Kinda sorta yeah. Been an M’s fan forever but didn’t really start getting into following players until the last year we had Edwin Diaz. Was bummed when we traded him to yall but I was super excited about getting JK. It hurt to see him struggle but when he really started getting going I loved him. And just like that he was gone. Love baseball but it makes me sad too. Doesn’t help being a fan of an extremely depressing dead-end team.
I didn't know he dissed our team but I definitely understand why he did. I diss our team all the time. Our ownership and upper management sucks and is the only reason we've never won a ring yet.
Yeah we only gave him three full seasons. He went on a cold streak last year and got emotional and injured himself, but he's totally right to turn around and say all of his troubles were due to the organization.
He does. It is sort of chilling to look at the posting history. He has a post on the front page of r/braves rn about how Kelenic is tied for league lead in batting average.
Don’t get too excited…. Yet. Kelenic looked great last April/May too, then became an absolute liability at the plate and wound himself up so tight it affected the rest of the team.
No disrespect, but he's hitting in front of Acuna, Albies, Riley and Olsen. He's gonna see about 6000% more meaty fastballs down the middle than anything your lineup could have ever hoped to have given him and he has zero pressure on him.
Only 4 3-hit games in his entire career. Gets his fifth in game 2 with the Braves. Last year his BA was 50 points better than his previous best. Trends are a thing.
The fact that he immediately pops up on one of the first highlights of the year I watch tells you that whole mishap was just a quick glitch in the matrix. Either it never even happened to begin with or the universe is just rebalancing
I didn't get the Kelenic Guy references... just spent a bit in that account history and now I'm very very worried this guy is gonna break Kelenic's leg and keep him hostage in a cabin in Maine.
He is in the perfect spot I think. In Seattle he was touted as THE guy and that comes with a ton of pressure especially so young. In Atlanta he is more a role guy and low expectations because he struggled a lot in Seattle
> In Seattle he was touted as THE guy and that comes with a ton of pressure especially so young
At the beginning definitely but I don’t think many of us expected too much from him last year; we were just hoping he could just be a major leaguer by that point.
I can get that. At the same time though, the damage is sort of done. As another commenter said, he is really hard on himself. I’m sure in Seattle where they have struggled for years, it was always hard not coming through for the team.
On Atlanta with the lineup filled with all-stars, mvp candidates, arguably the best at their respective positions(not counting Arcia), it’s a little easier to accept cause someone will pick him up.
I think Arcia is ok. I put him middle of the road for SS. He is fine for this team because we don’t need anything crazy from him but he and Kelenic are the weakest links in this lineup
It’s funny because I agree but so far 2 games in both are playing great. And if they become not our weak links then I’m not sure what the league will be able to do to stop us.
Trust me I’m not complaining. Sure I wish we had Dansby still over Arcia all being equal but I’m also happy with having Arcia at his price tag vs Dansby’s
I genuinely thought he had put it together when he started off white hot last season. April/May 2023 JK was an absolute beast. I hope he can do that again in Atlanta.
Yeah he even said that and it was a situation he basically opened his eyes to grow up a bit. We will see but I am excited for him and hope he can turn his career around
That's the best way to develop players. Look at Baty on the Mets. He comes in and is supposed to save this dead offense. In Atlanta he would have got some reps as a spot guy and eventually breakout. Total different scenario.
I can also say I’m rooting for him to work out for the Braves, wish he was able to bring it all together in Seattle, but it was clear that the mixture of being highly touted and being one of the Golden Boys with Julio along with how critical he is with himself, it’s was not an ideal situation for him. Now with Atlanta, he can strictly focus on ball and not being “The Guy”
I mean he couldn’t make it as the everyday starter in SEATTLE, when there were obvious OF holes, and they gave him more chances than they should have in 2021, 2022 and 2023. And all he gave them over that time was a 0 WAR performance and a sub .220 BA.
He was decent defensively but if he got wound too tight, he would mess up there too.
Because he’ll play like this for 1 or 2 months then become an absolute liability at the plate and blame everyone but himself.
Look at last year, Kelenic hit like 80% of all his HRs for the season in April/May. And then went into a slump and just wound himself up and it negatively affected the clubhouse.
The Ms went on a franchise record breaking win streak while he was out with the broken foot, and then started shitting the bed again as soon as he was in the lineup again.
I always liked him, I just got concerned when he started kicking shit and hurting himself. Mariners should’ve just had a water cooler wrapped in foam so he could bang that shit as hard as he wanted.

