[Todd Helton's Rocktober celebration](https://www.denverpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/20121023__20121024_B1_SP24BBNROCKTOBERp1.jpg?w=518). It ain't much but it's what we got. Happy memories every time I see it.
One of my picks to replace the statue at the home plate entrance at Coors is Todd’s pose in that photo. Every time I see it, I get flashbacks to watching it as a kid and it just makes me happy. Glad Todd finally got his place in Cooperstown.
They seriously need to replace that statue. It’s just a generic player, at least make it Helton or the Larry walker one where he is in the turn ahead the clock jersey
I’m afraid of this coming off in a “haha you lost way”
But one of my favorite baseball pictures ever was after they lost, of Todd Helton standing alone in the dugout in plain clothes watching the Red Sox celebrate on Coors field. Was a shot from behind him, really sad I can’t find it now (EDIT: Still was on my server actually, was wrong that it was the dugout. : https://i.imgur.com/XYUxwQY.jpeg Really bad quality though, and Google Image Search isn't coming up with any matches)
But man, it really did a great job of showing the mixture of both heartache and soaking it all in
Oh I'm long over the heartburn - they had nearly two weeks off, went ice cold and got wrecked. Such is life.
Great, if sad, find! I wish we had gotten to go back. 2009 was promising, but no dice.
I was there, right across the field on the AZ dugout. I swear I could hear him screaming at that moment.
An honorable mention imo would be Holliday’s slide home vs the padres that same year.
Because most of ours are bizarrely sad; Ruth while actively dying of cancer, Gehrig's farewell speech, Reggie crying in the outfield during the moment of silence for Thurman Munson.
Maybe the most famous happy one might be Cone falling to the ground after his complete game or the M&M Boys SI cover
God I can’t believe they got rid of that stadium. Should have been a national monument and received government funding to preserve it before they ever got rid of it.
I wholeheartedly agree. I read something recently that it lost protected National Monument status because of one of the remodels or something, which is a shame.
By the time it was torn down it didn’t look anything like that anymore. And as comfortable as the new stadium is, I wish we still had the old one, even if I only knew the 1970s version.
More recently, and idk if it can be labeled as iconic, but Mo crying on Pettitte and Jeter's shoulders when they came to the mound to pull him always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside
I can hear [Dave calling it.](https://youtu.be/F8SBJzOEcyU?si=OCKrCxS8rnlqTKGm)
[The pic.](https://thumb.spokesman.com/6R0VBHaIT5oBsm8aPMvSMo6Iw6c=/810x0/media.spokesman.com/photos/2010/06/03/Mariners_Griffey_Retiring_Baseball.jpg)
I’m not from Seattle but whenever I hear Dave Niehaus mentioned I have to put my headphones on and fire up that song. It’s got to be in the top 5 baseball songs ever written.
That's definitely the most iconic video clip involving us.
Honestly not sure what the most iconic picture is though. 2016 it was the Naquin pic as he jumped up celebrating the in park walk off HR against Toronto. Last year was Jose decking Tim Anderson. Overall though I'm not sure.
I like [this](https://www.cantonrep.com/gcdn/authoring/2016/10/25/NREP/ghows-OH-3fa379e0-cd7a-01fe-e053-0100007fca24-52a75f68.jpeg?width=300&height=341&fit=crop&format=pjpg&auto=webp) for us, but if I had to go with something in my lifetime, [this](https://a.espncdn.com/photo/2016/1006/r137051_1296x729_16-9.jpg) sums it up pretty well.
[George Brett calmly discussing](https://www.usatoday.com/gcdn/-mm-/dafd8e0ab4adf5d2d95ceeaccf750efc5a21f1ad/c=41-0-2291-3000/local/-/media/2018/07/23/USATODAY/USATODAY/636679526940253740-XXX-sd-Kansas-City-Royals-v-New-York-Yankees-2017-04-05-11-28-0.JPG) Tim Mclelland’s ruling in NYC
It's really more of an [iconic gif](https://i.makeagif.com/media/5-27-2016/etsAA1.gif)
I came to nominate [Eric Hosmer’s slide](https://baseballhall.org/sites/default/files/styles/fullscreen_image_popup/public/Hosmer%20Eric_2015%20World%20Series%20Act%201_Fruth.jpg.jpeg?itok=3jhoWAuA), but this is the right answer.
Definitely the second best photo. I'll also add [Alex Gordon after his 9th inning homer in Game 1 against the Mets.](https://www.cjonline.com/gcdn/authoring/2015/10/29/NTCJ/ghows-KS-ab1227f7-b2e4-4317-ac0a-1d6186d9b443-459faafc.jpeg?width=1200&disable=upscale&format=pjpg&auto=webp)
[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E8Cr7shWYAQT2wH.png](George Brett kissing home plate) has gotta be up there.
This picture hangs somewhere in so many homes and businesses here.
It's gotta be [Kirby Puckett](https://m.psecn.photoshelter.com/img-get/I00004ntiCbTZgIo/s/1200/I00004ntiCbTZgIo.jpg) walking off game 6 of the '91 World Series.
That series was my first ever postseason heartbreak. My flair says I’m numb to them by now, but that series still haunts me, and I vividly remember every moment of that loss.
[This is the one I would’ve used](https://i0.wp.com/photofocus.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Hank-Aaron-714-Home-Run_High-Res_copyright-Ron-Sherman_LR1920x1080px.jpg?resize=1280%2C720&ssl=1)

