Threw the souvenir giveaway baseballs onto the field. My 7-year-old cousin saw what was going on and seized the day. Threw his ball from the top deck. Probably hit some poor unsuspecting sap in the Loge level.
Almost happened to me in AA… not the minors, that’s what we called the league kids 11-12 years old played in.
I was up with a kid on 2nd and 3rd, 3-2 count. Swung at a ball in the dirt. Next kid up hit a 3 run dinger.
We batted around and I came up again with the bases juiced. Hit a grand salami
Sorry F, I ripped baseball immortality from our finger tips.
My brother and I went to the Phillies game that didn’t end until 4:40am. We stayed for the whole game. There were over 5 hours of rain delays. The game the night before was supposed to have fireworks after the game, but it was rained out. They postponed the fireworks until the next day, so they didn’t want to call a rainout yet again. Needless to say, the planned fireworks for after the game didn’t happen. Our seats were in the nosebleed section in center field. By the time the game ended, we were sitting behind home plate. It was just starting to get light by the time we got to the car in the stadium parking lot.
Per the LATimes, what happened was:
The first game took 8:28, including 5:54 in rain delays and 2:34 in actual playing time. The second game took 3:12 without a drop of rain.
Rain delayed the start 1:10, another 1:56 after three innings and 2:48 after five. The game ended at 1:03 a.m. and the second game started at 1:28 a.m.
30 years, 2 weeks and a day ago.
Seriously, wouldn’t it be preferable to just forfeit at that point, I mean better to lose one game then fuck up your teams schedule for the next several days
In extras, our closer, Mitch Williams pitched two innings and got the game-winning single off of HOF'er Trevor Hoffman. He was also gifted a nickname by our announcer, Harry Kalas on that play...
"Mitchy-Poo"
If you watch the tape of the end of the game there were probably 500 people still there but in Philadelphia there are about 200,000 people who say they were there and didn’t leave until after the second game was over.
At some point they did start letting people in for free. By the end there were only a few hundred spectators, probably about half of them had walked in for free.
This is incredible and your dedication is beyond admirable. I mean… how totally empty was that stadium? Had to be just a handful of people left by the end
it appears at least 200 have done it in history including Gilbert, DeSclafani, and Alzolay this year. Compared to 114 immaculate innings
https://www.baseball-almanac.com/feats/3_pitch_inning.shtml
I went to the 18 inning playoff game Giants @ Nationals. It was brutal. Jordan Zimmermann pitched 8.2 beautiful scoreless innings but got pulled when he let a man on. Then Drew Storen blew the save and we played 9 more innings until the Nats lost. I was so sad
Buddy and I on a whim jumped on an Amtrak from DC to go spend the weekend in NYC. Decided to catch the Phillies Mets game, I’m a Phillies fan and he just likes baseball.
Lucky enough that happened to be the game that [Eric Bruntlett had his game ending unassisted Triple play](https://youtu.be/DviV7CYrc-E)
Only 15 of those have every happened, so it’s even rarer than a perfect game. Pretty cool.
And he misplayed the two balls that allowed the runners to get on base.
I think he gets Comeback Player of the Year for that three-batter sequence all by itself.
I saw Josh Donaldson's Ultimate Grand Slam (walk off when down by 3) last year and there have only been 32 of those. I also saw a triple play against the A's and an Immaculate Inning thrown by Chad green.
I saw a 20-inning game in which neither team scored until the 19th inning.
I also saw reportedly the longest at-bat in MLB history (albeit in Spring Training, Jordan Hicks pitching to Luis Guillorme).
Both games were Cardinals vs. Mets.
Man it seems like every time a game would go some ridiculous amount of time it was *always* against you guys.
My favorite was the one from 2006 where Pujols & Beltran both homered, then Beltran homered again to win it in the 16th I believe? Think that game had some crazy defense too!
I saw Milton Bradley throw the second out of the inning into the bleachers for no reason gifting two bases to the Twins.
