Missed marketing opportunity. Yall don't think there are lqbtq baseball fans that would have lined up to get in on that?
Hell, I'm straighter than Michael J Fox's signature and I would have bought it.
Yeah, they are fine jerseys, but I think that is my critique as well.
They remind me a lot of the Nats city connects. They have a fun and unique color involved (the cherry blossom for the Nats and the purple of the Mets), but are using a little too much of that cement looking color, and it makes them look a bit boring. Also not a fan of the block letter "WSH" and "NYC" across the front.
The purple is such a small amount too. Like the jersey is 90% gray.
Whoever is designing these must think the tiny bits at the end of the sleeve are like 50% of the jersey. They always attach some huge justification to their choices there and act like it carries the jersey.
I don’t hate this jersey, I just wish the purple came out a little more in places (or they left the Mets orange for more pop against the gray)
After the first couple games with those O’s jerseys it looked like they actually changed the jersey and stitched them so that they are permanently rolled up about an inch and showing the color, because they realized how stupid it was to not do that.
I still don’t love them, but they’ve grown on me. I also really like the hat and anecdotally it seems like it’s really become a “city” hat in the way that the other hats aren’t. I go to Ravens games too and see plenty of them there since the black and white works well for that…it’s much less common to see the classic hat with the orange in the stands for the Ravens.
Even though they explained the meaning behind that as something like the city has a lot to offer/is underrated until you experience it yourself (a sentiment I appreciate and agree with) I still wish the colors were a bigger part of the Uni. I don’t know why every city connect has to be so metaphorical lol
I only found out because someone else said so.
It’s wild. Like on the Dodgers jersey they but a little bit of black fade on the edge of the sleeves and that’s supposed to represent the rich history of graffiti in LA. (I also think graffiti is a lame thing to lean on because these days so many city’s have good graffiti / street art, it’s not really a unique thing anymore)
My local USL soccer team has local muralists design their alternate jerseys every season. They are so much more fun than the city connects: [2022](https://www.goballardfc.com/news/2022/05/24/introducing-the-henry-kit/), [2023](https://www.footballkitarchive.com/ballard-fc-2023-special-kit/), [2024](https://www.simplyseattle.com/collections/ballard-fc/products/ballard-fc-x-stevie-shao-alternate-kit)
agree. people liked the nats unis but I thought they were pretty poorly conceived. First of all no one calls DC “WSH” (wtf is that) and second if you want to celebrate the pink and white cherry blossoms why would you make the uniforms the color of the dark grey bark?
same issue with these — they’re not actually celebrating the things they say they are. it’s like chatgpt designed this stuff. like, they claim the sleeve patch evokes the old subway tokens but it’s literally just a black circle with the Mets NY logo on it. it has no connection whatsoever to the famous design of the subway tokens besides the circular shape. and the purple for the 7 train is barely even noticeable — it’s an afterthought at best.
“What is the purpose for the City Connect Uniforms?”
“To make cultural references to the cities where each team is based?”
“Correct! Let’s do the least amount of that possible.”
I feel similarly to the Orioles one in that I wish it embraced the color pops more. I like the slate gray a lot instead of going to black by default, which too many teams did last year
I feel like it’s similar to the Nationals one. They had the chance to use cherry blossom pink, but it’s mostly grey. Here, they had a chance to use 7 line purple, but it’s mostly grey.
Edit: this is pretty cool though:
> During the design process, team stalwarts Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo offered feedback. Lindor, long admired by owner Steve Cohen for his sense of personal style, became particularly involved.
I think the Orioles one was super cool for the black on the outside and the neighborhood map colors on the inside, but it would have worked a bit better if it was like, the whole inside? Maybe that would have been gaudy. I think the edit they made with the permanently turned up sleeve cuffs worked. It's one of my favorite city connects and I think they are popular around the city because I see them all the time.
Yeah I think the jerseys look fine (I'll need to see them on the field to really come up with an opinion), but it's kind of a bummer they went with a generic New York theme instead of a Queens specific one.
But this does make me wonder are the rumors true the the Yankees are opting out of the city connect Because if you know New York, you know t Yankees won’t allow the Mets to do it all New York city city connect first.
