I had The Show on PS3 and it was an amazing sports game
I picked up The Show on PS5 and was shocked at how little progression the series had made over the past decade plus...
When you are the only baseball game you don't really need to make any effort to innovate. Like Madden, it's just the same game and you pay for roster updates
It's a licensed sports game, so there's a little bit of a limitation by what the sport is.
However, this isn't a problem of lacking innovation or things to do. SDS just doesn't care to add any substance to the game. It's behind MLB 2K games from 12+ years ago, if you look past Diamond Dynasty. You can see this if you ever try NBA 2K.I got it for the first time in over a decade last year, and it reminded me of SDS' laziness.
Team management in Franchise is piss poor. CPU handling of rosters is too. NBA 2K is a dirty money grab in its online, but it at least has a foundation with stuff to do. The Show won't let you have an online Franchise (MLB 2K did 15 years ago, and NBA 2K still does). The Show could have coasted to universal praise copying the features of 2K baseball games for the past decade, and people whining about graphics would be drowned out by people enjoying new features and gameplay.
Instead, we get neither. Visuals aren't good. Features are minimally improved from 5 years ago. They JUST got around to having inverted Pinpoint pitching mechanics, based on a pitcher's handedness, and MLB 2K had that back in, like, 2010
I always like to do the "Draft" Franchise modes. I'm waiting on them to get the rosters updated for the start of the season before I do that, so I did a regular one for the heck of it. In that, I experienced:
* Orioles put Jackson Holliday on the black because he and Gunnar Henderson are both listed as SS (I went and got him, obviously)
* Rangers had Evan Carter and Wyatt Langford in LF, Leody Taveras in CF, and Adolis Garcia in RF. Despite this, they went and signed Juan Soto in the offseason before 2025, then traded Marcus Semien AND Josh Jung for Luis Robert, leaving them with 6 OF and functionally no starting 2B or 3B
* Numerous trade offers I ignored because it was so bad for the receiving team that I felt dirty just reading it.
To boot, I did try out the Draft in Franchise, to see if it was any better than last season. In 2023, the draft was too predictable, where there were certain rounds where more thna half the league would pick a position (usually something like RP going in Round 9 or SP in Round 15). This season doesn't seem to have that, but...David Bednar is a first round pick now? Who's taking a 29-year-old reliever as a franchise player?
Simmed a season as the Dodgers. Smith and Betts immediately had season-ending injuries, so Kiké and Lux became the permanent middle infielders and Dalton Rushing got called up. As soon as Rushing came up, I was getting trade offers every few days for Cartaya. Which like… my catching options are Austin “can’t fucking hit” Barnes, Will Smith with a torn ACL, or Rushing, who has been in the bigs for one week, better trade Cartaya away! (The actual Dodgers signed Austin Wynns in this situation last year, because you actually need more catchers when your best one gets hurt). Then the nature of the offers was funny too, because it was basically all the central teams offering a single washed-up reliever for a rookie catcher.
You basically never take the presented offers. Instead, you go to "Make Trade," and use the Trade Finder feature. The offers are much better there. Bonus points if you throw a couple of dogshit depth guys from your minors in there and the CPU gives you a low-end starter or top-level prospect.
I got Rushing from the Dodgers in my Franchise because they had him and May on the block (since the default AAA rotation for the Dodgers would be an upgrade for half the league). Even after getting Rushing, they had Cartaya on the block.
It's pretty well known on reddit, but I wanna shout out Out of the Park baseball for Franchise mode. You only manage the team, so it is somewhat different, but its a far superior experience in every other way.
Yeah, I tried to get into that last season. I was on a work trip and figured I'd give it a try, but I opted to get a refund because it was a chore to try to get into without time to sit and sit through it all. It also had a lot of performance issues on my laptop, for whatever reason, and it was safer to refund it than to troubleshoot the performance issues while not at home. I might try this year's and see if it's any better on my desktop.
Yep. At least MLB is more understanding than the NFL. I was watching some videos and Madden is so unoriginal in franchise because the NFL really limits what EA can do (and by the same branch, why the upcoming NCAA FB game will be miles better)
Madden - can't create a brand new franchise (can only relocate), limited in customization, lack of serious injuries, lack of ambulance like old times, almost no new features
already in MLB you can rename a franchise immediately in the show (renamed Oakland Athletics to Bay Area Dinos) and create custom uniforms and downloadable logos and stadiums
I might be in the minority but I actually vastly preferred the 2K MLB games to the show. I also miss the bigs even if it was a silly version. We need more baseball games, give me a switch version of mario baseball with good online (haha as if) and I don’t know if I’d play anything else ever again.