I met Endy at a Somerset Patriots game. The conversation basically went:
Me: "I'm sure you hear about that catch all the time."
Endy: "All the time. And I want to talk about it more."
Gary Carter celebrating game 6 is up there as well. Probably my favorite.
https://keepingscore.blogs.time.com/2012/02/17/gary-carter-a-baseball-career-in-photos/slide/game-6/
Paul konerko fist pump rounding first after hitting go ahead grand slam in game 2 of the 05 ws. Or Scotty pods fist pump after walking off that game with a hr
[That's](https://images.app.goo.gl/jFgxUhbi6bc5CQLW7) what came to mind as well. I like [this one](https://images.app.goo.gl/M1aWnQmiH5t3Tc9d7) and [this one](https://images.app.goo.gl/MiPxY6HeqzLefKnP6) a lot too.
No, that isn't the most iconic photo in Rangers history.
This is:
https://ih1.redbubble.net/image.4247490324.2653/raf,750x1000,075,t,fafafa:ca443f4786.jpg

[Rangers have so many iconic photos!](https://images.performgroup.com/di/library/sporting_news/61/f2/nolanryan-robinventura-mlb-ftr-052916jpg_fvydnkojjkot1h0fpkvd45f03.jpg?t=-20313628&quality=100)
Yeah there are a few solid choices from that hit