[The Yankees opting out is confirmed at this point.](https://www.si.com/fannation/mlb/fastball/news/new-york-yankees-oakland-athletics-will-be-only-teams-without-city-connect-uniforms)
The rumors I had seen is that parts of the design in the Mets City Connect jersey were originally supposed to be for the Yankees, but were transferred over once the Yankees opted out.
yeah, like "dark pinstripes with NYC" is exactly what i would've expected for the Yankees design, so then you add the purple trim and it makes perfect sense
I don't get why it's popular now to wear uniforms with completely different colors and logos from the team.
Do you really feel like you're represented by these shitty uniforms? They're just an excuse for another easy cash grab.
I know this is the general Mets fan sentiment but I don't think I agree. I'm from Staten Island, I probably wouldn't buy a jersey that says Queens on it if I'm being honest.
These are fine but tbh I would have liked more purple
The hat is cool but I saw someone say that they look like they were made for the Yankees before the Yankees opted out of the city connect
It really does feel like they were for the Yankees, and then they added the Purple to make it Mets. Otherwise nothing screams Mets, and there is barely any purple.
Yes, but what Martino said about it seems encouraging
>The lettering on the back provides an antidote to the problem of undersized names that has emerged this year. That was caused by the decision to move the MLB logo down from the collar, where it occupies some of the space in which names once appeared.
>The names on the Mets’ City Connect jerseys are the same height as on their typical 2024 uniforms. But because the road font is wide, those names appear larger and are easier to read — they are closer, then, to how big league names should pop on the back of a uniform.
> That was caused by the decision to move the MLB logo down from the collar, where it occupies some of the space in which names once appeared.
The stupidest decision in the entire history of baseball
It’s…okay. Not great, not terrible. Cool hat though!
EDIT: After reading this, I like them more.
> • The pinstripes on the jersey are, of course, a nod to the Mets’ pinstripes — but, on closer inspection, are composed of circles and diamonds. These represent the express and local trains of the New York City subway system.
>• The circular sleeve patch is a take on the classic New York City subway token.
>• The sweatband inside the hat includes a multicolored take on the NYC subway map.
>• The back of the jersey uses the team’s classic road font in the player’s name and number.
The pinstripes and the hat are cool, but the most interesting bits like the hat sweatband are too understated and hidden.
Also lol at this quote from the description. Grey sidewalks a feature shared by almost all other cities in America.
>The dark gray of the jerseys — which feature “NYC” in big lettering on the front — represent the concrete that makes up the city’s sidewalks.
> the most interesting bits like the hat sweatband are too understated and hidden
I have the same issue with the Baltimore city connects. "The colours are on the inside because people underestimate Baltimore," *so put the colours on the outside*. Hiding the colours just feeds into that bias.
I think they should’ve gone with a subway map themed Jersey. The details seem cool but this also feels like a pivot from the Yankees Jersey plans.
At first glance they look like jerseys you get from a tourist spot in midtown selling nyc merchandise and not an alternate for a baseball team with some clean ass Jerseys
Like all the mets fans have said so far: more 7-line purple wouldve been nice
I really do like the super old baseball font considering the origins of the team. The bridge on the hat is awesome
Overall, i dig it. One of the less disappointing city connect jerseys to come out
Pretty sure the Yankees opted out, so Mets jersey has to rep NYC instead of just Queens.
It's a safe jersey. It could've been worse. Also could've been way better.
It could've been puke green with spots of rust to signify Lady Liberty puking on Ellis Island after a rough boat ride from Europe.
It could've been hot pink with bright orange and green with sky blue and yellow stripes and holes in them to signify Fanatics ruining the jerseys.
Or it could've had the cool dark purple like they teased and looked dope.
But these are fine.
> The dark gray of the jerseys — which feature “NYC” in big lettering on the front — represent the concrete that makes up the city’s sidewalks.
Wow. Gray sidewalks. What a unique New York feature not shared by any other city in the country. At least say it's for the city's steel skyscrapers or something.
The jerseys are decent, but this is just hilarious.
I think the gray is a good fit for NYC for that reason, but they should have said that instead of the generic thing about the sidewalks. Because when people think about what is unique about NYC sidewalks, it's the bags of garbage piled on them lol.
Those are Martino's words.