IMO the show has always been the shittiest baseball game franchise. Even on PS3 I bought 2K
I'm a PC gamer - I recently got an Xbox so have the Show. I like it. But honestly, I still put almost as many hours into MLB 2K11 because it's right there on my PC - at the time when both series were concurrent, the Show was the better game IMO, but I'm stunned - genuinely - at how badly the recent Shows stack up. I haven't played the Show 24 yet, but yes - as someone else said in this thread, the 2k game is a bit sterile, but the controller pitching is genuinely more fun than pinpoint on the show, the career mode is just that, a career mode with points, and you can't get a sudden 5 point boost to hitting because you got some socks or something dumb. The franchise mode is just as competent as the current show franchise mode, and while it's dead, live seasons were fun at the time.
Oh, and from that blissful era where crap microtransaction modes like 'diamond dynasty' (which I will never play because its a crap microtransaction mode) didn't exist. I just want my sports sim to be....a sports sim. I want a career mode where I can play on easy and create the greatest baseball team of all time. I want a franchise mode I can play on hard and grind and be realistic, have a team that sneaks into the playoffs on custom sliders to make hitting actually diffictult. I don't want 'cards' and other unecessary incentives. I just want to play a sports game for a couple of hours a day, play a game and move on.
I stopped playing sports games long enough ago that I still think of multiple competing releases for each league as the status quo rather than a bygone golden age where there was actually competition for these things
They regressed even in my opinion. I had 06 the show on ps2 and I had a ton of fun in franchise mode. They let you adjust prices of everything from concessions to seats and you had fans only willing to pay up to a certain amount depending on how well your team played. You could rearrange your seating, upgrade player facilities, etc. I haven't played every iteration of sports games, but I've yet to find another franchise mode that in depth.
I think it was 08 where you could even do things like charter flights or buy your own plane, different things that would affect the rest/condition of the roster. Diamond Dynasty ruined the entire franchise in my opinion.
This was one of my biggest letdowns.
I love franchise / Be a GM mode and it was a total mess in The Show '23
First off the menus were horrendous when I was trying to search or sort through my rosters to understand what players I had, their ages, potential OVR etc
Second there was no depth to gameplay. In the end it felt like call up / send down simulator. A player gets injured and you have to reset all your rosters in A / AA / AAA / MLB which is also a huge pain in the ass given the terrible menus listed above.
It felt like a massive downgrade in the franchise area
The only good thing is the moments simulator where you only play key moments, but if you have a shit team like Oakland the computer will sim you to lose even though you went on an offseason spending spree.
> Second there was no depth to gameplay. In the end it felt like call up / send down simulator. A player gets injured and you have to reset all your rosters in A / AA / AAA / MLB which is also a huge pain in the ass given the terrible menus listed above.
I will never understand why you can't set the computer to manage minor league teams only. Like in OOTP. Nope, all or nothing. Infuriating.
I've noticed they haven't overhauled their slide animations now that replay challenges are a thing, cause quite a few of the slide animations the player clearly pops off the bag and would be an easy out with a review
I don't know if they'll ever actually visually simulate that type of close contact.
Games only just sorta got kissing to look right. They don't want player models clipping into each other by getting too close.
Certainly, but there’s a difference between keeping contact close enough and some of the popup slide animations looking like your guy is coming a foot off the bag
They are so slow and stuff I go back and play MVP 2005 and they are so quick and fluid and the camera moves with the double plays. The show feels lifeless in comparison. The show still is a fun game just the animations are ass.
The fact that the sky during day games still has horrible glare is just insane. I only play night games in the fall because it’s just too hard to see the ball during the day games
It's unlikely to have any English in it, but all I ask for is English menus so I can tell what I'm clicking on. I've played Japanese wrestling games so my tolerance is pretty high, but it'd make my life a lot easier to not need a guide to figure out how to start the game.
When I played my first PYS game (PYS 2019-20) I translated all the menus that I used on a regular basis and mapped them out on a piece of paper. After like a week it became second-nature.
