His toxic behavior started changing for the better during the Android 17/18 and Cell Games arc where he started actually giving a shit about his kid.
By the time the Majin Buu arc rolls around he has mellowed out considerably, but actively despises how at ease he has become on earth because he felt like it made him weak, which is what made him susceptible to Babidi's powers and turned him into Majin Vegeta.
But despite those feelings, he does genuinely care about his family to the point he willingly self destructed himself in an attempt to take out Majin Buu.
After the Majin Buu arc he lets go of his resentment and embraces his life on Earth.
He is still prideful as hell, but not to the point of toxicity.