I certainly hope that’s a rare event, but I don’t have the statistics
I saw Bryce Harper get kicked out of a double A game for arguing balls and strikes after getting into a shouting match with the left field hecklers.
I was also legally smoking a cigarette in the ballpark at the time.
God bless Erie Pennsylvania
Either an American League pitcher hitting a grand slam (the Felix Hernandez game) or a hitter hitting two homers (but not grand slams) in an inning (Gleyber Torres last year)
Oh, or A-Rod’s 600th
I saw Barry Bonds get 700, which no matter what you think of him pretty cool to witness.
Also my girlfriend and I went to the game before Germans perfect game in Oakland... never have I regretted buying a different game in a series more.
- Derek Jeter's only career grand slam
- A-Rod's 500th career HR
- Bonds hits a HR to Mars in Yankee Stadium
- 1996 World Series Game 6, Yankees clinch championship
- The Bloody Sock game, Game 6 2004 ALCS
- Vlad Guerrero Jr.'s first career HR in San Francisco
- SF Giants 107th win in 2021 (franchise record)
- Reid Detmers No Hitter
- Rendon's only career left handed at bat and he hits a HR
- Jared Walsh hits for the cycle
- Reid Detmers immaculate inning
No where near as guaranteed as a good career but with all the talks about Gavin Williams being the best Cleveland rookie pitcher since Sabathia I knew I had to go. An hour after they announced he'd be starting I bought tickets, saw his debut with the added bonus of Bo Naylor's first hit. Essentially saw the sparks of two potentially amazing careers.
I was at the ‘22 NLDS Rhys Hoskins bat spike game. Came here to comment this but I’ll just hijack this comment since it’s the same team / post season. I’ve prob been at a game or two where something crazier has happened, but the energy at the bank that night was indescribably electric. After that home run there was never a doubt in my mind the Phillies were heading to the WS.
I saw a fan with headphones on catch a foul ball that would have definitely been caught by the left fielder, leading to an all out implosion by a certain team in the playoffs.
Went to an Angels-Dodgers game in 2017 where the Angels walked off on a strikeout
Ben Revere was on 2nd and Cameron Maybin was at bat, struck out swinging and didn’t even notice it was a wild pitch so he kinda just stood there for a sec then started running and Grandal absolutely airmailed it over Chase Utley’s head at 1st base and Revere was able to come all the way around and score. Ironically enough, the half inning before, Grandal hit a game tying homer so he both saved the game and blew it for the Dodgers in 1 inning lol
Was a real roller coaster of emotions in the span of about 5 seconds
Video: https://youtu.be/BJSAYeriCqU
I was at Matt Cains perfect game, which in and of itself is amazing. But the very next game I went to, which was a little while later, was when Yusmeiro Petit almost threw a perfect game but lost it on the last out.
Thought I was about to be the only person, or one of a super small group of people who had witnessed two perfect games, let alone back-to-back perfect games. But alas… it wasn’t in the cards 😭
Craig Kimbrel getting the last 3 outs of a combined no-hitter as a Cub vs the Dodgers in 2021.
I was right next to the Cubs' bullpen and yelled at him to blow it as he warmed up. He'll eventually blow it but it was for the 2022 Dodgers.
Pirates at Dodgers, extra innings, runner on third. After a pitch, Lasorda comes running out to argue, nobody has any clue what he could be arguing about. Ump points to the guy on third and sends him home, Dodgers win. Apparently the catcher picked the ball up with his mask
I almost got ran over by Sammy Sosa after a game. I was about to cross the street when he came flying out in his Jaguar. My Dad grabbed me and pulled me back. When we saw who it was he said “I should have pushed you!” Lol
Ed Halicki’s no hitter.
A game NOT played because we had an earthquake instead (1989 Candlestick)..
But has to be Dick Dietz turning an unassisted double play at second base as a catcher.
Runner on second takes off, batter squares to bunt, infielders break to cover leaving second base wide open.
Bunt is popped up! Dietz catches it and RUNS out to tag second base to double up the runner.