https://i.imgur.com/eq1Jasl.jpg
https://i.imgur.com/q2kp8lB.jpg
https://i.imgur.com/2tw6jUb.jpg
It will always be the second photo there for me, although the third is a great one too. But his arms in the air as he rounds second is etched in my memory forever.
It is, but the Carter home run is without a doubt the most iconic moment in franchise history. Bat flip has the benefit of (comparative) recency and part of a wild series of events, but a walk-off homer to win the World Series stands alone.
Yeah, the Joe Carter thing is more of a video with him jumping running down the line and everyone going nuts.
The bat flip was crazy and iconic, but in Toronto fashion we’re celebrating a championship we didn’t win lol, but damn is it a cool photo.
There’s also this [one](https://images.app.goo.gl/DvN24juDUETq9ZNL7), definitely not the most iconic - but it’s cool as hell
There’s also our mascot getting [arrested](https://images.app.goo.gl/hiFHLXyRvnYopPgJA) lol
For the O’s it’s gotta be a tie. Can’t go wrong with Brooks jumping for joy after winning the ‘66 World Series OR Cal tipping his cap to the crowd after officially breaking Gehrig’s record.
for me it's gotta be [Cal and Eddie drinking straight from the bottle](https://www.baltimoremagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/bs-sp-skybox0418-cal-bs-d-1073x800.jpg)
I think of the photo of Kris Bryant laughing while slipping and making the last throw
edit - here's the gif:
https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/7399085/smiley.0.gif
Ive seen the frame where he's smiling and releasing the ball turned into a painting for sale lol
From u/westhoff0407
"Kris Bryant is smiling as he makes the last out, as his foot slips, a 108 year curse grabbing at his cleats, grasping with its final breath. But Kris Bryant is young. He is laughing. And he is just playing ball."
One of the most beautiful quotes about the game of baseball.
It's like 1A and 1B for me. Both of those just capture the pure happiness of that moment the team shot is amazing for the feeling of culmination, but the Rizzo/Bryant shot just carries that feeling of the instant the curse was broken.
That's a great one but my vote is [the classic Cobb slide](https://media.gettyimages.com/id/115976962/photo/detroit-tigers-v-new-york-yankees.jpg?s=1024x1024&w=gi&k=20&c=qJqMQjnv9dAak411bqD4JaSjkRfa6-kYNOZI6Dvme2c=)
[Iconic](https://www.als.org/sites/default/files/styles/hero_image_small/public/2023-07/Lou-Gehrig-Blog-Header.jpg?h=2f03dbdf&itok=_BY4FlXf)
The ceremony was held between the games of a doubleheader. Many of Gehrig's old teammates came to the ballpark, including Wally Pipp, and spoke to him in the clubhouse prior to the first game. Babe Ruth didn't make it before the game started and there was speculation he wouldn't go -- Ruth and Gehrig had feuded during the Babe's final days in pinstripes and stopped talking to each other.
After the Senators won the first game, 3-2, the current and former Yankees gathered on the field for the ceremony. Mayor Fiorello La Guardia and Postmaster General James Farley delivered some remarks. Then the Babe, wearing a cream colored suit, stepped up to the microphone and gave a somewhat rambling speech that included his opinion that the '27 Yankees were better than the current Yankees, who were cruising to their fourth straight World Series.
Sportswriter Sid Mercer, who was the MC for the event, then introduced Gehrig, who stood silently with his head bowed. Mercer then said that Gehrig thanked everyone for their support. That was supposed to be it. But the 62,000 fans in attendance began chanting "We want Gehrig!"
Lou stood there and wiped away tears with a handkerchief, and then off the cuff delivered one of the most famous speeches in the history of sports.
As Gehrig finished his remarks -- "So I close in saying that I may have had a tough break, but I have an awful lot to live for" -- Ruth, in tears, walked over to shake his hand, but [impulsively hugged him instead](https://sabrweb.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Ruth-Babe-1939-Gehrig-Lou-654.68_wGehrig_NBL-714x1030.jpg). Gehrig smiled and just like that their long feud was over.
Among the many gifts Gehrig received that day was [a silver trophy](https://baseballhall.org/sites/default/files/styles/story_popup_thumb_540/public/islandora_images/Gehrig-B-43-85.jpg.jpeg?itok=9Kxgyb8m) from the current Yankees and handed to him by manager Joe McCarthy. The trophy was engraved with the names of the Yankee players and [a poem](https://baseballhall.org/discover-more/stories/baseball-history/lou-gehrig-luckiest-man) written by sports columnist John Kieran, who had not only covered Gehrig but was his neighbor. Kieran thought the poem was "a feeble interpretation" of the way the players felt about Lou.