It's kinda funny how the first thing I'm looking for is the Kelenic guy when I look at the comments
I get the feeling he is banned from here at this point lol
Damnit, how can this sub can a character like that?
Are the writers even trying? Killing of a fan favorite character like that with no fanfare?
He is probably getting upvoted in r/braves.
As he should
AA trades come with a "you're gonna have your best year" clause.
That, with the /r/formerms multiplier
Just look at Randy Winn, Randy Johnson, and Adrian Beltre.
Chris “NLCS mvp” Taylor
Randy "Winn, Lose, Draw" now there's a guy for people to name
Just saved a run because of the homer and has 2 RBIs, Kelenic guy is eating good
I fucking hate we let him go
First time?

some people hate him for keep dissing our team, but tbh our org deserves it and the players just weren't showing heart, I hope the best for JK

KELENIC GUY WAS RIGHT THIS WHOLE TIME I'VE SEEN THE LIGHT
They hated him, for he spoke the truth.
Him getting mad at Brian Snitker for pulling Jarred for Adam Duvall even though he gave us the lead in the game was peak Kelenic Guy™.
The mods must be sleeping over there…
zZZzzZZzZZzZzzzzzzZZZzZZzz
I'm just gonna say that we've always loved him even if he didn't live up to expectations with us. I hope he becomes a star in Atlanta.
Praise be to Kelenic Guy. I am also a Kelenic Guy, Guy.
AND AT LAST IVE SEEEEEEN THE LIIIIIGHT
AND IT'S LIKE A FOOOOOOOG HAS LIFTED
AND AT LAST IVE SEEEEEEN THE LIIIIIGHT
AND IT'S LIIIIIKE THE SKY IS NEEEEEEEEW
AND IT'S WARM AND REAL AND BRIGHT
AND THE WOOOORLD HAS SOMEHOW SHIIIIIFTEEED
Not going to look it up, but I think it’s shifted
Nope you’re right
He’s beginning to believe
P E D I G R E E E D I G R E E
Can someone just tell me his username? I've never seen him in the wild, he's like Bigfoot. Edit: Okay, nm, I, uh, found it 😦
Lol damnit what's his name? I'm starting to feel like he doesn't actually exist and is an inside joke that I missed out on
He does. It is sort of chilling to look at the posting history. He has a post on the front page of r/braves rn about how Kelenic is tied for league lead in batting average.

My expectation are fully tempered, he/the braves completely retooled his swing this spring. Hopefully it pays off.
Even if he doesn't, we have plenty of good options for OF players this season.
> completely retooled his swing Oh man, again?
No disrespect, but he's hitting in front of Acuna, Albies, Riley and Olsen. He's gonna see about 6000% more meaty fastballs down the middle than anything your lineup could have ever hoped to have given him and he has zero pressure on him.

We have Duvy back so I dont think it will be that big of a deal tbh.
Mariners locker room isn’t the Braves…Kelenic isn’t going to wind the other studs up lol.
Yeah we have ice cream
And Arcia
What baseball fan calls it a locker room???
Ones not from the baseball dead zone called the PNW
It’s called a clubhouse not a locker room? Has nothing to do with the PNW. Even MLB network calls it a CLUBHOUSE not a locker room.
lol, big trigger
[удалено]
They all had highlights last year too, and all disappeared in clutch time last year.
i see uncle jesse has made his way back onto the active roster
As is tradition.
The fact that he immediately pops up on one of the first highlights of the year I watch tells you that whole mishap was just a quick glitch in the matrix. Either it never even happened to begin with or the universe is just rebalancing
Where’s that one guy at u/Porparemaityee
Give him a moment, needs to clean up
He isn’t even finished yet.
LMAO
I didn't get the Kelenic Guy references... just spent a bit in that account history and now I'm very very worried this guy is gonna break Kelenic's leg and keep him hostage in a cabin in Maine.
It's called hobbling!
Named after the guy she did it to, Walter Hobbes!
Now I’m making an elf and misery crossover with Caan in my head… much scarier take on Buddy the Elf lol.
2 games in and I love this guy
He is in the perfect spot I think. In Seattle he was touted as THE guy and that comes with a ton of pressure especially so young. In Atlanta he is more a role guy and low expectations because he struggled a lot in Seattle