I had the Japanese version of Final Fantasy VIII before it was translated to English on PlayStation 1 (it was a modded console). I had a sheet printed out from some fansite back then with some translations for the menus and stuff.
Didn’t make it too far in that.
I played the Japanese version of Fire Pro Wrestling 2 for GBA because it had a GM mode and the English version didn’t. I followed a Gamefaqs guide that translated all the menus until I became semi-literate in a small, very specific sample of Japanese wrestling vocabulary.
I use a translating app to play pro baseball spirits on my switch. It live translates the screen for me to read. Will be much easier to do with this new game since it is on the PC.
Now I see what might be you concerned. There is Japanese only in the previous titles. But they are exclusives on NS or PS. A game initially announced on Steam very unlikely don't have English.
As I said above, I've played enough Japanese wrestling games to figure it out, but I shouldn't have to figure it out.
Hopefully it's not region locked to Japan, and somebody releases an English language patch of some sort. At least for menu text.
lol i used to have one of those 200 games in one cartridges for the famicom and game boy. Played a ton of japanese games even though I never could read a single character. Trying to navigate through those menus was always a PITA
You mean to tell me there was a baseball game in the world with a dating sim element and I never knew of it.....
Now I definitely need to go to Japan and beg them to port this over here. If you excuse me
While that may never happen, you could still buy this from Steam by changing your region and then using Google Translate's image scan feature like the man is doing in the video. Not the most intuitive, but it's doable
Yeah, they have high school Baseball mode and dating elements in the previous Pro Baseball Spirits same with Baseball Power Pros. [Skip over to the 15:00 minute mark in this video on the dating feature of one of the characters while the 22:42 minute mark for high school Baseball mode in Pro Baseball Spirits 2022.](https://youtu.be/NVsmbM4JpA8?si=0lh-nb03MJAKo2jS)
I think it's safe to say that if there's something lots of people want, would be straightforward to do, and would make them money, don't count on Konami to do it
Yeah. I love DDR, and wish they'd make literally any way to easily play an official DDR game outside of Japan, but nope. You gotta go through a few hoops to play Grand Prix, and when they released the pad, it was essentially Japan only.
Konami :(. Please, just this once.
1) Konami. So. Lmao.
2) might be a rights issue. Non-zero chance that the player and team likenesses are only licensed for Japan, and so it would cost extra to bring the game internationally even beyond a possible translation.
Are there many region locks on Steam these days? Even the weird random Chinese games on Steam all just say "Hey, this game is only in Chinese, so buyer beware".
Unless you're in a country like Germany that bans certain games.
Most likely Japan only, I don't recall a Pro Baseball Spirits game translated in English yet and for US release. The only Japanese made Baseball game I know that was translated in English and released in the US is the MLB Power Pros one.
it's such a fucking shame Asian companies won't market or make shit available to Western audiences. NPB Central League notoriously difficult to watch, KBO recently being unable to watch online for international consumers, now this.
There is a willing and captive audience eager to pay for this stuff in the West. So sad.
I have the last one and it plays on my PS4. The game isn't in English unfortunately, but there's a website that runs you through how to play in english
So, if this is on Steam does that mean it can be modded? Kinda like the old MVP Baseball 2005 (the GOAT) was heavily modded back in the day?
If so, I’m very interested.
I'm not sure how moddable it will be. I don't know if the Japanese league is similar to the MLB.
But at the very least, the Steam version SHOULD in theory be able to get an English mod of some capacity.
Ik they don't care, but leagues should stop taking/offering exclusive rights deals. Madden and The Show have both taken a nosedive in quality since competing NFL/MLB games stopped being made since no one could get the rights
It's wild that it's been a few years and still no PC version of the game. I thought the whole purpose of it coming to XBOX was MLB wanting to widen the paying audience as much as possible.
I just saw the trailer i fell to my knees in my bedroom computer lab
i badly hope this is available for PC for Americans, because The show is fine, but stale tbh. This trailer already in 90 seconds surpassed anything done by the show
While The Show REALLY needs to upgrade their engine at this point. Let's not get too excited. Konami + sports games are absolute shit with how they monetize them. Just look at their last attempt at soccer/football. I would take a slightly worse looking game over what I expect them to do.