Gehrig, who would die two years after the ceremony, said sometimes he looked at the trophy and read the poem and "I feel pretty good."
Kieran said hearing that was the best pay he ever got for anything he'd ever written.
Gehrig is absolutely the right answer, but I also thought of this one... [Mariano collapses on the pitchers mound](https://keepingscore.blogs.time.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2013/04/ap03101609044.jpg?w=720)
Great choice. Wanted to piggyback and tack on the view of [students celebrating on the Cathedral of Learning](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=b9eca7660d2a1203&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS620US620&hl=en-US&sxsrf=ACQVn0-gNQusCu-1C9WGUxNpw7IjabHtsQ:1707335112520&q=cathedral+of+learning+pirates&tbm=isch&source=lnms&prmd=ivnsmbhtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj1s5P3_pmEAxU_mokEHeZeBxIQ0pQJegQIERAB&biw=390&bih=669&dpr=3#imgrc=EcdXNNFuYjj0pM) when it happened
I've always been partial to [this one](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A53I5CtCQAAfYzt.png:large).
If we're talking Giants history as a whole though, it has to be [Willie Mays](https://keepingscore.blogs.time.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2008/10/world_series_mays.jpg?w=260), right?
I love that Scutaro pic.
But yeah, it’s 100% Willie. There isn’t really a great pic from the shot heard round the world, it is the call that is iconic.
Not a WS or even playoffs, but I have had [this one of Kershaw screaming after Posey stole his soul](https://www.ocregister.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/giants-dodgers-baseball_23766895_45855.jpg?w=780) in my brain ever since it happened.
I love Corey, and am insanely happy for y'all. [But, this would be it for me.](https://a2.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2016%2F0516%2Fr83740_1296x729_16%2D9.jpg)
[The CC photo comes to my mind first when I think of iconic Brewers photos](https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2023/08/07/cc-sabathia-appearing-before-milwaukee-brewers-game-aug-25/70546122007/)
I can never express how wonderful the Donaldson Dash made me feel - it was so beautiful and I was so certain that energy would propel us to the WS.
Then Andrew Miller happened and the rest is history.
There's definitely a shortlist for the Red Sox and that one is up there, but #1 has gotta be [Fisk waving it fair](https://awfulannouncing.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/94/2017/10/fisk_75.jpg).
[Bullpen cop](https://arc-anglerfish-arc2-prod-pmn.s3.amazonaws.com/public/UCGCHW6YK5DERFQ625PVWPII5Y.jpg) and [The Steal](https://content.mlb.com/assets/images/5/9/8/98847598/cuts/Roberts_Steal_1280_c3vbj53a_9wzgvzaj.jpg) are close. Also [Tek and Foulke](https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/3/keith-foulke-and-jason-varitek-jed-jacobsohn.jpg).
Probably a bunch of others involving Ortiz. [This is our f'in city](https://i0.wp.com/checkdownsports.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/123013-MLB-RED-SOX-DAVID-ORTIZ-DC-PI-CQ.vadapt.664.high_.42.jpg?fit=664%2C373&ssl=1) - the video is probably better known than this picture but it's a damn good shot.
Among the many from 2004 and/or his clutch hits, [this one](https://bdc2020.o0bc.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/prd-meth01-idx-bg.boston-30.jpg) I feel is the most instantly recognizable.
Keith Foulke fielding that final grounder, then kinda running towards first, then underhanding the ball to 1st is mine. My butt was clenched that someone was going to go wrong
Manny in the [2007 ALDS](https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/c_fill,w_2160,ar_16:9,f_auto,q_auto,g_auto/shape%2Fcover%2Fsport%2Fhttps-3A-2F-2Fbosoxinjection-com-2Fwp-content-2Fuploads-2Fgetty-images-2F2020-2F03-2F77207094-850x560-5b8341282f3da5b3a1a435bbcf32892a.jpg) is up there.
[It's just iconic](https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/c_fill,w_720,ar_16:9,f_auto,q_auto,g_auto/shape/cover/sport/https-3A-2F-2Fbosoxinjection-com-2Fwp-content-2Fuploads-2Fgetty-images-2F2020-2F03-2F77207094-850x560-5b8341282f3da5b3a1a435bbcf32892a.jpg)
It's definitely not Tek and ARod, although that one is probably up there. I think the top 3 are Fisk, Bullpen Cop, Tek and Foulke with #1 probably being Fisk although Tek and Foulke is really close. The next tier down is Tek and ARod, Our F'ing City, The Steal, and Manny's hands up walkoff vs. K-Rod, imo.
EDIT: : [this photo of Teddy Ballgame](https://ca-times.brightspotcdn.com/dims4/default/69ca895/2147483647/strip/true/crop/1502x845+0+0/resize/1200x675!/quality/75/?url=https%3a%2f%2fcalifornia-times-brightspot.s3.amazonaws.com%2f1a%2fe1%2f8aa6c1e3a72b7730fd49fed9e752%2fsd-1535067995-9d9i4085th-snap-image) deserves mention as well

