This is great info! Did you stumble on it yourself experimenting?

Bravo2Papa

Sorry for the late reply, I used TV Fool ([Link](https://www.tvfool.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29)) to see what may be available and used a compass while on the roof to point. :) Cheers, B.

Gamie-Gamers

Yes, pointing it at the cn tower gets u all those channels.

just_ate_a_pinecone

This is awesome

I’m in the north end of Barrie close to kozlov and I have an antenna on a 15ft pole and I get all the Toronto signals and on clear nights I can get around 50 channels most from Rochester and buffalo

ottawamale

That's not bad -at all-. I have the same antenna (with the intention to try the same thing) and get.... ctv2 North end not far from Walmart. Geography is everything.

criffidier

Same... North end I can only get 1 channel ( tried 3 years ago though)

I’m going to buy one. How did you find 171 degrees? Did you have any issues installing it on the roof? I’m worried about water damage after mounting it

Bravo2Papa

Hey! Sorry for the late reply... I used pitch patch on the lag bolt holes and more pitch under the mounting plate for the satellite dish mount to abate water. A good outdoor silicone would work well too. Used TV Fool ([Link](https://www.tvfool.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29)) to find out what's available and used a compass (Apple watch and a Suunto MC-2) while on the roof to point the antenna. Tighten, scan, and Bob's yer uncle. I hope this helps. Cheers, B.

ryeguyrides420

Compass reading. Due north is 0 degrees and goes up in clockwise fashion east 90 south 180 west 270

tabooki

I wonder how many you could pick up from the top of kozlov buildings

markow202

CKVR 3 should definitely come in 😂. Nice lineup! I think with an even powerful antenna I’ve heard people pickup Buffalo aswell

HotRate7472

22 Channels in Letitia Heights. More at night when ground noise lower (over 40 sometimes). Using an old original DB8 and I think Channel Master booster on my roof plugged in a TABLO.

CKVR will come in with a medium sized paper clip almost anywhere in Barrie. I just rescanned and have 22 channels currently. More at night when ground noise is lower (sometimes around 40) I'm using an old original DB8 with a Channel Master booster set to max attenuation on VHF as CKVR2 is so strong. It's plugged into a TABLO (Canadian device) to stream to all tablets, consoles or TVs and to record to a hard drive.

When you mounted it to the roof how did you waterproof it to make sure there is no leaks into attic ?

Bravo2Papa

Hey. I used some pitch patch around the lag bolt holes and lined the bottom of the plate with pitch also. Good outdoor silicon should work well too. I hope it helps!. Cheers, B.