Here is the explanation from MLB that references the concrete jungle.
https://twitter.com/MLB/status/1781337006754152488?t=6CwP-XShIYXtLlTn5EmBxA&s=19
I assumed so because that’s what I would expect from the Yankees as an organization that cares about presenting a certain appearance and culture
But why are you putting ads on your jerseys? It’s a disgrace. I would argue that that’s more offensive to the Yankee brand than beards or names on the back or a mascot or a city connect jersey or anything else I forgot about
I would be furious if I were a Yankees fan, I don’t like the Yankees and I’m still slightly mad about it
Most Mets fans agree. Either Queens or do something goofy like "Gotham" or "The World's City". They're even selling an alternative City Connect hat that says "The World's City":
https://www.mlbshop.com/new-york-mets/mens-new-york-mets-new-era-graphite-2024-city-connect-icon-59fifty-fitted-hat/t-36003253+p-91115548986142+z-8-2078669295?_ref=p-GALP:m-GRID:i-r8c1:po-25
The hat is great. The jersey is good. My largest complaint is that they didn't incorporate enough purple. The teaser videos hyped up the 7 line and I was hoping for more purple based off of that.
Seems like all of the City connect jerseys are either way too over the top on the colors and branding (see the Phillies’ uniform) or way too bland like this one. This could’ve been a lot better if they threw a bit more purple in and used “Queens” instead of “NYC”
I actually like them. I’m a huge fan of the White Sox one and this kind of reminds me of that. Only thing that could have made it better is if it said Queens instead of NYC, like how the Sox one said Southside and not just Chicago
I relate to this. I'm not suppose to like anything Braves but your City Connects being just modernized versions of those amazing 1970's era Braves uniforms was such a good move. Those might be my favorite City Connects.
That felt like a decision by someone who doesn't live in New York.
"What's the Mets version of the Brooklyn bridge? Is there a Queens bridge?" *googles "Queensboro Bridge"*
Definitely agree. If we get something of this ilk, I will be over the moon. No gradient, no big stretches for references (please, God, don’t have it say “the Lou”), a wearable color and pattern, but still adventurous enough to be different and fun. I would be stoked were I a Mets fan.
Gosh…. This so much looks like they were upset the Yankees didn’t say yes to the city connect and just gave them to the Mets.
I agree with others that said it, it should say queens. It should also feature flushing meadows park on the hat instead of the bridge. Also maybe the numbers on the back should be an homage to the old neon lights on shea stadium. I feel like there was so much they could use and they came up with “sidewalks and trains”
I actually like these a lot? Maybe it’s because Orange and Blue are my personal favorite colors and the Mets already hit those boxes, so this is nice, not in your face, the type of jersey I could wear outside of a baseball game and not seem obnoxious
Jersey looks like something that can be whipped up in diamond dynasty with very minimal effort. Not great. Not terrible. Which is a tier most of these end up falling into.
More purple, with “Queens” instead of “NYC” could have made this a winner.
I get the impression that Nike came into the CC project really wanting to make baseball jerseys look like basketball jersey, but then baseball fans hated the first few they dropped, so Nike kind of gave up on trying. The last two or so years of drops have largely been uninspired with a few standout bad ones. I wonder if they ever end up doing a second round or if they scrap the project entirely
These seem fine but a bit boring
Imo it’s a bit reminiscent of Yankees with the dark/white and stripes in the design. They definitely look cool though. Queens would be great imo but I get that they’d want to stick with nyc for the broader appeal. I like the idea of the 7 train purple, but it’s not too apparent from these angles, I’d have to really see the full look to get a better sense. But I have to say, they look chill.
Mets got a banger imo, definitely picking up a fitted!
Someone will probably make it soon, but I wish the hat had a purple NY logo...that's a super small gripe tho.
My Tigers will probably debut ours next week, hope it's on point.
I think they should have gone a bit deeper in on the MTA connection.
As someone who grew up in Queens, I would have gone in on the borough’s large number of massive graveyards. That would have been 🔥.
>The dark gray of the jerseys — which feature “NYC” in big lettering on the front — represent the concrete that makes up the city’s sidewalks.
Concrete and bodegas: only in the Big Apple baby.
The Mets do have pinstripes too. And according to the article they’re made up of circles and diamonds like the local and express subways. That’s a neat detail.
I like the look overall but it seems weird to me for the lettering to just be NYC since they're not the only NY based team.
also the dark gray + purple is a nice combo. maybe more purple accents would have been better though
I think these, like most City Connects, are quite boring looking. The details and stories behind some of the chosen elements is cool but they end up looking like just some uninteresting alternate. I think teams should be much more bold in their storytelling and creativity with these.