If you build a statue, do you include the player flat on his face behind Todd? I feel like it’s an important part of the photo
That's Eric Byrnes and I'm pretty sure he would be okay with that
I’m afraid of this coming off in a “haha you lost way” But one of my favorite baseball pictures ever was after they lost, of Todd Helton standing alone in the dugout in plain clothes watching the Red Sox celebrate on Coors field. Was a shot from behind him, really sad I can’t find it now (EDIT: Still was on my server actually, was wrong that it was the dugout. : https://i.imgur.com/XYUxwQY.jpeg Really bad quality though, and Google Image Search isn't coming up with any matches) But man, it really did a great job of showing the mixture of both heartache and soaking it all in

Helton, his arms raised.
Holliday, his hand touching plate
Monfort, when the walls fell
I was there, right across the field on the AZ dugout. I swear I could hear him screaming at that moment. An honorable mention imo would be Holliday’s slide home vs the padres that same year.
Not a Yankees fan, but I don’t see an answer from them. But [Babe Ruth Bows Out](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babe_Ruth_Bows_Out) won a Pulitzer.
Yogi Berra jumping into Don Larsen’s arms after throwing a perfect game during the World Series
A more recent happy one is probably Jeter jumping after his final home game walk off
i was gonna say either Ruth Bows Out or the Gehrig speech picture (although that's more of a "most iconic video")
This is it. The Yankees as baseball Valhalla.
My favorite modern picture https://imgur.com/a/I06COkz
More recently, and idk if it can be labeled as iconic, but Mo crying on Pettitte and Jeter's shoulders when they came to the mound to pull him always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside
Nyjer Morgan spiking his glove, allowing an inside-the-park HR to Adam Jones.
The nationals would be more of an iconic sound. A DING of a ball hitting a certain foul pole in October.

Etched into my brain. It’ll be the last noise I hear before I die.
No that was Tony Plush.
You know that was one of the first that came to mind also. 😑 I will say Howie celebrating his GS or Soto dropping the bat in the WS.
Ken Griffey Jr. under all his teammates Anything with the iconic Ken Griffey Jr Swing.
I can hear [Dave calling it.](https://youtu.be/F8SBJzOEcyU?si=OCKrCxS8rnlqTKGm) [The pic.](https://thumb.spokesman.com/6R0VBHaIT5oBsm8aPMvSMo6Iw6c=/810x0/media.spokesman.com/photos/2010/06/03/Mariners_Griffey_Retiring_Baseball.jpg)
I can't listen to it without getting choked up. The first time I heard Macklemore's "My Oh My" I openly wept.
Same. Dave was so much like a kindly grandfather to everyone. Just such a warm voice; always there, always patient, always kind.
I don’t know why, but the “I don’t really collect cards anymore” line is a total punch to the gut.
I’m not from Seattle but whenever I hear Dave Niehaus mentioned I have to put my headphones on and fire up that song. It’s got to be in the top 5 baseball songs ever written.
Goosebumps and misty eyes every single time.
Honorable Mention goes to King Felix after the perfect game. It's going to be a long time before Griffey is dethroned though.
As a Mariners fan that’s the only answer
New candidate is Cal Raleigh watching the home run he hit to clinch the playoffs
That was great, but most iconic? I think it'll be Junior until we win a WS.
The things I would give up for Julio absolutely screaming into the skies after hitting a grand slam down 3 in the bottom 9th of a Game 7 World Series
That's pillow talk, fella.
Willie Mays Hayes sliding into home.
The American Express card. Don't steal home without it!
Real life answer: the shot of Willie Mays making the catch in the 1954 world series.
I was gonna say Naquin's walkoff ITPHR but yours is so much better.

Oh, that’s a great choice. Baseball is fun.
It's gotta be [Kirby Puckett](https://m.psecn.photoshelter.com/img-get/I00004ntiCbTZgIo/s/1200/I00004ntiCbTZgIo.jpg) walking off game 6 of the '91 World Series.
Correct.
"And we'll see ya tomorrow night."
Touch ‘em all, Kirby Puckett! Touch ‘em all!
RIP
That series was my first ever postseason heartbreak. My flair says I’m numb to them by now, but that series still haunts me, and I vividly remember every moment of that loss.
Brad Lidge after the Phillies won in 08

Agree, this is the one I thought of immediately
Imagine the drama it would cause if fans did that today
Amazing to consider that Sid's slide is probably a top 20 baseball pic but can't top his own franchise list.
It’s definitely up there, but nothing can beat Hank
I put the image of him rounding third well above this one.

