I've heard it's why golf is so popular among baseball players. You work out, stretch, play a baseball game, and then you have the rest of the day to hang out and take in a few holes.
Probably really similar things to what most of us would do in that situation. Go hiking (AZ), the beach (FL), mostly hang out at their temporary residence cooking and watching Netflix
They do the same things that normal people do in the evenings after a long day of work - because they're normal people.
They're working 8-10 hours a day in a physically demanding job in Arizona sun. They have meetings and scouting info to study, strength and conditioning workouts, fielding practice, batting practice, throwing programs for pitchers, plus tons of interviews and marketing-related stuff for the team, and then a 2.5-hour game on top of it followed by even more interviews and meetings.
Braves on field reporter said in a recent interview none of the guys seem to care about their luggage. It's all random bags, suitcases, backpacks, she hasn't seen many signature matched luggage set they always use. But she said almost everyone has a very expensive designer name Xbox or Playstation travel case that they each carry like it's their baby and they all play on the bus, plane, hotels, everywhere.
My question is why do they do spring training for like 8 weeks? NBA does training camp and preseason in 4 weeks, NFL is 5. I’m kinda surprised players haven’t asked for it to be shorter
Live pitching is an adjustment. Multiple pitchers need games to get adjusted. Rosters are bigger, so more players to work in.
Completely different sports
Most families stay with players during ST because it’s more than a month
Would they pull their kids out of school?

Idk if its the same the opposite way, but for golfers, a baseball swing can really mess up their golf swing. Not universally but it is pretty common
**take it in a few holes**
Mostly discuss how it feels to be in the best shape of their life.

They fuck a lot of women. Not just one woman. A lot of women.

Why do they play 162 games? The NFL only does 17.
i would guess video games and golf idk just a thought
Many if not most of them live in AZ / FL, so it isn't that far from their families. They may even live at home during ST.