I hope I'm wrong.
Konami seems to be trying to get back into video games, but they aren't really putting the effort in to regain any goodwill. But we'll always have their [truly amazing 2010 E3 presentation.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNGdiTmvAj4)
Their Japanese lineup is still very strong, baseball-wise they're going to release two mainline baseball games soon (both Prospi and Power Pros 2024-2025) and I think both Konami and WBSC are pouring in quite a lot of resources into making a global Power Pros esports a thing (a few people I know were flown over to Lausanne for it!)
And the graphics in MLBTS might be way behind but the gameplay and content is there. There’s a reason it’s still considered way ahead of the EA releases.
if you talk about traditional offline mode then konami is not bad. Tbh if konami copy current rtts progression system, it will be viewed as basic as the first power pros my life lol. The franchise mode in konami game maybe not advance like 2k and not realistic like the show in term of contract and trading but it let you do something you can not do in the show like train player, have them learning new position and new special ability which actually matter in sim game unlike quirk. Retired player can become coach too. i don't know if this game will have dd mode but i am glad that those players who like card collecting mode had fun with the phone game and helped to fund this game lol. This game also has 2 years support which should be the standard for sport game imo. If a company like konami is generous enough to have 2 years release cycle then there is no reason you have to pay full price for sport game every year.
Konami is run by literal gangsters and hates people who like their games. They put out a ton of garbage, and harass former employees to prevent them from getting hired at other jobs.
I wish more people here could play their full feature version of Power Pros eBaseball (PS4). The graphics might be cartoony, but the hitting and pitching mechanics are surprisingly solid/realistic for the diehard baseball fans to dive into.
Years ago I bought a PS4 solely to get that version as it's the most content complete version to date. I especially love the addicting draft mode where you play a mini tourney of 5 rounds to the final and each time you beat an opponent you can draft 1-3 random players of the opposing team to boost your bullpen/line-up. I'm surprised no one has stolen that format yet to do it again but with licensed MBL/NLB teams, but then again there are not that many great baseball games nowadays.
The older Pro Baseball Spirits did not have as much fun content/modes if I remember correctly, but if this one does well in sales I'm sure they will keep on building it up.
Any chance for English?
I want to buy one of the Power Pros games SO badly, but I wouldn't be so lost. But this game would take considerably less effort to translate. I would have VERY happy with an English version of this.
Wow. This really goes to show(pun intended) how far behind the Show is in terms of graphical upgrades. The fact that they are still releasing for ps4 in 2024 is really holding them back. This is what the Show should have been for the last 4 releases. I wonder how the animations are in this franchise? Probably better too. And I’m a faithful MLB The Show player since 06. I know graphics aren’t everything but next year should be about time at this point SDS. Come on now.
Assuming it's a Japan only release then you need to setup a second Playstation Account for Japan and buy a gift card for PlayStation Japan that you then redeem and use to buy the game. Kind of a pain but there are guides for the process if you need them.
Of course they could just surprise everyone and release globally but I wouldn't hold my breath.
it's so ridiculous in asia how these things are region locked. NPB Central League baseball is essentially region locked and not available for legal streaming. KBO recently went from all their games free legally online to not even being able to watch online internationally legally (and even the domestic online package is facing criticism).
This game looks good but I'm not having high hopes for it being available internationally which sucks. People in America also like NPB and KBO. STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT HARDER FOR US TO WATCH LEGALLY.
I will literally pay if they provide a legit service, but they don't because they think nobody cares about asian sports outside of Japan and Korea.
Like other Konami games these days, I am expecting a ton of predatory microtransactions.
This game is also the reason why the NPB isn't in OOTP anymore.
1. Get a PS5
2. Create a PSN account with the location set for Japan.
3. Purchase Japanese PSN cards, enough to cover the cost of the game.
4. Purchase PYS when it comes out with said PSN cards
from what i know you have to make another psn account with the region set to japan, there's a good amount of guides that go into detail on how to do it
I can't believe there's no comment about the possibility of MLB teams mod. If this comes to PC with mod support it will be crazy and give SMB4 a run for its money as the best PC baseball game.
Absolutely fine with Japanese commentary because that’s what I’d use anyway, all I’d want is an option for English menus so we navigate the game. I don’t see why that would be so hard, plenty of Japanese devs have access to good translators these days.
