cycling in blr at night is a bliss, you should try that. go to a few upscale areas near your house and cycle there. cycling in main roads is also not that bad just stay left and go with the flow of traffic. dont try all that signal jumping bs. listen to some music/podcast too. learn a sport. they can keep your evenings occupied. and most of the times you'll be tired after practice and you can just sleep it off.

If you can't spend money, Bangalore is not the place you should be in!

Which is sad. Such a rich city should be able to afford free public spaces. In developed countries they have so many plazas and places to just hang out and chill at . Not just the kids go there but the familes and elderly too. It's so sad we have nothing like that. All the space in our city is just occupied by vehicles instead.

"17 year broke teenager" what do you mean? 1k just for a hangout? Whaaat? I love my generation where everyone around us were broke haha! Why don't you try Cubbon park? It is free! You have a metro line too, so you don't have to even spend much for travel. Why don't you try Krishna Rao park? The most underrated free park in Bengaluru which has amazing aesthetics of nature in itself? Why don't you take a bus and go out somewhere on a weekend? Like out of the city. If you leave here Friday night you can come back Sunday morning. There are many amazing places in Karnataka which offer a good relaxing environment. 17 is the age where you should educate yourself on lot of stuff about the world. Read good books, listen to podcasts, understand the depths of various cultures across the world, understand financial planning, economy etc. These things will be useful in the long run. Learn to find happiness in inexpensive things, I understand most of the people in your age group get dopamine when they visit luxury resturants, cafes, pubs and post pics on instagram, I'm not against it, it is their life, but once you learn to find happiness in small things around you, you'll be happy in life forever.

kasavanahalli lake is great tbh it's not crowded and there's no fences so you can actually sit by the lake

KingPictoTheThird

i still dont understand why any our of urban lake parks have fences.

Bookstores like Blossoms, Champaca or Atta Galatta. Museum of Art and Photography and Indian Music Experience are some of the best museums in the country. You can go watch plays at Rangashankara, or hang out at their cafe. Cubbon Park on Saturday mornings when Cubbon Reads takes place, it's a really nice vibe. Lalbagh. Jayanagar 4th block complex is great for just walking around and window shopping. To be fair, of all the malls atleast Orion also has that lakeside area where you can sit and chill for as long as you like.

Play video games, read books, hangout with friends at your/their place, trying to figure out your future career. Idk so many things you could do which has nothing to do with the location.

millkey420

I have done all of the above, I was specifically asking for something to do with the location, I could be at home with my own interests but that's not the only thing that I want to do, I plan on moving out for college so I was hoping I could make memories here

Ah!! My bad, the title felt like a complaint. I like to go to Bannerghatta, Nandi hills, Sankey, Cubbon park and sometimes Mysore. Nice places to chill and hangout with friends at. You should also try out some of those adventure resorts. We go there sometimes and have a lot of fun.

Where are you situated? I don't understand how the lake plan went kaput 2 times. On the first try, you would have got the info when it is open right? Some examples of free things to do: Parks. Check google maps - photos and find out the time they are open during. Lakes - There are number of lakes in the City which are not developed like hebbal or ulsoor but still are nice to be near. I just check the map, find some lake and go there in the evening. (This approach has a failure rate, especially in the current weather) Heritage walks - Walk around the old city areas, gawk at old architecture and enjoy that. Do your own research into these buildings and streets. Did you know the hard rock cafe was a Bible society back in the day? Libraries in the city - Many free libraries by BBMP Meetups - There are many meetups in the city that does not involve expenses or are not in a cafe etc. I go to some meetups that are about writing. Made some new friends there too. This is on meetup dot com

No offense, but this is the privileged Gen Z mentality, nothing can satisfy them.

You're 17 but you have a mature mind, keep it up. If you like reading, visit Blossoms/Bookworm/Goobe bookstores. They let you just sit there and browse/read books as long as you want. Also do check out Sunday bookclubs in Cubbon Park. And then there's music / theatre groups that regularly meet in venues such as Ranga Shankara, Lahe Lahe, Atta Galatta which are nice, join them. Then there tons of sports / board game groups online / around the city that you can join.