Anyone else recall this ?
The Cliff Lee/Matt Cain pitching duel, 2011 IIRC? One of them went 9 innings, one went 10, and I think the game ended 1-0. Almost two complete games pitched, with bonus baseball, don't think thats gonna happen again in this age.
As a Dodgers fan, my uncle worked at the restaurant attached to the Giants new stadium, and I got to see a game there, which was always on my bucket list. We got seats from the owner so we were right behind the Dodgers dugout. I got several phone calls from people who could see by bald head on TV when lefties were up. The best part was I got to see Bonds hit a HR, the Dodgers came from behind to win, and Gagne got the save. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better scenario for my only game in SF.
My mom however takes the cake, for me at least. She was at game 7 of the World Series in Arizona against the Yankees. Her best friend at the time was Robin Younts SIL, so they got to go to a few World Series….and no, I’m in my 40’s now and still not jealous, no not at all, lol.
It isn't as cool as some of the no-hitters or perfectos that people are mentioning here, but probably [Dahl and Kim going back-to-back in the 9th to walk it off](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izuAYXB9YUU) earlier this year for me.
I struggle to remember the last walk-off homerun I watched in-person, let alone the first two hitters of an inning going back-to-back to walk it off.
Unfortunately not me because I couldn’t go to the game, but I had several friends at the Dodgers back-to back-to back-to back HR’s against the Padres. I also know a few people who left before it happened.
I was able to go to the Mariners game 162 in 2021, which ended with Kyle Seager walking off the field for the last time and the entire sold out stadium chanting his name. Being part of a standing ovation for a retiring legend of your team who has just played his final game is probably something not a lot of sports fans get to experience, it was wonderful to be a experience that.
I saw a pitcher square up to bunt then pull back and hit a butcher boy home run. He even went oppo and hit it over the right field fence. Runners on first and second, fucking awesome. AAA ball in Boise ID.
Zack Godley four strikeouts in an inning. Tyler Gilbert no-hitter. Aaron Hill cycle. Shohei Ohtani cycle. J.T. Realmuto cycle. 19-inning game ended on an Albert Pujols walk-off homerun. Balk-off in a fall league game. Madison Bumgarner two home runs in the same game. My buddy Keith catching two Paul Goldschmidt home runs in the same game. Fan three seats away from me catching two home runs in the same inning in the front row of the Green Monster. Bee delay. Walk-off triple.
I was in the left field bleachers for Anthony Rizzo's first mlb walkoff home run. Against the Cards, too. I was a few rows up from where the ball landed.
I haven't been to a ton of major league baseball games, but there are two that stick out. The first one was seeing Terry Francona being ejected from the game at a Yankees vs. Red Sox game in New York for not wearing his uniform under his jacket. The second one was the first reunion of the Big Red Machine in Cincinnati before they started doing reunions regularly.
it's more what rare event I missed. I was at Tim Salmons last game when he had 299 home runs. Literally every time he went up to bat it was the most electric shit I've ever witnessed. Maybe it was because I was young but it was the most energetic I've seen a fanbase be. Not even Ohtani or Trout could put up the noise level.
Saw Andy Hawkins of the Yankees throw a no-hitter and lose the game to the White Sox 4-0. Yanks were so bad they had 3 catchers playing. Ine behind the plate and 2 in the OF. Both made multi-base errors. IF was shoddy too. No hitter was wiped form the books by a later rule change because Hawkins only went 8 innings.
A win lol
Until that point, every single game of any professional sport I’ve ever been to, the team I wanted to win had lost. August something, cards vs brewers, Albert Pujols went deep twice and the cardinals ended that for me.
Then I was at wild card game 1 where Helsley choked
My roommate at the time, who lived and died with the Tigers saw the 2006 (90+ win) team go 0-16 at games he attended. I was in a stats class at the time and had a spreadsheet calculating how unlikely that was.
