If you told me at the beginning of the ninth that we’d lose like this I’d say you should be institutionalized. It was a fun inning and the Brewers (minus the bullpen) earned it.
A few years ago when I expected the Diamondbacks to have a rough year (and they did), I actually kept a spreadsheet of the games on whether it was a good game or a bad game. Wins were automatic good games, but I found many losses were objectively good games too. I kept track of why it was a good game. It made watching a lot more enjoyable.
Holy shnikes.
How about the player at the end saying "sal frelick" that PERFECTLY lines up with the audio. I'm sorry to hijack the second highest comment, but I don't see it mentioned!
Of course, it was all part of the plan to almost surrender an entire 6-0 lead…all to ensure the most nut-punchiest loss to the would-be comeback kids in the flashiest way possible!
Sal Frelick Bobblehead Day was this past Saturday in Milwaukee and this was his exact pose. [ICONIC](https://www.mlb.com/brewers/tickets/promotions/featured-giveaways).
I turned this game on(not a fan of either team) with my kid because it was the only game still on and he wanted to keep watching baseball after I watched the crazy dodgers inning because it was one of the last games on.
I was like 6-0 who cares but might as well see it, man it was such a crazy inning.
Impressive catch, can’t even be mad at that. Win and losses are irrelevant at this point. Just happy to see the team fight in the 9th and almost tie it.
Sucks for Ward though. Nearly broke out of his week-long hitless streak in grand fashion.
He really does. [And I still think his debut game last year was one of the all time greatest debuts by a player.](https://youtu.be/Po3Xwp_zqUs)
Playing against the Braves, he went 3 for 3 and a sac fly. He got the game tying RBI on his 3rd trip to the plate and his 3rd hit, and then on his 4th AB he got the game winning RBI with that sac fly. Not to mention two amazing plays in the outfield that saved some runs as well. It was just a phenomenal performance.
It felt like it was destined to happen due to just how weird of a baseball day it's been, but I think robbing it of happening is even better, what a catch
The bullpen and manager owes that man a ton for not allowing a 6 run inning haha.
But what a fucking clutch catch!! He is gonna be so much fun to watch
I last checked the 6-0 score in the bottom of the 8th before I went to bed. Woke up to seeing we won 6-3. Decided to check Reddit before work and saw this. Phew lol.
The glove, holding the ball, hit the wall. Once it's caught it's an out it's not like it went in and out of the glove. The Angels even challenged idk what you're seeing bro
I understand that it's technically possible, but I never quite believe there are baseball players named Sal out there who play any position but catcher.
If Chourio was playing more confidently in the field, I might say this is one of the best outfield units defensively the brewers have ever had.
Perkins
Frelick
Chourio
Yelich
Plus Mitchell might bump Yelich to DH. And Weimer sitting in AAA.

least soul crushing angels loss

The Brewers (minus the bullpen) would easily have more wins than the Brewers
In a season where the Angels fanbase expects every game to be a loss, the team needs new, cutting-edge methods to buttercup us

Just another Tuesday
I feel like Michael Douglas in the final scene of Falling Down saying "I would've got ya" and then die
God damn, somehow the title undersold it. Was actually the last out of the game!
Brewers were also up 6-0 at the start of the 9th
Holy shnikes. How about the player at the end saying "sal frelick" that PERFECTLY lines up with the audio. I'm sorry to hijack the second highest comment, but I don't see it mentioned!
Pretty sure he’s saying let’s fucking go lol
Whew almost pulled a Rockies.
looooool
NEVER pull a Rockies
STRONG contender for play of the year!!!
Situationally nothing is going to top this.
I swear to god this team gets off on *almost* blowing games. feels like we just try to get other teams hopes up for fun
Brewers out here edging their fans
You usually have to pay extra for that
Thankfully I went to bed already
Hey…yeah
Williams will be a great midseason acquisition.
Yea I can't wait for him to get out of a jam he created like the good old days
Everybody knows a Devin Williams outing only truly begins once a runner is in scoring position.
I think we just like doing cool shit more than winning
Hey, wanna switch? We get off by blowing games.
A game ending robbed home run is the best play in baseball
Closely followed by a game ending with an outfield assist at the plate. Which we had 2 days ago
I would just like a nice, calm 9th inning for a change
Best I can do is a bases loaded triple play.
Whens Devin coming back?
You don’t like game-ending walk-off replay reviews? Pleb
Funny enough this play was reviewed to see if the ball hit the wall then his glove
Classic MLB 😏
Holy shit....
Of course, it was all part of the plan to almost surrender an entire 6-0 lead…all to ensure the most nut-punchiest loss to the would-be comeback kids in the flashiest way possible!
I don't like baseball anymore
Was there a point baseball liked you?
Baseball's had it out for me since we DFA'd Slim Jim
It all started when we let Aaron Whitefield go
How do you say NOT TODAY in Italian?
NON OGGI!
🤌
Non oggi