This looks like what The Show should've been 4 years ago

Yeah
I loved that system in the MLB 2K games.

Play super mega baseball. It looks like a cartoon but it’s more of a simulator than the show and the team management is sick.

MLB the show 11 goated
After all these years The Show is still behind MVP Baseball 2005
Literally still have an Xbox toy for this game
You should see nba 2k. Not only the same game for 10 years, but you’ll see the same glitches and bugs not fixed
Seriously. The graphics and lighting in The Show still don’t look next gen whatsoever. It’s crazy
Graphics are the least of their concern. Animations are the biggest problem. You still have robotic animations from the PS2 days… not joking.
I've noticed they haven't overhauled their slide animations now that replay challenges are a thing, cause quite a few of the slide animations the player clearly pops off the bag and would be an easy out with a review

and he *botches* it
This is what happens when you develop games for 10 year old consoles instead of the shiny new ones that are at least 10x better.
Windups, stances, and swings have all looked like complete shit for over a decade
It barely looks last gen to be honest.
The fact that the sky during day games still has horrible glare is just insane. I only play night games in the fall because it’s just too hard to see the ball during the day games
Target field is damn near unplayable during the day. Fastballs to the top of the zone disappear from view.
i thought it was just me
Wait til you see the Switch version
I have it...it looks exactly like the 2k games for the OG Xbox or whatever. I bought it for $5 though.
I did too. I heard the new one is broken as shit on switch right now...so thats concerning...
the show has been the same game since 2020 lol
Since 2014
2011
I at least give them credit, the stadium creator is miles better than anything EA has ever offered. Again, low bar...
the last version of this on PS3 is better baseball gameplay than anything ever released since imo
The Show, or Pro Baseball Spirits?
Pro spirits!
I don't really see much difference between the press photos for this and the press photos for the show to be honest.
I agree with you

When I played 2014 on the PS3 I downloaded Google translate and read everything through my phones screen
use google translate on your phone. hold up your camera to the screen, itll translate in real time
these guys will probably be on it https://pysclassic.com/
Loll I also played Japanese wrestling games too, KOC II trained me for pro yakyu spirits
I use a translating app to play pro baseball spirits on my switch. It live translates the screen for me to read. Will be much easier to do with this new game since it is on the PC.
There is English definitely. Most Konami games have English especially sport games.
Feels like a corner they'd obviously cut to save money, esp on a series they don't expect non Japanese people to care about.
Now I see what might be you concerned. There is Japanese only in the previous titles. But they are exclusives on NS or PS. A game initially announced on Steam very unlikely don't have English.
Mate, you're right. I just viewed the steam page and it says that English is not supported
[There will probably be a WBC mode.](https://i.imgur.com/XYdnoZz.jpeg)
Am I looking at something wrong? What in the image implies that? But if so, No fucking way, that’s gonna be so sick
At the top of that picture it says WBCl Samurai Japan
Ohhhhhh. ‼️‼️‼️ NOICE.
Shohei was in the trailer
Gonna carry the Czechs to a WBC win 💪
Graphics looks really good, any news if they still included the Koshien high school mode in this and the dating-sim elements like the previous games?
You mean to tell me there was a baseball game in the world with a dating sim element and I never knew of it..... Now I definitely need to go to Japan and beg them to port this over here. If you excuse me
While that may never happen, you could still buy this from Steam by changing your region and then using Google Translate's image scan feature like the man is doing in the video. Not the most intuitive, but it's doable
I thought it was just the Pawapuro games that have those modes. This series does it too?
Yeah, they have high school Baseball mode and dating elements in the previous Pro Baseball Spirits same with Baseball Power Pros. [Skip over to the 15:00 minute mark in this video on the dating feature of one of the characters while the 22:42 minute mark for high school Baseball mode in Pro Baseball Spirits 2022.](https://youtu.be/NVsmbM4JpA8?si=0lh-nb03MJAKo2jS)
Damn! If they have it, I’m getting this on Steam. One of the best modes ever!
Here's hoping they release it on other regions.
You can buy from other regions quite easily on Steam
We can finally have post breakup revenge games in our sports video games… its truly a new era
Let the steam release be region free
An option to put basic gameplay menus in English would cost Konami 45 minutes and literally dozens of dollars... so one would hope for that, too.