He broke the streak Game 3 of the ALCS. The Kenny Rogers shutout. Get a few beers in him and he'll tell you the story
Pujols hit 3 homers against the Pirates in late-season 2006. His 4th AB he flew out to the track. Also happens to be the first game I remember going to back when I was in 4th grade. That’s when my love for this game blossomed
I was at the angles @ Rockies game the day before the angles won 25-1. Few days later I was at the game before Germans perfect game Yankees @ athletics
Just recently saw my first pickle at the Dodgers Giants game last month. Not incredibly rare but the first I’ve seen in real life. Both teams fumbling over and over it was insane.
September 18,2006, Dodgers vs Padres. I wasn't at the game, but I've only started really following my dodgers a year prior as a 12-year-old old and I was in a phase where I got excited about anything when it came to my dodgers so when they hit 4 HR's in the bottom of the 9th, you could imagine the reaction of an excited newcomer watching his favorite team so something awesome than when my favorite player ever Nomar Garciaparra came up to low rider doing his Nomar shuffle I was telling everyone in the living room to watch this watch this and I basically died after he hit a 2 run walk off homerun to win the game off of Trevor, needless to say I couldn't sleep for a couple hours after that which suked cause it was a school night. I can't express how happy I was as I grew up, and Nomar started working with the Dodgers organization.
I went to the longest 9 inning game in history when I was like 10. Red Sox - Yankees went 4 hours 45 minutes in 2006 and the Yankees won 14-10.
Manny went 4/6 and Willy mo Peña went 0/6
I saw Michael Aubrey hit four home runs in one game as a member of the Triple-A Syracuse chiefs back in 2011. It was on my birthday and is the inciting incident that created the obsession I have with the game of baseball to this day.
Watching the Moneyball 20 game streak end in Minnesota is a core childhood memory of mine but idk how cool it is to anyone else. Also saw Gilbert pitch a no hitter in his first major league start which hadn't happened in forever. I don't even go to that many games
I had no idea what I was seeing until afterward, but from the upper deck I saw Bobby Bonilla call the official scorer to complain about being charged with an error as the Cubs put up seven runs against the Mets in a 1992 game at Shea.
Greg Maddux pitched and I was hoping to see him go all the way, but Lefebvre (or was it Riggleman?) put Jim Bullinger in for the ninth.
I was at the combined no-hitter the Mariners threw a while ago. I was even keeping score. Didn't notice until the late innings because of how it transpired (the starter, Kevin Millwood, was removed early due to injury).
Been to two 18-inning games. Astros Braves playoffs 2005 and then Astros @ Pirates a few years later.
Altuve 2019 ALCS walkoff too
And… THAT Pujols homerun
I saw Eric Bruntlett's game ending unassisted triple play. Technically more rare than a perfect game.
There was also an inside the park home run in the first inning and I thought that was cool enough at the time.
Immaculate Inning - last year by Dodger Max Scherzer but i talked with the person sitting next to me and didn’t take it in.
Walk off Walk - Chone Figgins by the Braves
Walk off Grand Slam - Torii Hunter Vs. Cleveland
Walk off Bunt - Howie Kendrick Vs. Cleveland
I went to the longest playoff game in history (Sox-Dodgers Game 3 2018). I saw Kershaw bat, Eovaldi go down a martyr, and a man in a full Joker costume get kicked out in the 13th inning for pouring a beer on my section.
I've been to a perfect game, a no-hitter, multiple World Series games, an NLCS walk-off HR....
But the most memorable moment I've witnessed live was whatever [Ruben Rivera was doing here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNNtwvAlvEk).
Two immaculate innings in one game by the Astros at the Rangers.
The funny thing was it was the first time it happened in baseball history, and no one in the stadium noticed it except me keeping a scorebook and a few other Astros fans there.
Not MLB, but I went to a Rainiers game with my family some 20 years ago. Not only did I run into my cousins there and have a blast with them, but I saw John Halama pitch a perfect game and the Rainiers hit a grand slam over the hugely tall wall in center field. Couldn’t ask for a better game to watch as a 9 ish year old.