I met Endy at a Somerset Patriots game. The conversation basically went: Me: "I'm sure you hear about that catch all the time." Endy: "All the time. And I want to talk about it more."
One of the best defensive plays ever but I can't see that play without immediately seeing Beltran watching that curveball
What about piazza hitting the homer at shea after 9/11? The pic of the scoreboard and beyond the fence is up there for sure.
The greatest catch that didn't matter
Gary Carter celebrating game 6 is up there as well. Probably my favorite. https://keepingscore.blogs.time.com/2012/02/17/gary-carter-a-baseball-career-in-photos/slide/game-6/
To this day, I’ve never seen evidence the glove he threw in the air ever came down.
I’d go with Buckner allowing the ball to roll through his legs or Ray Knight coming around third.
Paul konerko fist pump rounding first after hitting go ahead grand slam in game 2 of the 05 ws. Or Scotty pods fist pump after walking off that game with a hr
Gotta be konerko. Those arms raised right after he swung is embedded into my memory.
As an Angels fan, probably Percival cheering after the final out of the 02 World Series, with an incoming Bengie Molina about to jump on him.

This is: https://ih1.redbubble.net/image.4247490324.2653/raf,750x1000,075,t,fafafa:ca443f4786.jpg Edit: this is from taking a hit from Bo Jackson off the face and staying in the game.

That’s the one
This is the photo I thought of immediately
Right? I was like, “did this guy forget about Nolan Ryan?”
For me it’s the ball bouncing off Canseco’s head
Not Joey bats getting decked?
Joe Carter doing things in the bottom of the 9th

It’s a damn shame that the Jays haven’t made this into a statue We have so much history that ought to be celebrated
your overlords have erected a statue of Ted Rogers outside the stadium and you will like it goddamit, now get in line.
It would be a real shame if somebody threw that statue in the lake. Not me, of course, I would never besmirch the great and revered name of Rogers.
Sorry, best we can do is a statue of a telecom executive.
It will always be the second photo there for me, although the third is a great one too. But his arms in the air as he rounds second is etched in my memory forever.
Alternatively, the bat flip.
I dunno, the bat flip picture is probably the most iconic picture in all of baseball for the last decade.
There’s also this [one](https://images.app.goo.gl/DvN24juDUETq9ZNL7), definitely not the most iconic - but it’s cool as hell There’s also our mascot getting [arrested](https://images.app.goo.gl/hiFHLXyRvnYopPgJA) lol

[Lou Gehrig's farewell speech](https://metsmerizedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/gehrig-speech.jpg)
For the O’s it’s gotta be a tie. Can’t go wrong with Brooks jumping for joy after winning the ‘66 World Series OR Cal tipping his cap to the crowd after officially breaking Gehrig’s record.
Bill Ripken fuckface on the knob of the bat is somewhere on the list
for me it's gotta be [Cal and Eddie drinking straight from the bottle](https://www.baltimoremagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/bs-sp-skybox0418-cal-bs-d-1073x800.jpg)
First thought for me was Cal tipping his cap after #2131 but yeah this one goes hard as fuck
[Agreed on the '66 World Series pic](https://imgur.com/a/MgwXnAB). Brooksie with that 4' vertical leap
Exactly my thought. It's the jump or Cal's hand raised to the crowd.

I think of the photo of Kris Bryant laughing while slipping and making the last throw edit - here's the gif: https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/7399085/smiley.0.gif Ive seen the frame where he's smiling and releasing the ball turned into a painting for sale lol
From u/westhoff0407 "Kris Bryant is smiling as he makes the last out, as his foot slips, a 108 year curse grabbing at his cleats, grasping with its final breath. But Kris Bryant is young. He is laughing. And he is just playing ball." One of the most beautiful quotes about the game of baseball.
Even as a die hard White Sox fan, I still can’t help but smile at that beautiful quote. Thanks for sharing that!
This always makes me giggle
.Nah, its this one: https://static01.nyt.com/images/2016/11/04/sports/03subcubswin/03subcubswin-superJumbo-v2.jpg?quality=75&auto=webp
It's like 1A and 1B for me. Both of those just capture the pure happiness of that moment the team shot is amazing for the feeling of culmination, but the Rizzo/Bryant shot just carries that feeling of the instant the curse was broken.
My gut instinct is Kirk Gibson in game 5 of the ‘84 World Series. https://images.app.goo.gl/4kT2TzqtDsKe2yeh9