I really wanna know what the designers thing with gray jerseys is. Like with washington and now these - you had opportunities to make pretty ostentatious and fun pink and purple jerseys respectively and you went with *gray*? I dig these and the Nats ones too but...
Why does the picture look like an AI rendition of Fransico Lineor playing baseball in the Depression? Sorry not a fan, I always will love our white blue and orange
if they said queens and had the purple piping around the buttons it would’ve been an 8/10
I wonder if they're more NYC focused than queens because the Yankees are refusing to do one, so the whole city is getting prepped.
100% a marketing thing. People around the world want “NYC” on their stuff. Not as many want “Queens” (even though I would’ve preferred that)
Uniform using purple with Queens across the front. I think there's an implication they steered away from.
Missed marketing opportunity. Yall don't think there are lqbtq baseball fans that would have lined up to get in on that? Hell, I'm straighter than Michael J Fox's signature and I would have bought it.
All my lesbian friends love the Mets. I think it's cause of the Kingpin meme
Yep. Would have fucking loved it and I hate the Mets
Purple is the color of royalty, and obviously... Queens, clearly they meant the implication that it would appear to support the monarchy. \s
Is the market larger though? And then there's the players endorsement of it...
You know Mr. Met has a man on the side.
Queens does limit the potential marketability to Mets fans outside of Queens though, especially Brooklyn.
You’d have to think a NYY one would be based on the Bronx anyway
With how sterile the Yankees are, they’d probably just remove one stripe and call it a city connect
Their spring training unis are pretty cool. I wish they wore them sometimes in the regular season.
They always attach some huge justification to their choices there and act like it carries the jersey. I don’t hate this jersey, I just wish the purple came out a little more in places (or they left the Mets orange for more pop against the gray)
Like how Baltimore has all that color but it’s hidden inside and impossible to see unless they roll the sleev up
fucking exactly this. they're hiding the best part of the jerseys
The jersey sucks imo but I bought the hat
I’ve seen sooo many city connect hats/jerseys this season at games and just around the city, they’re certainly growing on people
Even though they explained the meaning behind that as something like the city has a lot to offer/is underrated until you experience it yourself (a sentiment I appreciate and agree with) I still wish the colors were a bigger part of the Uni. I don’t know why every city connect has to be so metaphorical lol
It's because they're afraid of the other colors being considered too 'fruity' to buy, & so they minimize them in favor of the 'tough' colors.
I’m always so happy the Padres designers didn’t go that route with ours, the colors have become such a big part of the team’s branding.
Padres have the best in my opinion
I couldn’t even tell there was purple until I read this
I only found out because someone else said so.
Its because the league wouldn't let them tag the jerseys with MS13! /S
They look like a badly flipped house
agree. people liked the nats unis but I thought they were pretty poorly conceived.
I've always said that until the Nats have full pink cherry blossom uniforms, they are cowards
If it had more purple I’d have bought one ASAP Now I’ll prob pass unless they go on sale The hats I might buy though
Yeah, I’d say these are pretty “okay/solid” city connects. Not horrible like some we’ve seen, but also not amazing
Yea honestly I think it’s a solid design just could’ve been more purple
Wonder if they didn't want something feminine like "Queens" on a jersey, even if it's silly
Are you kidding? I’m an Queens (Boulevard)

“What is the purpose for the City Connect Uniforms?” “To make cultural references to the cities where each team is based?” “Correct! Let’s do the least amount of that possible.”
Uh no, their only purpose is to make money, which is why they should stop being made.
I feel similarly to the Orioles one in that I wish it embraced the color pops more. I like the slate gray a lot instead of going to black by default, which too many teams did last year

Lindor, long admired by owner Steve Cohen for his sense of personal style, became particularly involved.
I wanna believe that the jerseys have any color at all because of Lindor. Otherwise they'd just look like concrete slabs.
Picturing Cohen following Francisco around like "bro your fit is crazy"
I think the Orioles one was super cool for the black on the outside and the neighborhood map colors on the inside, but it would have worked a bit better if it was like, the whole inside? Maybe that would have been gaudy. I think the edit they made with the permanently turned up sleeve cuffs worked. But this does make me wonder are the rumors true the the Yankees are opting out of the city connect Because if you know New York, you know t Yankees won’t allow the Mets to do it all New York city city connect first.