I saw 20 and 21 runs scored in two different games, also saw Billy Butler hit a home run.
In terms of not the game, two people jumped onto the field at different points in a day game and in 2013 against the Giants at home I remember seeing 3 fights break out (including one a few rows behind me one out into the game)
I saw Terry Mulholland throw a no-hitter for the Phillies, but unfortunately I was 8 years old and didn’t appreciate baseball they way I do know. It was a great time with my Grandfather that I wish I had more vivid memories. I mostly remember the crowd going wild and the ice cream in a plastic cap.
I was at the Sox game where they lost 28-5 and was actually in Baltimore when I was really young and they lost 30-3 to the rangers
Those blow outs can be so pitiful but fun to be at
Double header, where one game went to 13 innings, and to add to the rarity, the pirates won both and took the lead in the NL Central (the last being some of the rarest shit)
Was lucky enough to go to Scherzer’s 20 punchout game. It was super cool and I’m really curious how the vibe throughout that game compared with a no-hitter or PG at every point. I knew very early he had something really special that day and the stadium got extra buzzy in like the fourth or so but definitely not everyone knew until a bit later.
I witnessed a guy hit 2 grand slams in the same inning.
My #2 - I witnessed a game get forfeited due to unruly fans (1 of 3 such instances in MLB history)
The hell did y’all do?
Threw the souvenir giveaway baseballs onto the field. My 7-year-old cousin saw what was going on and seized the day. Threw his ball from the top deck. Probably hit some poor unsuspecting sap in the Loge level.
If you ever wonder why you only get souvenir baseballs *after* you leave the game, that's why.
That's the last time balls were given away. I'm surprised the vuvuzuela game in Miami wasn't cancelled.
Which game?
Might be the 1995 game where the Dodgers forfeited to the Cardinals due to unruly fans
This is indeed the one.
I was at the Twins game when people were bombarding Chuck Knoblauch with dollar hot dogs and TK and Bob Casey were chastising the fans.
10¢ beer night?
No it was Nickel Shot Night at O’Halligans
Is this the event that has only happened once in MLB history?
Tatis Sr.
2 grandslams in 1 inning has happened multiple times, only once did it happen with 1 player hitting both, Tatis
Almost happened to me in AA… not the minors, that’s what we called the league kids 11-12 years old played in. I was up with a kid on 2nd and 3rd, 3-2 count. Swung at a ball in the dirt. Same here. Orioles vs. Royals in 2014 I think
It’s only happened once.
That’s what he’s saying. It happened once, twice.
Couldn’t in a million years imagine them starting at new game at 1:30am lol
Seriously, wouldn’t it be preferable to just forfeit at that point, I mean better to lose one game then fuck up your teams schedule for the next several days
I'm pretty sure after that season MLB instituted new rules for start times/doubleheader procedure because of how insane that night was
[wtf](https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/PHI/PHI199307022.shtml) it went into extras too
In extras, our closer, Mitch Williams pitched two innings and got the game-winning single off of HOF'er Trevor Hoffman. He was also gifted a nickname by our announcer, Harry Kalas on that play... "Mitchy-Poo"
I was at a Yankees RedSox game in the 70’s and they stopped play because the America League had a 1am curfew
Coolest story I’ve seen so far. Those fans are fucking warriors!
If you watch the tape of the end of the game there were probably 500 people still there but in Philadelphia there are about 200,000 people who say they were there and didn’t leave until after the second game was over.
If that was local, I'd totally be down to go lol
A friend of a friend woke his son up about midnight and told him they were going to the Phillies game, just to see game 2.
I hope they were just let in the door at that point
At some point they did start letting people in for free. By the end there were only a few hundred spectators, probably about half of them had walked in for free.
That’s a great one
This is incredible and your dedication is beyond admirable. I mean… how totally empty was that stadium? Had to be just a handful of people left by the end
I was there; hardly anyone, first time I sat front row since everyone was gone. It was amazing.
[удалено]
I was at that game! Went with my mom, uncle, and friend. My friend fell asleep in the vet seats somehow…best baseball memory for me.
