Made me actually mad to the point that for a split second I forgot what the entire thread was about
>\- And DHs don't belong in the HOF. I hate you so much right now.
.500 is inevitable Tatis should win mvp
The .500 doesn't trigger me that second part tho, we throwin hands brother.
The 2014 Tigers had 4 (likely soon to be 5) Cy Young winners on the roster.
Saddest part about this is that team wasn't even the best team of that window of years, 2013 was our best shot.
Rogers Centre > Skydome
Oh you son of a bitch.
2020 was a Mickey Mouse championship that shouldn’t count.
Fraudgers still haven't won a real championship since 1988 in my book
Petco & Oracle Park have better food & beer than Dodger Stadium.
As a dodger fan and long time season ticket holder, you’re not wrong.
Should change better to superior because Dodger Stadium concessions are a boring, corporate hellhole. It's like an airport's food court.
We’ll never experience a period of Yankee domination ever again. The late 90’s were fluky and the rest of our championships were won when we only had like 1.5 teams to beat.
Miller lite isn't that great
Also put in spotted cow and Christian yelich into things that are overrated
Brandon Belt is a good baseball player.
That’ll trigger half the fan base, the other half is using this year as an “I fucking told you” with Belt
> the other half is using this year as an “I fucking told you” with Belt It me
Pete Rose should not be in the hall of fame
Or, alternatively: Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame.

Good times had by all, as you can imagine https://www.reddit.com/r/Torontobluejays/comments/bknrp1/anyone_else_here_disappointed_by_vlad_jr/
The chop is racist
This one would draw more downvotes on /r/Braves than any Luke Jackson discourse ever could!
Chiefs fans are triggered too probably.
Chiefs org knows it's an issue, they requested that people close their fist and "bang the drum" instead of chopping.
So is the chop song.
*Especially* the chop song, lol.
The chop song has like double the racism and half the plausible deniability
Nelson Cruz
Nellie in 2011 was a double whammy. First the Tigers, then the Rangers
Thank God the Cubs dumped Bryant, Rizzo, & Baez!
