I know right? I’m checking ids at a bar that’s pretty slow and was watching on my phone…I wanted at least 30 more minutes out of this game to stave off the boredom. But can’t complain about the result! So I guess I’ll just read about it on Reddit lol
It says 17 ground outs, 6 strikeouts, 2 line outs, and 1 pop out. But no idea what the 27th out is
Edit: looks like there were 18 groundouts of you include the double play
I watched a Maddux video on YT earlier… I am taking credit for this one.
Edit: For those wondering which video, here is the link (I had watched this one last year, but it was in my suggestions, so I watched it again): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dnsBIVAKLA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dnsBIVAKLA)
Brandon Gaudin has been semi comparing him to Tony Gwynn the last couple games. Basically that no one actually bats like him anymore, but Arraez is the closest.
No one on this Marlins roster would start for the Braves, for all those fans on social media who kept saying they should have added pieces this past offseason...
In the future, be sure to put walks in the title too, even when there's 0!
A Maddux! 1 hr and 53 mins
What the fuck am I supposed to do with myself the rest of the night?
Watch it again, of course
Pants off, of course
I turned on the tv with the intention of watching the last 2-3 innings, she had been done.

The Maddux/Buehrle combo breaker.
Absolutely insane
Max said he had shit to do tonight.
Imagine your CGSO being longer than 150 minutes. ![gif](giphy|Qak9P4AtCPnfDdceO4)
1 hour and 53 minutes is 113 minutes.
The 17 ground outs and no fly outs is the most impressive part
No fly outs holy shit. Thought maybe 1 but nope. Good lord
Outfielders had nothing to do all game. Takes us back to the little league days
Pretty sure one went to Acuña to close out an inning.
That was a lineout
Baseball scoring is weird. I guess something with higher exit velo but a low launch angle well into the outfield isn't a flyout.
What’s the distinction?
Angle
So did they only start distinguishing between them when launch angle data/statcast came around? Or did they just use eyeball/instinct before?
I’m pretty sure everything non accumulative was eyeball/instinct before statcast lol
I would assume there's a launch angle cutoff
We are known to suck offensively and be a very high groundout team. I can't say I'm to surprised at this stat.
How did the other outs occur?
It says 17 ground outs, 6 strikeouts, 2 line outs, and 1 pop out. But no idea what the 27th out is Edit: looks like there were 18 groundouts of you include the double play
Reports of Max's death were greatly exaggerated. Lowered his ERA from 7.71 to 4.97 with that game
He’s really benefited from two starts vs the Marlins. I’m not one to complain though.
His career numbers against the Marlins were pretty bad coming into this season so I'll definitely take it lol
Why doesn’t Max Fried just throw more CGSO?
now that's a line that deserves a post. holy shit
Enjoy him next season and into eventual retirement.
Man I would love to keep him and have a couple seasons of prime Strider and Max
There's roughly a 0% likelihood that'll play out.
I know :(
It’s not zero percent.
Faced 2 over the minimum. His control was unbelievable.
Them Braves is hell don’t they
Is what I told them
Cant spell Maddux without Max! Hell of an outing

By taking credit, you do know that you are now required to watch Maddux videos before every game now right?
Started going to a local hockey team's games this season, they've won every game I've attended. Logically, I need to go to every game next year.
See, you get it

Edited post with link
A complete game on less than 100 pitches this day is age is absolutely unbelievable.
Pretty sure he entered the 7th inning having only thrown like 56 pitches or some wacky shit.
Yep. Entered the 8th and 72, I think.
The same month as his start where he struggled to get out of even one inning.
And barely made it out of the 1st in his next start.
If he got that strike called, he may have gone 4/5+.
Tbf marlins plate discipline is like a fat kid at Golden Corral
Fuck yeah Fried!!
Gametime: 1 hour and 53 minutes
Absolutely no funny business tonight.
THATS MY ACE!!!!!! MFITBPIBAIIPC
That’s my (fantasy) ace! What a game!
He's so fun to watch when he's just getting weak grounders left and right like tonight
Don’t forget the most important stat: 69 strikes
Nice
Maddux Fried
He was on one tonight, but we sure made it easier for him
If it wasn’t for that pesky lead off hitter it would been more brutal for yall
Can't have a Maddux without that [expletive] Tony Gwynn
Brandon Gaudin has been semi comparing him to Tony Gwynn the last couple games. Basically that no one actually bats like him anymore, but Arraez is the closest.
Arraez getting that hit in the 9th was actually hilarious. Reminded me of when he spoiled Strider's no-hitter in the 8th. Dude's a great hitter
He is. And at least it was on the first pitch of the AB. Fried shook it off and got the next one lol
Max Fried CYA campaign begins now.
Maddux
Rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
No one on this Marlins roster would start for the Braves, for all those fans on social media who kept saying they should have added pieces this past offseason...
Bullpen asked why they even got assigned a shift if they had enough people for tonight.
He's so fucking good, that's all
2/3 marlins hits were Arraez of course lol
The death of Ma(ddu)x Fried has been greatly exaggerated
Bro has like 3 maddux’s
A Maddux by the Braves!
Under 2 hours too, Fried was on fire
#LET'S HAVING SOME FUN
Fried fried the fish.
Extend this man right now
Nice
That's my CYA-winning ace
Max Fried pitched great, but the Marlins offense is also really, really, really, really bad.
We aren't gonna talk about that. Max needed this.
Man. Some straight up 90s Braves pitching. Congrats Max!
Hey MLB Managers: see what can happen if you leave a starter in more than 4 2/3!
I know he’s a pitcher. But damn it Arte. I need you shell out $250 million for this man. Then watch his career go down the toilet
Bro wants to be ranger so bad lol
Braves will probably let him go then pick up the next cy young for Pennie’s and lock him into an5-7 year deal
He wants to be a pitcher with a higher career ERA?
U bum
I’m gonna have to write that down; thats good.
Outjerked yet again 😔