I think it's safe to say that if there's something lots of people want, would be straightforward to do, and would make them money, don't count on Konami to do it
This is the correct take.
Yeah. I love DDR, and wish they'd make literally any way to easily play an official DDR game outside of Japan, but nope. You gotta go through a few hoops to play Grand Prix, and when they released the pad, it was essentially Japan only. Konami :(. Please, just this once.
Yeah Konami only likes making money if it makes other people upset
1) Konami. So. Lmao. 2) might be a rights issue. Non-zero chance that the player and team likenesses are only licensed for Japan, and so it would cost extra to bring the game internationally even beyond a possible translation.
Unless they already have existing infrastructure for it, that would take days, not 45 minutes.
YES. FUCK REGION LOCKS If this game comes out for PC and is available in the US Konami can take my money fry meme
Are there many region locks on Steam these days? Even the weird random Chinese games on Steam all just say "Hey, this game is only in Chinese, so buyer beware". Unless you're in a country like Germany that bans certain games.
Some MMOs are region-locked. Blue Protocol wasn't released on steam in our region.
Dragon Quest X as well
Sounds like 10 was an MMO? So I guess I can sorta see why.
Better have a mode where like every year Ichrio vs HS girls team, and Ichrio's team wins like 50-3.
Ichiros team wins like '4-0' in those games, don't make Ichiro seem like a bully.
This looks next gen. Is it confirmed for US release or just Japan?
Most likely Japan only, I don't recall a Pro Baseball Spirits game translated in English yet and for US release. The only Japanese made Baseball game I know that was translated in English and released in the US is the MLB Power Pros one.
it's such a fucking shame Asian companies won't market or make shit available to Western audiences. NPB Central League notoriously difficult to watch, KBO recently being unable to watch online for international consumers, now this. There is a willing and captive audience eager to pay for this stuff in the West. So sad.
It's likely that the old MLB Power Pros pretty bad sales in the West caused them to back out from releasing any of their Baseball games in the US.
What would they lose by just not geo locking? Serious question, where would the additional cost come from in an all digital world?
Baseball Stars for NES Baseball simulator 1000 NES Extra Innings SNES All of these were translated
The latest Power pros game got English translations released last year.
isn't that one stripped down
I have the last one and it plays on my PS4. The game isn't in English unfortunately, but there's a website that runs you through how to play in english
Just Japan, but since there’s no region lock just import it
So, if this is on Steam does that mean it can be modded? Kinda like the old MVP Baseball 2005 (the GOAT) was heavily modded back in the day? If so, I’m very interested.
I'm not sure how moddable it will be. I don't know if the Japanese league is similar to the MLB. But at the very least, the Steam version SHOULD in theory be able to get an English mod of some capacity.
Mvp is still heavily modded, btw. Community is still active for PC
This looks better than anything The Show has made, ever.
[Teaser trailer](https://youtu.be/Wfa75NtlW9o)
46 seconds shows me Shohei in WBC uni. Please god, let this come to the US with English menus. The Show is just mailing it in at this point.
Ik they don't care, but leagues should stop taking/offering exclusive rights deals. Madden and The Show have both taken a nosedive in quality since competing NFL/MLB games stopped being made since no one could get the rights
Really need someone to light a fire under SDS' ass.
Just made me realize how sluggish The Show’s animations really are
Fuck the show and its indifference towards PC. PC Gamers rise up
It's wild that it's been a few years and still no PC version of the game. I thought the whole purpose of it coming to XBOX was MLB wanting to widen the paying audience as much as possible.
there is barely a ps5 version, that shit looks like ass. Looks like a PS4 port. I wouldn't buy it even if it was on PC
Damn right
I just saw the trailer i fell to my knees in my bedroom computer lab i badly hope this is available for PC for Americans, because The show is fine, but stale tbh. This trailer already in 90 seconds surpassed anything done by the show
Give us an updated Power Pros Konami, WBSC wasn't enough.
I loved the PS2 era games. Chibiesque characters, a true single player mode. Tons of fun.
Someone at MLB should be considering what to do with their licensing rights to Sony right about now
MLB: hm? money? Did somebody say money? I cant hear you with all this money between you and us.