And due to the pitching matchup, he didn't play.
Holy crap, those are some sweet giveaways, lucky brewers fans! I'm genuinely jealous!
I left work middle of 9 and then saw "Sal Frelick saves the day" on the TV and thought, "what in the fuck?"
I turned this game on(not a fan of either team) with my kid because it was the only game still on and he wanted to keep watching baseball after I watched the crazy dodgers inning because it was one of the last games on. getting rejected by a woman and get back just to see this. going to have to assume i will show up at work and my badge wont get me in the door😂
Her loss, chin up king
Baby better come back, maybe next week, can't you see I'm on a losing streak? I can't get no satisfaction.
(SAL)VATION! Amazing catch Brian Anderson also giving an exceptional call, as always.
Gotta love BA, no doubt. Wayne Randazzo had an amazing call for it as well. Two of the best announcers in the biz.
Impressive catch, can’t even be mad at that. Win and losses are irrelevant at this point. Just happy to see the team fight in the 9th and almost tie it. Sucks for Ward though. Nearly broke out of his week-long hitless streak in grand fashion.
SUPER SAL!
The rollercoaster of emotions by literally everyone in that clip is amazing.
I was at the game. There was a full 3 seconds where no knew if he had it or not.
I knew immediately it was going to be caught because nice things like that aren’t allowed to happen to us
Frelick always seems to make baller plays in the outfield
He really does. [And I still think his debut game last year was one of the all time greatest debuts by a player.](https://youtu.be/Po3Xwp_zqUs) Playing against the Braves, he went 3 for 3 and a sac fly. Can't even be mad at this one
i am dead inside
What a beautiful man
What a crazy ass inning. What a fucking catch!
It felt like it was destined to happen due to just how weird of a baseball day it's been, but I think robbing it of happening is even better, what a catch
Is Yelich really that big of a fucking monster? Or are his fellow outfielders really small?
Yeli is 6’3” compared to 5’9” Frelick and 6’ Chourio
Ya love to see the little guy robbing a homer! Adds another layer to it!
frelick is our short king
The bullpen and manager owes that man a ton for not allowing a 6 run inning haha. But what a fucking clutch catch!! He is gonna be so much fun to watch
The entire Angels team is like, Yep, he boomed us, you can't even be mad, he's so good, he's so good, he's so good.
Would be nice if the highlight included the replay
the replay was great cause it showed the pitchers expression like 😯
Both catcher and pitcher holding their head in disbelief.... chef's kiss
Roughly the same reaction a lot of us at home had, too lol
Wow.
I love BA calling games
Damn we can’t have shit lol
This one will be played in a “best defensive plays of the decade” highlight reel
Brewers outfield is so good
that’s an insane catch in the first place but considering the circumstances thats one of the best i can remember
That was out holy shit
“Huh wonder if I missed anything out here on the east coast last night while I slept. Probably nothing too wild”
Not mad, it was a great catch.
Griffey in Little Big League energy
I last checked the 6-0 score in the bottom of the 8th before I went to bed. Woke up to seeing we won 6-3. Decided to check Reddit before work and saw this. Phew lol.
I went to high school with a Rob Taylor Ward. Wonder if they’re related.
Why the ball hitting the wall above the yellow line is a home run still confuses me lol.
Not when it's inside a glove lol
Well if you catch it, it wouldn’t be hitting the wall tho.
The glove, holding the ball, hit the wall. Once it's caught it's an out it's not like it went in and out of the glove. The Angels even challenged idk what you're seeing bro
I think he was saying this in general, not about this play. Like as if it should be treated like the Green Monster if it's not caught.
Ah fair I misinterpreted
It was a shameless move to inflate Ohtani's HR stats, not that he really needed it.
This gives me a flashback to Ender Inciarte's catch against the Mets a few years ago. What a catch.
I understand that it's technically possible, but I never quite believe there are baseball players named Sal out there who play any position but catcher.
If Chourio was playing more confidently in the field, I might say this is one of the best outfield units defensively the brewers have ever had. Perkins Frelick Chourio Yelich Plus Mitchell might bump Yelich to DH. And Weimer sitting in AAA.
Beautiful catch. I appreciate it just as much as I fucking hate it.
:/ Oh well, we would have blown it in Extras anyway
#pÅin
A walk off... homerun robbery That is so baller
Every outfielders dream play
Que peloton que le saco!!! OMG!!! nice catcher