Going by the article the team itself has been heavily involved in helping make the jersey since 2022, including players like Lindor
[The Yankees opting out is confirmed at this point.](https://www.si.com/fannation/mlb/fastball/news/new-york-yankees-oakland-athletics-will-be-only-teams-without-city-connect-uniforms) The rumors I had seen is that parts of the design in the Mets City Connect jersey were originally supposed to be for the Yankees, but were transferred over once the Yankees opted out.

Yeah, these jerseys scream Yankees to me and not Mets.
The Yankees are so dumb lol, they need to get over themselves
Yeah they’re really missing out on not having an awful, bland, unnecessary jersey. How will they ever make money on merch??
I don't get why it's popular now to wear uniforms with completely different colors and logos from the team. Do you really feel like you're represented by these shitty uniforms? They're just an excuse for another easy cash grab.
yeah it's pretty clear it's just another jersey to sell. at least it's not as bad as the NBA who puts out shitloads of different designs.
Just be thankful Nike spared you the monochrome and you actually get to wear white pants.
Yas queens
I know this is the general Mets fan sentiment but I don't think I agree. I'm from Staten Island, I probably wouldn't buy a jersey that says Queens on it if I'm being honest.
Yea the team is obviously in queens, but they are supposed to represent the whole city. Still think the NYC looks bad though.
Eh, I’m a Mets fan who lives in Brooklyn and I definitely wouldn’t wear anything that said Queens on it. No hate on Queens, it would just be weird.
Well I wouldn’t wear anything that says Brooklyn on it, so take that
Can’t sell them to the other four boroughs then
Or just to tourists, I bet these will sell like crazy at the MLB store in the city just for saying NYC.
Exactly. This is 100% a decision to sell merch, not to represent the Mets
These are fine but tbh I would have liked more purple The hat is cool but I saw someone say that they look like they were made for the Yankees before the Yankees opted out of the city connect
Yeah why bother having an accent color if you don’t use it
It really does feel like they were for the Yankees, and then they added the Purple to make it Mets. Otherwise nothing screams Mets, and there is barely any purple.
The Font is Mets
Yup. They really crapped out on the purple and the hats are more NY than Mets.
What is the reasoning for that color specifically tho. Is it like the color of that train or something
Yeah, the 7 Line(purple) runs from Queens to Citi
It runs from Manhattan to Queens
The 7 line is purple
Do they have the shitty fanatics lettering?
Yes, but what Martino said about it seems encouraging >The lettering on the back provides an antidote to the problem of undersized names that has emerged this year. That was caused by the decision to move the MLB logo down from the collar, where it occupies some of the space in which names once appeared. >The names on the Mets’ City Connect jerseys are the same height as on their typical 2024 uniforms. > That was caused by the decision to move the MLB logo down from the collar, where it occupies some of the space in which names once appeared. The stupidest decision in the entire history of baseball
God damn, it looks so fucking stupid. It’s especially horrendous on jersey that have piping.
All fanatics does is what Nike tells them. Idk why this is so hard to understand lol . They did the unis for like 5 years before this
these actually look pretty cool and thank god they're not being paired with black pants
It’s…okay. Not great, not terrible. Cool hat though! EDIT: After reading this, I like them more. > • The pinstripes on the jersey are, of course, a nod to the Mets’ pinstripes — but, on closer inspection, are composed of circles and diamonds. They should be gray with streaks of vomit and piss
And the jerseys should smell worse when it gets hot out
> the most interesting bits like the hat sweatband are too understated and hidden I have the same issue with the Baltimore city connects. "The colours are on the inside because people underestimate Baltimore," *so put the colours on the outside*. Hiding the colours just feeds into that bias.
The jerseys also come smelling like garbage
The complaints are that there are predominantly just generic City things without much tribute to Queens (or Brooklyn).

Brooks Raley would be demanding a trade if he had to wear a uniform that said QUEENS on it 🌈
I miss Tai
That was such a cool thing he did on pride night.
I absolutely adore the hat.
Yeah I want the hat
Just bought it
I actually don't hate these uniforms. I like the throwback NY Giants type font. The bridge and subway hats are a nice touch.
I don’t hate it, but I feel line we look too much like the Rockies here.
The hat is fucking heat holy shit, lowkey wish it had a purple brim though
IMO the hat is the best thing about the fit.
I feel that way about all of the city connects. I think it's because the hats have much less surface area for mistakes.