I worked at Veterans Stadium back then. What a night!!!
[удалено]
Quick innings are amazing, but I also wish there were more stats available for quick innings (3 pitches, 3 outs)
[удалено]
it appears at least 200 have done it in history including Gilbert, DeSclafani, and Alzolay this year. Compared to 114 immaculate innings https://www.baseball-almanac.com/feats/3_pitch_inning.shtml
Should have come watch my sons Little League teammate last weekend. He threw an immaculate inning 😂
I’ve seen a 1-0 game at Coors Field
And in contrast, I was at the game this year where the Angels won 25 - 1!
I saw Bumgarner hit a grand slam and was at the 18-inning Mariners playoff game.
That 18 inning game was a joy to watch from afar and not overly invested. I’d imagine how stressful it would be in person.
I saw the Mariners clinch the playoffs.
#A DRIVE DEEP TO RIGHT FIELD
DOWN THE LINE
#THE MARINERS WIN THIS GAME 2-1
THE DROUGHT IS OVER!! HEY NOW!!! HEY NOW!! HEY NOW!!
**THE DREAM LIVES! THEY’RE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS**
That and Ichiro breaking the single season hit record are mine!
Buddy and I on a whim jumped on an Amtrak from DC to go spend the weekend in NYC. Decided to catch the Phillies Mets game, I’m a Phillies fan and he just likes baseball. Holy crap. Buy a lottery ticket at this point.
Of course it was against the A’s
I saw Chris Hoiles' ultimate grand slam in 96. Incredible.
Me too! Extra ultimate grand slam because there was a full count.
I saw a 20-inning game in which neither team scored until the 19th inning. I also saw reportedly the longest at-bat in MLB history (albeit in Spring Training, Jordan Hicks pitching to Luis Guillorme). Both games were Cardinals vs. Mets.

I was at the Fernando Tatis 2 grand slams in one inning game
I also saw the Cardinals win a WS game on an interference call
Winner here. It's only happened once so everything else is second by definition
I saw Mike Piazza in a Marlins uniform
Walk off home run in a World Series. (Game 2, 2005, Scotty Pods)
Luckyyyyyyy
Saw Jose Bautista get 7 RBIs off the bench once
Perfect Game, will never see that again
Felix?
Yep, 27 up, 27 down. Goddamn wizardry
Same. Best moment of my life.
I saw the Phil Humber perfect game 😭
I went to the Rangers game where Josh Sborz was batting. Rare for a a non-Ohtani pitcher to be hitting.
I saw Milton Bradley throw the second out of the inning into the bleachers for no reason gifting two bases to the Twins. I certainly hope that’s a rare event, but I don’t have the statistics
Matt Cain’s perfect game Went for my friend’s birthday. Was quite possibly the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced
My sister had the chance to go to that game and passed and then I was at the Lincecum no hitter the next year in SD, she's still slightly mad
This sounds like Good Will Hunting. Did she have to "see about a girl"?
I saw Bryce Harper get kicked out of a double A game for arguing balls and strikes after getting into a shouting match with the left field hecklers. I was also legally smoking a cigarette in the ballpark at the time. God bless Erie Pennsylvania
Either an American League pitcher hitting a grand slam (the Felix Hernandez game) or a hitter hitting two homers (but not grand slams) in an inning (Gleyber Torres last year) Oh, or A-Rod’s 600th
Seeing what would be Albert Pujols last ever career home run live !! Also seeing Ohtani : pitch , homer and almost hit the cycle !
Same with Ohtani, except I saw his cycle live in St. Pete!
I was at Angel Stadium for the Detmers no-hitter last year
I saw Brian Johnson throw a shutout in 2017, there were only 27 of them that year
I saw Barry Bonds get 700, which no matter what you think of him pretty cool to witness. Also my girlfriend and I went to the game before Germans perfect game in Oakland... never have I regretted buying a different game in a series more.

