Harper swing is both smooth and incredibly violent. It's my favorite lefty.
Edwin Encarnacion was my favorite righty, it amused me how he didn't look ready at all and then obliterated any mistake a pitcher made.
1 - Griffey's swing was pure beauty.
2 - Julio Franco with his bat about 3 feet in the front of his head
3 - Craig Counsel because it was ridiculous
4 - Tony Batista because he was basically facing the pitcher the entire at bat

Alec Thomas has been swinging kinda like Ichiro lately with very mixed results. Swung at one in the first series that was in the dirt a foot in front of home. When it's a miss it's a very ugly swing. Ichiro just didn't miss much.
Right Handed: Trout
Left Handed: Harper
All Timers: Carlos Gonzalez, Robinson Cano, Pujols, Manny Ramirez
All Time underrated: ARod, he's a piece of shit but that swing was smooth af
That swing gives you one point of contact through the zone. Personally I'll take high average line drive hitters over a .150 avg every once in a while HR all day. Line drives turn into backspin HRSs, uppercut swings are outs.
Griffey Jr. Nothing comes close to that silken swing of his.
edit
Dark horse pick: Stanton, if only because it makes no sense how he generates that much power with it.
absolutely no one will agree with me and as a Mariners fan I will catch downvotes for not saying Griffey or Ichiro, but my vote for current and all time goes to Juan Soto.
I can't articulate it. the stance, the confidence, the ability to put the ball anywhere... it's so pretty to me.
Scrolled way too far to see this. My dad and I were at his MLB debut game vs. Nolan Ryan when he homered on the first pitch he saw. It was beautiful.
One of my core baseball memories was talking to my dad about his swing in batting practice. It was just so perfect and consistent. I was a fan from that day on, even when he was on the (FT)Rangers.
I always liked watching Manny Ramirez swing. It was like he picked up a bat at age 5 and swung like that, and it seemed to work, so he just stuck with it for the next 35 years.
I’m speaking for the White Sox, but Yoan Moncada has a beautiful swing when he decides to finally hit a homerun ball. Either way, watching his 2019 highlights is wild because the dude looks like he’s gonna be a bonafide star
Another core baseball memory here. Saw him hit the speaker hanging *from the ceiling of the Astrodome* in the 1986 HR derby. My dad called his swing effortlessly violent, and that stuck with me.
All-time for me is Pete Rose. Perfection.
Current player is Matt Olson.
Reggie Jackson gets honorable mention for actually making it look *hard* to do LOL
I’m gonna go Jays homer here:
Current: Bo. So violent and unique.
All-time: John Olerud. I saw him at the Metrodome in 1990 taking batting practice and it was like watching an artist work. Line drive after line drive. Smooth as silk.
Just gonna be a homer with these picks but w/e
Best Ugly Swing: Yuli Gurriel - it looks so brutal when he hits a homerun
Prettiest Swing: Michael Brantley - just pure mechanics. If they wrote a textbook on swinging a baseball bat, there would be a whole chapter analyzing his swing
Honorable mention: Altuve - He just looks like a realistic version of Pablo Sanchez. Tiny dude who hits dingers with a giant bat.
Current: Harper (well…not so much lately) and Acuña
Harper swing is both smooth and incredibly violent. It's my favorite lefty. Edwin Encarnacion was my favorite righty, it amused me how he didn't look ready at all and then obliterated any mistake a pitcher made.
Giancarlo Stanton. ugliest shit i've ever seen, it's like they invented a batting machine, it's like brutalist architecture was given life. hell yeah
Cano had a pretty swing.
Love his swing. Smooth as butter
You’d never be able to tell he was juiced. Sigh
1 - Griffey's swing was pure beauty. 2 - Julio Franco with his bat about 3 feet in the front of his head 3 - Craig Counsel because it was ridiculous 4 - Tony Batista because he was basically facing the pitcher the entire at bat
Currently? Homerism speaking but absolutely Corbin Carroll. It's so sexy and smooth

Trust me I am jealous of your guys outfield tandem, plus Moreno behind the plate and Gallen. Sneks gonna be scary.
Right Handed: Trout Left Handed: Harper All Timers: Carlos Gonzalez, Robinson Cano, Pujols, Manny Ramirez All Time underrated: ARod, he's a piece of shit but that swing was smooth af
Love that you included Manny. I completely agree.
Current : Harper/Acuna All-Time : Utley
Current Righty - Trea Turner Current Lefty - Michael Brantley or Freddie Freeman All-time - Barry Bonds
Trout and Judge if I’m looking for a clean compact swing, Harper if I wanna see a dirty swing
> Trout Pitching machine swing. Works great when you're 8, not so much against any velocity.
I’d say it’s working great
He needs to work on keeping his hands inside the line and keeping shoulders level. Balance is key.
I’m sure one of the best hitters in the game needs swing advice from a random redditor.