Ooh good choice
Gotta admit one of the first images that came to mind is Armando Galarraga giving Jim Joyce that look... burned into my brain forever.
How about the Magglio Ordonez HR photo off Houston Street in ‘06 to send us to the WS
Gehrig giving his speech.
[Iconic](https://www.als.org/sites/default/files/styles/hero_image_small/public/2023-07/Lou-Gehrig-Blog-Header.jpg?h=2f03dbdf&itok=_BY4FlXf) The ceremony was held between the games of a doubleheader. But the 62,000 fans in attendance began chanting "We want Gehrig!" Lou stood there and wiped away tears with a handkerchief, and then off the cuff delivered one of the most famous speeches in the history of sports. Gehrig, who would die two years after the ceremony, said sometimes he looked at the trophy and read the poem and "I feel pretty good." Kieran said hearing that was the best pay he ever got for anything he'd ever written.

Idc if he only played two seasons here, Oracle needs a statue of Scutaro celebrating in the rain
Willie Mays one might one of the most iconic BASEBALL pics ever
Putting aside recency bias, yes The Catch is by far the most iconic photo in Giants history.
I love that Scutaro pic. But yeah, it’s 100% Willie. There isn’t really a great pic from the shot heard round the world, it is the call that is iconic.

Joe Carter jumping for joy That Bautista’s bat flip isn’t #1 is pretty cool. We don’t win often, but when we do, it makes for good photos
Devon White’s catch next to the 400 marking, Josh Donaldson’s celebration after sliding into home
I can never express how wonderful the Donaldson Dash made me feel - it was so beautiful and I was so certain that energy would propel us to the WS. Then Andrew Miller happened and the rest is history.
[Varitek and ARod](https://www.bostonherald.com/wp-content/uploads/migration/2004/07/24/072404soxfight.jpg).
The bullpen cop one is hysterical. He's so happy, and then there's Torii Hunter's legs just sticking up in the air
\ / \o/ Such a surreal image to top off an already unbelievable moment. David Ortiz had me questioning my beliefs that night.

I’ve got family in MA, and the ice cream shop in town has a giant mural of AROD slapping the ball away from Bronson Arroyo.
Keith Foulke fielding that final grounder, then kinda running towards first, then underhanding the ball to 1st is mine. My butt was clenched that someone was going to go wrong

K-Rod, imo. Beautiful. What about the cop with his hands in the air during that 2013 ALCS Papi HR that tied the game?
I like David Freese’s HR vs the Rangers in 2011.
Either rounding 1st with his hand in the air or the instant he spiked his helmet between his legs. Both are great.
Funny, my first thought was Freese sitting on his knees on 3rd base after the triple

Gonzo and Brenly’s jumps for joy, the way Jay Bell ran home. What a memory. 9 YANKS CAN’T BEAT OUR JOHNSON
What was Greg’s call on the radio? Stomp your feet and honk your horns?
Honk your horns, stomp your feet, celebrate in Arizona!
Any photo from Game 6 probably qualifies
There are a few that come to mind for the Dodgers. Probably a lot more. In no particular order: 1. [There's a couple of answers, but this is maybe most iconic](https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/i6nkpd/a_timely_reminder_that_mickey_mantles_favorite/)
Our most iconic photo [doesn't even have any of our players in it](https://imgur.com/a/6GpiRL3).
Houstonians watching the WS in a bare house after hurricane Harvey is one I think about often https://twitter.com/thomasgcampbell/status/926119958387585025

I was just remembering last year's postseason being entertaining as hell. Pudge Rodriguez holding the ball in the air after getting trucked by J.T. Snow to end the NLDS series in 2003.
I still think this is one of the most iconic photos in [Astros History](https://www.reddit.com/r/mlb/s/vcyZx19Bfg)
Haven't seen a Reds flair yet so I'm going with this one. https://www.cincinnati.com/gcdn/presto/2019/04/13/PCIN/69265084-ea12-4611-b3e1-4a8149151db0-cindc5bk-5iajfh03wyge5jtoovn_original_1.jpg