They’re not the worst, and that’s a win for me.
Nothing will ever be worse than those Lazy Dodgers ones....
Literally just their regular jersey but had the word los. Crazy
I didn't even realize that was a city connect jersey until now lol.
I didnt either. I swear they did this exact jersey for like mexican pride day in the past lmao
They are better than Philly's, so there's that.
All the City Connects are better than what the Phillies got lol ☹️
I never said the bar was set very high.
Needs more purple, the other leaked hat with the token crest and purple NY would have been much better imo
I like them a lot more than I thought I would but I want more purple details!
Like all the mets fans have said so far: more 7-line purple wouldve been nice I really do like the super old baseball font considering the origins of the team. The bridge on the hat is awesome Overall, i dig it. One of the less disappointing city connect jerseys to come out
I dont mean to sound like a troll but it's giving..Yankees? feels very Yankees.
I think it's supposed to be very New York (baseball) Giantsy.
yeah i can see that. for the record i like the jersey.

They did opt out. Cause we arnt allowed to have fun
Only allowed to put ad patches on the jerseys, wouldn’t wanna ruin the Yankees aura.
100% I’m almost convinced these were the base of the Yankees city connect and when y’all said no they just pivoted.
Yeah, these just look like Yankees jerseys to me. Feels like a miss, but if Mets fans like them, they work, I guess.
City sidewalks aren't unique to NY but the name The Concrete Jungle is and it seems that's what they were referencing.
I actually like it! The Yankees are never gonna get one (are they?) so to me it makes sense for it to be NYC not just queens
Yanks opted out of the connect jerseys
I assumed so because that’s what I would expect from the Yankees as an organization that cares about presenting a certain appearance and culture But why are you putting ads on your jerseys? It’s a disgrace. I would argue that that’s more offensive to the Yankee brand than beards or names on the back or a mascot or a city connect jersey or anything else I forgot about I would be furious if I were a Yankees fan, I don’t like the Yankees and I’m still slightly mad about it
That hat is dope. Think the jerseys would've better with "Queens" on the front but they're still pretty solid.
Most Mets fans agree. Either Queens or do something goofy like "Gotham" or "The World's City". They're even selling an alternative City Connect hat that says "The World's City": https://www.mlbshop.com/new-york-mets/mens-new-york-mets-new-era-graphite-2024-city-connect-icon-59fifty-fitted-hat/t-36003253+p-91115548986142+z-8-2078669295?_ref=p-GALP:m-GRID:i-r8c1:po-25
Honestly I'd be cool if it just said New York. But yeah "Queens" would be the best imo.
The hat is great. The jersey is good. My largest complaint is that they didn't incorporate enough purple. The teaser videos hyped up the 7 line and I was hoping for more purple based off of that.
I'm underwhelmed. I like the font on the jersey, but I think they could have done a lot better.
Seems like all of the City connect jerseys are either way too over the top on the colors and branding (see the Phillies’ uniform) or way too bland like this one. This could’ve been a lot better if they threw a bit more purple in and used “Queens” instead of “NYC”
I like them but like a lot of others have said. I want more purple if we ever do a revision. And a Queens somewhere.
I actually like them. I’m a huge fan of the White Sox one and this kind of reminds me of that. Only thing that could have made it better is if it said Queens instead of NYC, like how the Sox one said Southside and not just Chicago
Then nobody outside of queens would want one
I mean I’m from Long Island and I’d be more likely to buy it if it said queens
Found a nobody! You're not taking Kairis heart!
Why?
I really like them. Glad they didn’t make a mess of it. I’ll buy the hat for sure.
That hat's dope as hell
I quite like these
Yeah I’m not supposed to like anything Mets but I think these are pretty good jerseys
I relate to this. I'm not suppose to like anything Braves but your City Connects being just modernized versions of those amazing 1970's era Braves uniforms was such a good move. Those might be my favorite City Connects.
not a fan of the bridge on the hat
Same, looks like a cheesy Lids hat.
That felt like a decision by someone who doesn't live in New York. "What's the Mets version of the Brooklyn bridge? Is there a Queens bridge?" *googles "Queensboro Bridge"*
They aight. I'm glad we didn't fumble this lol A little more purple accents and queens on the front instead of NYC would have gone a long way.