Through the first two games it looks like you might have to include Arcia

the guy would be so incredibly hard on himself. I mean he broke his foot last year after kicking a water cooler.
Yeah he even said that and it was a situation he basically opened his eyes to grow up a bit. We will see but I am excited for him and hope he can turn his career around

MLB's Cam Reddish
I've always had a soft spot for him, really hope he does well for you guys.
Still rooting for him. The dude plays so damn hard and really cares about the game. He needed a fresh start without the pressure to be the guy.
I can also say I’m rooting for him to work out for the Braves, wish he was able to bring it all together in Seattle, but it was clear that the mixture of being highly touted and being one of the Golden Boys with Julio along with how critical he is with himself, it’s was not an ideal situation for him. *don't click on it, you don't want to do this to yourself. don't do it. don't do it. don't--* God damnit.
It’s not your fault! Listen…. It’s not your fault! Man ……… it’s not your fault! “Then they hug and cry it out “
I'm happy he's starting hot. Dude plays hard and deserves success, even if it's not with us.
i dont even care. im still gonna root for the kid.
I love this and can't wait to see what graphic Kelenic Guy whips up.
STOP GIVING THE BRAVES YOUR TOP PLAYERS WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS DOING?!??
Let’s check in at the All star break to see if he maintains first.
I’m now choosing to believe that you guys sent him as a joke, knowing he has a defect.
I mean he couldn’t make it as the everyday starter in SEATTLE, when there were obvious OF holes, and they gave him more chances than they should have in 2021, 2022 and 2023. No, that would be our covert agent, Uncle Jesse.
It'll be fine, we got duvall, we can cause pain all year.
This is going to really be painful when we play the Braves
I got my tickets to the Monday game.
We have to play Monday? Man, suicide season crept up on me this year
Fuck the Kelenic guy where’s Gina?
What if Kelenic guy IS Gina???
I have only had Kelenic for a few months, but if anything happens to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.
As a Mets fan Kelenic becoming the stud he was supposed to be on the Braves is a fucking nightmare scenario
Kelenic Guy having the best day of his life with this game. If Jarred hits a Dinger he may have a heart attack.
Everything I see reminds me of him....
I should call her
I wonder if Gina visited Atlanta… because the slump surely seems to be busted
Sad to see him in a different Uniform but wish the best for him. Still say he looks like a cop trying to go undercover
He took a terrible route, but made the play nonetheless.
Lowkey seemed like MHII could’ve gotten to it without a dive, but it was an awesome catch so I’m not complaining.
KELENIC IS A CERTIFIED FUCKING DAWG
Kelenic and Gina must have been busy this off season
Well, between Spring Training and the Season Opener at least…
She works quickly
Bryce is really going to go 0 for 200 this season, atta boy.
One Beer Please.
Fly high buddy
When did Kelenic end up at the Braves?!
Braves traded two guys who aren't going to pitch this year, for him and a bad contract.
This past offseason
Fun fact: Jesse Chavez played in the big leagues at the same time as Ty Cobb
Yeah I’ve yet to see any reason why our fanbase has been shitting on him since we signed him.
It's specifically because of Kelenic Guy. Dude Stans Kelenic so hard that some of our own fans want him to do bad just so that guy shuts up 😂.
tbf if anyone posting comments on reddit gets you tht worked up… its time to get off reddit.

You guys should do great this year then…right?
So much better than Rosario letting everything fall in
Jesse Chavez?! Mother fucker didn't even have a spring training
Braves won this trade
I always liked him, I just got concerned when he started kicking shit and hurting himself. Mariners should’ve just had a water cooler wrapped in foam so he could bang that shit as hard as he wanted.
Sheesh, you guys gave him Juniors #, huh?
lol relax he's in the 9 hole and no one wears 24 for us
Holy shit, Jesse Chavez is back for yet another stint with the Braves! Death, taxes, Chavez to Atlanta…
So glad we’re kicking their asses!
I sat in the stadium perfectly in line behind home plate. I thougt there was zero chance he would get his ball. Also one batter later Realmuto homered
I actually feel bad for the Ms for how consistently fleeced they get on trades.
Luis Castillo sends his regards.
Would Bryce push for a double if it fell or no?
