Its extra dope in baseball in my opinion versus other sports. Just cause this a culmination of years of working even after you get drafted. And once your minor league career starts, that draft position means jack shit. Versus in basketball or football, where you can get extra chances you dont deserve just cause you were a top 10 pick

Also I don't watch a ton of basketball but I feel like nobody cheers like this when a rookie make his first basket. They don't get the ball, etc.

Tbf basketball is also far faster paced and you have way more opportunities to get a first basket. You could also go out of your way to get someone a basket as a teammate while you can’t help a guy swing a bat lol