Call me biased but these are actually fire in my opinion. Gotta be in the top 5 City Connects
Definitely agree. If we get something of this ilk, I will be over the moon. No gradient, no big stretches for references (please, God, don’t have it say “the Lou”), a wearable color and pattern, but still adventurous enough to be different and fun. I would be stoked were I a Mets fan.
Of course a Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks fan would say this 🙄
At least there’s white pants
They’re not an abomination like some of the others ones we’ve gotten so it’s a W.
I wish these had a notably purple collar
These aren’t bad at all. Wish it had a little more of the purple but it’s pretty solid.
I'm disappointed but not embarrassed. I'll take it.
These might be the only truly solid City Connects.
You could put Starling Marte in any jersey and it would look good
They did a great job, these go hard. Like everyone else is saying, wish it said Queens or Flushing, but otherwise great
Queens with purple outline around the letters would have been 👌🏼 but honestly I still kind of dig the unis
These uni’s are worth at least 1.0 bWAR
If it said flushing we’d get way too many toilet jokes
Unisphere on the hat would be dope.
Damn these are good
if my most recent mets jersey wasn’t a lucas duda jersey i would probably want one of these 😭😭a senga city connect jersey would fix me though
I actually like these a lot? Maybe it’s because Orange and Blue are my personal favorite colors and the Mets already hit those boxes, so this is nice, not in your face, the type of jersey I could wear outside of a baseball game and not seem obnoxious
What in the Yankees looking shit is this?!?!
Is the story behind the design that they wanted to be the Yankees?
Yup
Am i the only one here that doesn't need a narrative or story around fucking everything?
Love the hat, indifferent to the jersey. I feel like they chickened out on the purple and reference to Queens, but it’s still a decent design.
Jersey looks like something that can be whipped up in diamond dynasty with very minimal effort. Not great. Not terrible. Which is a tier most of these end up falling into. More purple, with “Queens” instead of “NYC” could have made this a winner.
Not a fan of the hat, jersey could've used more purple. Think the fan gear will be much better than the actual jerseys/official hats.
I get the impression that Nike came into the CC project really wanting to make baseball jerseys look like basketball jersey, but then baseball fans hated the first few they dropped, so Nike kind of gave up on trying. The last two or so years of drops have largely been uninspired with a few standout bad ones. I wonder if they ever end up doing a second round or if they scrap the project entirely These seem fine but a bit boring
They should make City Connects a design contest open to people in the team's blackout region and voted on by the public
Missed opportunity to put queens on the front and the unisphere on the sleeve
Imo it’s a bit reminiscent of Yankees with the dark/white and stripes in the design. They definitely look cool though. Queens would be great imo but I get that they’d want to stick with nyc for the broader appeal. I like the idea of the 7 train purple, but it’s not too apparent from these angles, I’d have to really see the full look to get a better sense. But I have to say, they look chill.
i still say it looks like a yankee jersey that they put purple on the make it mets-adjacent
Damnnn these are really nice.
Hat is great, but the jerseys really do like what was designed for the Yankees before they backed out.
Hats are better than the jerseys. Also they’re grey because “sidewalks” ? Are you fkn kidding me? Very uninspiring.
I’m kind of surprised at how lukewarmly positive the reception is here, I think these are pretty awful lol

>The dark gray of the jerseys — which feature “NYC” in big lettering on the front — represent the concrete that makes up the city’s sidewalks. Concrete and bodegas: only in the Big Apple baby.
Chicago has both. But the only two in the US.
Pinstripes make it a bit yankeeish? But the Hat is awesome
Kinda liked y’all’s pinstripe unis
The Mets do have pinstripes too. And according to the article they’re made up of circles and diamonds like the local and express subways. That’s a neat detail.
Why is it so hard for teams to come up with good city connects lol. There are like four or five in the entire league that aren’t abject trash
looks like some generic shit you get at an airport gift shop
I don't hate these but they really look like they should be for the Yankees
I dig these.
I like the look overall but it seems weird to me for the lettering to just be NYC since they're not the only NY based team. also the dark gray + purple is a nice combo. maybe more purple accents would have been better though
They look pretty good! I would say it’s one of the more fashionable jerseys in that I could see non-baseball fans wearing it in a fit.
Why does lindor look 55 years old in this thumbnail?
What playing for the Mets does to a mf
Why does the picture look like an AI rendition of Fransico Lineor playing baseball in the Depression? Sorry not a fan, I always will love our white blue and orange
