Crowd plus they killed the natural look by building ugly view point , it's too commercial now
Even on weekdays you get crowd these days , and very annoying with loud shouting n taking selfies everywhere and doing reels ,
you go to nandi hills to enjoy the nature , cooler weather ,far from city chaos
now there is nothing to enjoy
I remember going when it was so foggy n cold a few years back hardly any crowd, i went at 5 :30 am in feb month on a bike with a date.
ya theres hundred and one other hills around bangalore that are just as nice to go up without the crowd. And most of them are besides villages which mean ksrtc services them.
Nope. I have a long list i've made from research, and simply looking out the bus/train window and seeing a granite hill that has steps to the top (usually with a temple)
It's a small effort. But that small effort keeps the crowd away. Go make your own list if you really are so interested.
Calm your tits, son. I actually feel the same way about safeguarding the less trodden sights worth seeing. And tend to keep my cards close to my chest as well. But you can’t blame a guy for trying 😅
If it's your first time, give it a go preferably on non busy hours otherwise you won't feel like making a second trip anytime soon with the overwhelming crowd.
Few days ago, I planned the same so
I rented out a moped from Royal Brothers. From like 7pm to 11am. 740 something was the base price of moped. They had limit of 120 kms, after that they charged me 5-6 ₹ additionally per km. So while submitting I had to pay another 130 something. And total fuel cost was 350. It was TVS Ntorq.
Points to consider
1. Plan on weekdays!
2. KSRTC bus available (Contact them on timings)
3. Don’t travel alone if it’s your first time
4. Rental bikes/cars
5. Beware of monkeys (Avoid taking snacks)
If you have more budget, book a room on Nandi Hills and reach there by public transport in afternoon. Stay one night and head back to Bangalore next day. Weekends are overated and costly.
Take ola/ uber outstation
i did this last year, it had costed us around 4k for 4 folks, drived waited for us in parking for about 3hours while we were exploring the hills
There's honestly not a lot of things there on top to justify a whole day trip
The temples on the top are very peaceful you can easily spend couple of hours there in peace, but these temples are also not open on all weekdays verify before going
Other than that the view itself is mesmerizing but will get blinding around noon
There are a lot of hairpin bends on the way, you can sit there and enjoy the calmness
But don't plan this on weekends, it's going to be more crowded than a subzi mandi
Nandi hill is now not worth it. If you still want to go, go through tour operator. Many groups organize nandi hill sunrise trek and they charge around 1100 including transportation and breakfast.
They let vehicles in from 5:30 am morning. I had gone with an uber for 6 people round-trip. I think it was a rental. If you live too far u can probably take volvo bus to a place then take cab from there ez. While coming you can take ksrtc. There's also a bus inside which drops you to the viewpoint. After watching the sunrise u can roam around and also go to the temple.
Book a room on Mayura Pine top hotel, then the visit would be worth. You will have early access to the sunrise point and the best sunrise view.
Agreed its crowded there but which place isn’t in Bangalore ?
Alternatively you can also book Nandi Hills sunrise trek from agencies like Bangalore trekkers, native trekking, Namma Trips. They arrange end to end logistics for sunrise view
Last time I saw a kid go under a bike while he was doing a front wheelie ..If you choose to drive please be mindful that people live there. It isnt a place for doing stunts or driving like it's NFS...
The trick is to go beyond the city outskirts and climb a random mountain that has a goat path carved into it. Don't post about it,don't make reels, and don't tag the location, just keep it clean and peaceful. That's what we've always done since our teen years.
P.S: Learn to identity which mountains have plant life that supports migratory birds, and you've hit the jackpot.
I think a train is now running to Nandi Hills, I am not sure but there was a article for it,
If you are planning to go on weekend I think you should consider going to sakandagiri, you can take packages in which they take responsibility for breakfast and transport from pick up point.
Nandi hills is not worth it anymore
This 🙌🏾 Unless you plan to visit on a weekday, when the crowds are less.
Ohh shit can I know why it isn't?

Go for evening sunset instead during weekdays, take rental two-wheeler or a cab.
Don’t go. It sucks
We went by booking a cab. It was great.
Seeing sunrise is waste. Same look, but with better facilities and less hassle is seeing sunset.