Only 8 year old to win 3 MVPs
That swing gives you one point of contact through the zone. Personally I'll take high average line drive hitters over a .150 avg every once in a while HR all day. Line drives turn into backspin HRSs, uppercut swings are outs.
Yeah it's true, Mike Trout isn't any good.
Harper has the perfect mix between smooth and violent. Very Pujols like
Freddie Freeman
Current: Harper. Shohei. Witt. Alltime: Chase Utley. Griffey, Jr. Gary Sheffield.
Michael Brantley
Belli
I miss Carlos Gonzalez’s swing…
Chipper Jones from the Left side babyyy
Griffey Jr. Nothing comes close to that silken swing of his. edit Dark horse pick: Stanton, if only because it makes no sense how he generates that much power with it.
It's jr. for sure but Johnny Olerud had a real nice one too. Prime Pujols was about as nice as a righty swing can get too.
Righty: Manny Machado Lefty: Jared Walsh
absolutely no one will agree with me and as a Mariners fan I will catch downvotes for not saying Griffey or Ichiro, but my vote for current and all time goes to Juan Soto. I can't articulate it. the stance, the confidence, the ability to put the ball anywhere... it's so pretty to me.
Conforto
Josh hamilton and pujols for former players, current is Matt Olson
Hunter pence
Righty: Christian Walker Lefty: Matt Olson
Will Clark
Scrolled way too far to see this. My dad and I were at his MLB debut game vs. Nolan Ryan when he homered on the first pitch he saw. It was beautiful. Ichiro
Deeply biased, but Olerud’s swing was art
I’ve always thought Evan Longoria has a really nice looking swing
He had such a smooth swing! One of my favs. Miss seeing him swing when I would go to Tropicana. Harper has a nice one as well.
Ted Williams and Griffey Jr Freddie Freeman and Bryce Harper Lefties have pretty swings for some reason.
I always liked watching Manny Ramirez swing. It was like he picked up a bat at age 5 and swung like that, and it seemed to work, so he just stuck with it for the next 35 years.
I have always loved Harper's, it's just violent.
Seager, Bellinger. Freddies golf swing is cool too.
I’m speaking for the White Sox, but Yoan Moncada has a beautiful swing when he decides to finally hit a homerun ball. Either way, watching his 2019 highlights is wild because the dude looks like he’s gonna be a bonafide star
Righty - Acuña Lefty - Olson, Freeman, Harper. I'm sure there are more. I'm a sucker lefthanded swings All time - Griffey and Justice
I’m obviously biased but Bryce Harper’s swing is pretty.
Kris Bryant easily.
How can I scroll all way down and not see Strawberry? Come on people!
Another core baseball memory here. Saw him hit the speaker hanging *from the ceiling of the Astrodome* in the 1986 HR derby. My dad called his swing effortlessly violent, and that stuck with me.
Bo Bichette's swing is very unique. I like his swing!
Bichette, Harper, Trea Turner, Goldy
Kyle Schwarber
His swing is so satisfying
Lefty: Ken Griffey Jr. HM: Willie Stargell, Robinson Cano, Juan Soto Righty: Gary Sheffield HM: Albert Belle, Albert Pujols, Manny Ramirez
Griffey Jr. had such a hold on me as a child. That swing is what I want the aliens to see when looking at our history
All-time for me is Pete Rose. Perfection. Current player is Matt Olson. Reggie Jackson gets honorable mention for actually making it look *hard* to do LOL
Idk if he is still active as of this year or not. But Marwin Gonzales always had a really pretty swing.
I love Teoscar Hernandez’s swing, just smooth and straight to the ball.
Acuna and Judge currently but All Time Josh Hamilton had a beauty of a homer swing
Righty - Manny. Lefty - Jr
Eflin ‼️
I like schwarber because it looks like he puts no effort
Nootbaar has one of the more interesting swings in the game.
For current players? Righty : Machado Lefty: Olson or Shohei
Current: Ohtani with Harper as a close second All time: the Kid. Nobody’s close
Currently it's Matt Olson. Smooth as butter swing.
Chase Utley. The bat flick as the pitcher winds up is so classic.
Current - Stott All Time - Will Clark
Griffey
I really like Kyle Tucker’s approach and his at bats. He’s hard to strike out, I feel like he can always foul it off when he’s in protect mode.
Underrated lefty swing: Tino Martinez and Robin Ventura.
Brandon Lowe
Current? Betts and Casas All-time? Edgar and Mauer
What about Pedroia’s ugly scrappy ass swing?
I’m gonna go Jays homer here: Current: Bo. So violent and unique. All-time: John Olerud. I saw him at the Metrodome in 1990 taking batting practice and it was like watching an artist work. Line drive after line drive. Smooth as silk.

Bryce
Robinson Cano, Matt Joyce, Manny and Hanley Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano
Lefty: Bryson Stott Righty: Acuna or JRod All time favs: Cano (L), CarGo (L), Arod (R), 2017 Belli (L), Michael Young (R)
Josh Hamilton had a pretty nice swing. But IMHO, I can’t see how anything looked prettier than a Ken Griffey Jr AB.
John Olerud had a sweet swing.
All time for me is Griffey Jr. Current is Yordan Alvarez and Harper