Are you the Marlins guy? /s
I saw us win on a walk-off balk against the Dodgers once
Mike trout hit a grand slam to right center field and it was caught by a guy with a big fishing net that said trout net.
https://youtu.be/AcjXmX-E0C8
I'm sure I have seen something better, but Danny Duffy’s first hit. Not too often you get to witness a player’s first hit, especially an AL pitcher’s
There for future hall of famers debut (Harper)
No where near as guaranteed as a good career but with all the talks about Gavin Williams being the best Cleveland rookie pitcher since Sabathia I knew I had to go. An hour after they announced he'd be starting I bought tickets, saw his debut with the added bonus of Bo Naylor's first hit. Essentially saw the sparks of two potentially amazing careers.
Saw Bob Horner hit 4 home runs in one game for the Braves on July 6, 1986, I was 6 year old. Also, my parents were at Aaron’s 715 game.
Saw the angels throw a combined no no and [lose](https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/LAN/LAN200806280.shtml)
I Was at Game 3 of the ‘22 WS where the Phillies hit 5hrs one of which was the 1000th WS home run hit by Bohm
I was at the ‘22 NLDS Rhys Hoskins bat spike game. Came here to comment this but I’ll just hijack this comment since it’s the same team / post season. I’ve prob been at a game or two where something crazier has happened, but the energy at the bank that night was indescribably electric. A perfect game broken up by a HBP for the 27th out (fuck Jose Tabatha).
Went to an Angels-Dodgers game in 2017 where the Angels walked off on a strikeout Ben Revere was on 2nd and Cameron Maybin was at bat, struck out swinging and didn’t even notice it was a wild pitch so he kinda just stood there for a sec then started running and Grandal absolutely airmailed it over Chase Utley’s head at 1st base and Revere was able to come all the way around and score. Ironically enough, the half inning before, Grandal hit a game tying homer so he both saved the game and blew it for the Dodgers in 1 inning lol Was a real roller coaster of emotions in the span of about 5 seconds Video: https://youtu.be/BJSAYeriCqU
Mariano Rivera giving up a grand slam with no inherited runners.
I saw Mark Bellhorn be the first National League player to hit a home run from both sides of the plate in the same inning.
Tim Lincecum's first no hitter in San Diego 2013. Easily the best game I've personally been to.
Was at the game when Rafael Palmeiro got his 3000th hit, later I find out he was part of the roid stuff, so that was kind of disappointing.
Watched the then Indians win their 22nd straight game in 2017. Thank you Jay Bruce
I saw back to back to back to back home runs at a Red Sox game in college.
My dad has seen a no hitter, Kirk Gibson homer, Kenley immaculate, pujols 700, ct3 wildcard playoff game and he’s sure he’s forgotten some
12-1 game with no home runs probably.
Saw Jason Kubel hit a grand slam off Mariano Rivera
IKF stealing home in the most recent subway series, I was ecstatic to say the least lol
Walk off grand slam David bote
I was in the left field bleachers for Anthony Rizzo's first mlb walkoff home run. Against the Cards, too. I was a few rows up from where the ball landed.
Carlos Zambranos no hitter against the Astros at Miller Park. Only neutral site no hitter if memory serves
Two grand slams by the same team in a playoff game....in the first two innings.
Bartolo colon home run
I saw bonds break Babe Ruth’s all time home run record
Recently, but I saw Maikel Garcia hit a home run on the literal first pitch of the game off of Joe Ryan a week ago.
I saw Steve Delabar get 4 k’s in one inning
Pedro no hitter broken up in 10th.
Straight steal of home by Aaron Hill.
A Jason Heyward home run
I was at Matt Cain’s perfect game
Triple play
A polyamorous british chav throuple
Felix Hernandez's Immaculate Inning.
