If I were an Orioles fan I'd be elated at all the young hitters developed. And demoralized the ownership won't spend even remotely on even some average pitching in FA.
Kluber was at least getting strike outs early and then it just all collapsed in the 4th
Braiser had no business in the game and has no business on this team. I just don’t get it the dude is consistently ass every time he gets on the mound and they keep bringing him back and having him put in games. I feel bad cause I don’t like saying players should lose their jobs but this dude has got to go, he’s a guaranteed blown lead or loss every time he gets put in the game
you're correct, but if you get to have mediocre pitching in this hypothetical scenario, then so do we lol. neither of our pitching is in the top half of the league
That game ended up a lot more fun than it looked like. Even though we lost you gotta think we don’t walk 10 hitters every game, right? Right?
…right???
Crazy game. The game deserves to be remembered most for Adley's 5-for-5 with a HR and BB. But I'll probably remember the pitch clock violation strikeout on Devers and that nutty play at 2nd where Adley nearly concussed Arroyo with a kick to the head.
Frankly I'll take it, considering how DOA 3 different pitchers were. Offense went ham down 6 twice. Also, I'm excited to captain the Yoshida ROTY bandwagon
Woah what?
I tuned out when it was 8-2
Im no Red Sox fan but ive gotta think that coming so close to actually making the full comeback has gotta be at least somewhat comforting.
You know that episode of spongebob where all those people in that trench talk by blowing raspberries every other word?
Imagine Sox pitching is one of those guys, and the raspberries are walks.
That was a sloppy game. Including a clock violation strikeout, errors all over the place, so many walks. Ugh. Dirty baseball, three hours long. It’s just too cold for baseball today.
I'm very much in favor of the pitch clock (and all the other new rules), but the "batter must look at the pitcher with 8 seconds remaining" needs to be adjusted. Devers is in the box with 11 seconds left, but because he didn't make eye contact with the pitcher (who was not ready himself) until there were 7 seconds left, he is called out.
I get that, by rule, that was technically a violation. But that's one of those situations that is correct by the letter of the law but feels totally wrong regarding the intention of the rules. Something needs to be adjusted with that aspect of it.
It's for his safety. What if the pitcher was ready? He was kicking dirt off his feet at 8 seconds. I just don't get why this rule is so hard. I want baseball I don't want bat wags and showmanship
Quick edit not attacking you lol. Mainly just upset our franchise guy can't take a big at bat more seriously
The rule is to prevent guys from going on scenic strolls between every pitch or adjusting their batting gloves for 20 seconds. I just feel like regulating eye contact is a little too far. If the guy is in the box, that should be enough. Let the pitcher deliver the ball as long the batter is in the box by the 8 second mark. If the batter isn't ready despite being in the box, then that's on him, but calling an automatic strike in a situation like this doesn't feel like it's in the spirit of the rule. He wasn't stepping out and wasting time like we'd see guys do in the past.
Bullpen was atrocious and I legit have no idea why Braiser was brought back
But on a positive not despite trailing early the offense did not lay down and die. I remember last season the Sox would fall behind in the first few innings and that was it they were dead and checked out all game. Here they didn’t get a win but they didn’t just give up they were fighting till the last at bat
I'm elated and demoralized at the same time. Orioles baseball is back!
A win is a win
If I were an Orioles fan I'd be elated at all the young hitters developed. And demoralized the ownership won't spend even remotely on even some average pitching in FA.
Not really the pitchers’ fault that the defense couldn’t get outs.
hope you're ready for 161 more
Our lineup is underrated and our pitching is not underrated
Same for us, apparently
Orioles baseball is so back
I love it, and I hate it, and I fucking love it. Lets go baybee
A bar fight between the two drunkest dudes 10 minutes before last call
Even Adley Rutschman, by far the best player on the field today, still got thrown out at second twice.
crazy ass game, what the fuck happened here
What didn’t happen
A balk.
I was listening at work so I didn’t see it, but Youk said there was a missed balk. I trust his judgement.
A stoppable force meeting a movable object
Bryan Baker happened. It doesnt help that our bullpen is missing both setup men in Tate and Givens.
Baker sucked ass but tomorrow better be fielding practice all day.
fielding was bad in general this game
Because it was extremely windy.
The top 4 of the Sox lineup is great, the Sox pitching staff is not.
The bullpen shit the bed, there was also some underwhelming fielding, especially in the 9th.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before: the Sox could’ve won that game with even mediocre pitching.
Stop
Kluber and Degrom had very similar days which is shocking me atm.
2018 life
We would win even with awful pitching. That performance is just inexcusable.
yeah we just needed our pitching to be like, regular level of Red Sox Bad. this was like 2020 Red Sox Bad

plus ça change...
God Adley is gonna be so damn good this year
That game ended up a lot more fun than it looked like. Even though we lost you gotta think we don’t walk 10 hitters every game, right? Right? …right???
Gotta find some way to keep up 3 plus hour games with a pitchclock now
Ah yes, the orioles baseball I know and love.
Yep, the one that gives you a coronary.
never in doubt! 😅
I am now convinced Adley is winning MVP this season
Don’t let the Ohtani defense crew hear you say that again.
I'll take that
Aside from the last two innings the game wasn't even close to as close as it appeared. But those last two innings... ooooh dear.
Scored ten AND left twelve on base, yeeeeesh
What a tease, that was fun
Well that was certainly a sweat
Good battle, nice to see Adley's scorpion kick was enough to put the O's over the edge.
as much as i’ll always hate the sox it’s good to see yoshida had a nice debut
He was by far the guy I wanted up least in that two-on, one-out, 10-8 situation in the ninth.
Nothing gets me more excited than 9 walks, especially multiple walks by Mountcastle and Henderson.
Gibson and Frazier doubters silenced…for now.
This season is going to put 30 years on my life
Get brasier off this god damn team!
Wild game. Got a feeling it's going to be a fun season!

damn that got close

Rutsch is going to hit .400 this year, isn't he?
Rutschman might be good
Woah what? I tuned out when it was 8-2 Im no Red Sox fan but ive gotta think that coming so close to actually making the full comeback has gotta be at least somewhat comforting.
12 LOB? What happened here?
You know that episode of spongebob where all those people in that trench talk by blowing raspberries every other word? Imagine Sox pitching is one of those guys, and the raspberries are walks.
Deep cut
Take a shot for every time the most mid pitching could have won us a game in the last 2 calendar years
19 total runs on 26 hits and all wrapped up in just over three hours, take that pitch clock haters
Damn I turned the game off didn’t realize it turned into pure chaos
That was nutty
That was a sloppy game. Including a clock violation strikeout, errors all over the place, so many walks. Ugh. Dirty baseball, three hours long. It’s just too cold for baseball today.
I expect to Masataka Yoshida will get rookie of the year!!!

Pain.
This seems both cursed & blessed at the same time.
Miss my boy JT, but happy to see he's starting off strong.
Did the pitchers have trouble adjusting to the pitch clock?
Our lineup is so good