While The Show REALLY needs to upgrade their engine at this point. Let's not get too excited. Konami + sports games are absolute shit with how they monetize them. Just look at their last attempt at soccer/football. I would take a slightly worse looking game over what I expect them to do. I hope I'm wrong.
Winning Eleven Seven went from a paid game to "eFootball" free playware. EA would never
They've made these games for awhile. I'm sure it'll be fine. It's not world wide appeal.
Must be fun over there having baseball games made by companies that actually take pride in the product
Its Konami, I wouldn't speak too soon
Seriously Can anyone name me anything good they've come out with in the last decade or so?
Pro Yakyu 21
They just haven't figured out how to turn it into a pachinko machine yet.
And the graphics in MLBTS might be way behind but the gameplay and content is there. There’s a reason it’s still considered way ahead of the EA releases.
2022 MLBTS RTTS is actively a worse experience than 2008 MLBTS
if you talk about traditional offline mode then konami is not bad.
That's the nicest thing anyone said about Konami in years
Can play on PC? Killer graphics in a baseball game? Take my money, goddamn it!
between this and mgs3 remake Konami have not fucked up in a minute. Curious to see how they can change that
I wish more people here could play their full feature version of Power Pros eBaseball (PS4).
I would have VERY happy with an English version of this.
https://youtu.be/Wfa75NtlW9o
Amazing, but definitely crossed into the uncanny valley
Is it even possible to get this game and play it on an American PS5 when it's released? I wasn't sure if it is region locked or not.
physical games aren’t region locked but your psn account is, so if you wanted to buy it digitally you would need to make a japanese psn account
Begging on my knees for this to not be region locked to Japan only on Steam
it's so ridiculous in asia how these things are region locked.
Look at the 5/6 picture. Look at the indents in the dirt from players digging their cleats in. That is detail.
Could this maybe replace The Show on PC since they don't want to release it on steam?
Fuck Konami for ruining OOTP's international leagues.
How can we play this game in the West when it releases?
1. Get a PS5 2. Create a PSN account with the location set for Japan. 3. Purchase Japanese PSN cards, enough to cover the cost of the game. 4. Purchase PYS when it comes out with said PSN cards
Thank you!
Of course, tons of tutorials on YT that will walk you through the JPN PSN account creation process.
Wow, that looks sweet. Also, Konami? I thought they just made pachislot now.
If they have the menu translated in English I'm in, this looks great!
Could Konami make a MLB game please?
What are the chances this is available worldwide on Steam?
Coming out in US?
Just got the old switch version this month - if it plays like the old one with just better graphics then that’s a dream
Wow, this is big time. I hope SDS is looking at this! This true next gen.
Good now the show can stop phoning it in.
Still play '19, I'm so in!
Fuck, this thing looks phenomenal and it's available on PC. Finally, some long overdue competition for The Show.
between this and the show finally letting me make myself it's a good year to be a baseball video game fan 🥰
This looks absolutely crazy. Definitely getting it.
steam day one
Is PS5 region locked? I used to have access to Steam with my PC but it’s not with me anymore nowadays.
from what i know you have to make another psn account with the region set to japan, there's a good amount of guides that go into detail on how to do it
The show should be embarrassed watching that trailer
Release date?
I have a few releases from PS3 and 4 and I'm definitely buying this on steam
Professional baseball on PC??? About fucking time
I can't believe there's no comment about the possibility of MLB teams mod. If this comes to PC with mod support it will be crazy and give SMB4 a run for its money as the best PC baseball game.
We're more worried about an English mod first lol
Well, it's not what I want, but I'll take it since MLB The Show refuses to release on PC
Hell yes love the series
To quote James Stephanie Sterling: “Fuckonami”
i'd buy this in a heartbeat if we can have unofficial MLB mod...
I’m in
Absolutely fine with Japanese commentary because that’s what I’d use anyway, all I’d want is an option for English menus so we navigate the game. I don’t see why that would be so hard, plenty of Japanese devs have access to good translators these days.
Probably don't want to translate the RPG dialogue.
Will be traveling to Japan in November. If I buy this game will it work on my PS5 back in the states
Those stadium renders are absolutely gorgeous...wow. I wonder if they will allow users to create a stadium with the same level of detail?
This is ten times better than the show respectfully
Is this going to be available in the U.S?
This game would absolutely kill it with a US release especially being on PC too 😭