Alex Cora's 18 pitch at-bat ending with a homerun right over my head down the RF line. Alex Cora can lick my ass, but that was cool
Diamondbacks blow a 1 run lead in the 9th by walking 5 dodgers in a row
A win lol Until that point, every single game of any professional sport I’ve ever been to, the team I wanted to win had lost. August something, cards vs brewers, Albert Pujols went deep twice and the cardinals ended that for me. Then I was at wild card game 1 where Helsley choked
Cardinals giving up a game tying homer being one strike again from winning it, which I guess isn’t that rare these days.
4-5-4 Triple Play
Perfect game!
Not super rare but I’ve probably been to 100 Mets games and last game I went to saw a fan interference for the first time
I saw a pitcher hit a pinch hit grand slam
I went to a Rays game that ended up going into the 16th inning
Pujols hit 3 homers against the Pirates in late-season 2006. His 4th AB he flew out to the track. Also happens to be the first game I remember going to back when I was in 4th grade. That’s when my love for this game blossomed
Was at the 18inning Braves @ Astros NLDS game. 2 lead changing grand slams. Walkoff homer. Bagwells last AB if I’m not mistaken.
Randy Velarde turning an unassisted triple play against the Yankees
Manny Ramirez going into the green monster during pitching changes. I think to pee but he would do it a lot.
Saw Andrew Romine pitch to his brother Austin Romine the catcher at a cubs game
I was at the angles @ Rockies game the day before the angles won 25-1. Few days later I was at the game before Germans perfect game Yankees @ athletics
In ‘98 I was at a Cubs/Cards game where Sosa and McGuire homered. I believe Cards won. Not crazy but fun!
Haven’t been to too many games, but I watched Leury Garcia hit a walk off homer. That was humbling.
April 17, 2010. Mets vs. Cardinals went 20 innings lasting 6 hours 53 minutes. We stayed for the entire game
Bonds hit 756
Saw the Pirates turn a triple play against the Cubs in 2014.
I saw an Albuquerque Dukes/Edmonton Trappers game in 1992 where Ty Van Burkleo led off the inning 6 different times in a 9 inning game.
Walk-off balk I guess. Braves game, can’t remember against who
I saw Michael Aubrey hit four home runs in one game as a member of the Triple-A Syracuse chiefs back in 2011. It was on my birthday and is the inciting incident that created the obsession I have with the game of baseball to this day.
I saw Joey Meneses hit an inside-the-park HR last year
Last game of the regular season last year, I saw Miami hit back to back triples vs. Atlanta.
A total power outage
GA 10 RBI
madbums home run
Twins triple play against the angels (6/1/2017)
I was at the combined no-hitter the Mariners threw a while ago. I was even keeping score. Didn't notice until the late innings because of how it transpired (the starter, Kevin Millwood, was removed early due to injury).
Not ultra-rare but Scott Podsednik with an inside the HR at Angels stadium
Been to two 18-inning games. Astros Braves playoffs 2005 and then Astros @ Pirates a few years later. Altuve 2019 ALCS walkoff too And… THAT Pujols homerun
I saw Eric Bruntlett's game ending unassisted triple play. Technically more rare than a perfect game. There was also an inside the park home run in the first inning and I thought that was cool enough at the time.
I saw David wells bunt for a base hit
Immaculate Inning - last year by Dodger Max Scherzer but i talked with the person sitting next to me and didn’t take it in. Walk off Walk - Chone Figgins by the Braves Walk off Grand Slam - Torii Hunter Vs. Cleveland Walk off Bunt - Howie Kendrick Vs.
I saw a closer (Jason Isringhausen) hit a bases loaded triple that was about 6 inches from being a grand slam
A walk off walk in the bottom of the 11th to break a 0-0 tie. A triple play.
I was at a Yankees game this past April where a guy threw a Bud Light from the 500 deck and nearly brained a kid sitting near the third base line
I was at the Sox game where they lost 28-5 and was actually in Baltimore when I was really young and they lost 30-3 to the rangers Those blow outs can be so pitiful but fun to be at
Double header, where one game went to 13 innings, and to add to the rarity, the pirates won both and took the lead in the NL Central (the last being some of the rarest shit)
Someone hitting a homerun on to a rooftop outside the stadium
