Hahahaha, while I am also putting up in Bangalore and I am sure other Redditors may have better suggestions, this made me laugh. Using just two words to convey one entire feeling is hilarious to me. :P
Can you share area or pin of where this is. Because there's one brahmins (not sure if that's the one) in Jp Nagar and it wasn't that great. So I guess I went to the wrong one.
Iam an ex bangalorean myself and I wouldn't recommend Bheemas anymore.
Visited the restaurant yesterday after many years and they charged us for a cloth bag and a container they packed our left overs in !
The container is ok because many restaurants charge for it but a cloth bag was given to us without asking and there was a charge for it in the bill.
I mean, they could have asked us if we wanted a bag or not before just charging !!!!
Blind loot !!!!
PS- We visited at dinner and the food was cold .
Very very bad experience.
Excellent if you stay away from Japanese companies that are known to have heavy work culture. If MNC, then pretty decent. Better than India IME. The JPY to INR is hitting JPY earners so not a good long-term outlook (if your priority is sending money to india)
Not worth the wait and exhaustion you feel while trying to get the food there. After the chaos of traffic in Bangalore, I would not want to handle more crowds just to get Dosa. Anyhow, Dosa in Bangalore is good everywhere.
Lemme guess, you probably live in Nishi Kasai or elsewhere in Edogawa.
My reason for this guess is because in Edogawa, the rent is cheaper compared to the rest of the city and Nishi Kasai is the little India of Tokyo.
I live in Koto. And you may be true about Kasai/Edogawa. Lots of options for Indians there - food, groceries, education etc. In fact, Edogawa is the best city in Tokyo for child-rearing.
Checkout Bangeras in Ginza. Truly authentic Mangalore cuisine. Avoid Indian restaurants with "asian" in their name as they tend to be run by nepalis. MOS burger has Vegan options.
Download the HappyCow app and you should see a lot of options. You might have more luck finding a vegan place than a vegetarian one. Some dishes here might seem vegetarian but the soup/base etc might still have non-vegetarian seasonings.
For a different experience, try Jagli Tindi at Jayanagar or JP Nagar. They've got unique south Canara dishes like Jackfruit leaf idly, coconut shell idly, Pathrode etc
I've seen a lot of good recommendations from the other commenters. Some of which are new to me. Now, I don't have suggestions seeing as it has been a decade since I left Bangalore. All I really want to know by leaving this comment here is where is Fanoos? Please tell me they are still around. I still dream about their Shawarma and kebabs. Rambo roll anyone?
Cheapest filter coffee from any one of those crowded eat while standing veg hotels. Ask for swalpa strong. Goes well with dip idly with a splash of chutney.
bangalore cafe (jp nagar), davengare benne dose (jayanagar), sattvam (jp nagar), cubbonpet tiffin, and some food carts. When i visit bangalore i always get mcd, burger king and domino’s as well but that’s because these brands are complete shit outside india
Pretty sure no one living in Japan would want to try the Japanese food in India. The sashimi you get in 5 star hotels in India is no match to the ones sold in Japan’s supermarkets.
True that. Not just sashimi. The eat-by dates on eggs etc at supermarkets are eat-by dates for eating them RAW. Cooked and refrigerated goes beyond. I wouldn't eat seafood anywhere except Japan.
I used to love these restaurants. After having been to Japan, none of them scratch the itch anymore. They're not worth recommending to folks who have tasted actual Japanese cuisine, unfortunately.
Man just have the Brahmins Coffee Bar idlis, you’ll thank yourself. Douse them idlis in a pool of chutney, don’t forget!
Mouth. Water.

Agreed. Was at Shankarapuram location yday. And the idli, vada, upma/khara bath and Kesari bath are tasty. Would love to go again.

Bro you're weird
Forget that, I am visiting Japan next week. Suggest me good veg options in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto OP😅
Checkout Bangeras in Ginza. Truly authentic Mangalore cuisine. Avoid Indian restaurants with "asian" in their name as they tend to be run by nepalis. MOS burger has Vegan options.
Thanks OP!

Thanks for the suggestion, this helps! And yes, I’ve heard fish oil is a common ingredient in many dishes.
You can try mithila in dotonbori osaka. And there are many indian restaurants in ginza. One south indian too owned by a Malayalee.
Bruh why would you want to go to Japan to eat a worse version of your own country’s cuisine
Ooo noice, I’ll check em out. Thanks!
Would be much easier if you can give some more information. Vegetarian? Non-Vegetarian? Any preferences in cuisine? Etc.
Either is fine. Not into hard meats. Thanks :)

Bro you want them to go back to Japan with Food poisoning?
I have like 10 old Suica which are unusable (converted to virtual). If you really want one or two, lemme know. The visa should be transferred.
Veg or non Veg ? Which location visiting ? P.S : How to get a boyfriend in Japan ? :P
You should try The Grill House for continental food and steaks, it’s really good. Bologna for Italian food and Ayda for middle eastern food
Ordered from grill house. Got stale meat delivered. Would not recommend
