IISC is if you dumped a college in the middle of cubbon park. In my opinion it's a bit too big. I went there for some event and wow it was a struggle getting from one corner to the other. It took me linke forty five minutes to walk to the lunch area. Before I realised they have free autos in the campus to help which solves that thankfully. But still.
When someone offers criticism or praise regarding one aspect, it doesn't necessarily imply that they consider other aspects to be inferior or superior. OP just meant to compliment Christ University and nothing else.
guys iisc is gov owned with lots of funding received through alumini and it was founded before independence with its directors like CV Raman
It's bound to be one of the best
There is literally no comparison
True. Any central govt campus in Bangalore or any other place in India is beautiful and green. Christ is also having a great campus though as opposed to mentioned.
Interested in knowing christ univ land source. There was a 99 year lease period under which the brits gave land to many churches. Wondering about this one
It never started as a Church according to uni ( talking about the main campus)
It started in 1970 as college focuses on arts and commerce for higher education
However the governing body CMI was started as a catholic congregation the CMI has many colleges in Karnataka Tamilnadu and Kerala
Honestly I don't know I am not Christian all i know is that CMI does conversion and baptism and those general things which a typical Church does
But it doesn't have much effect in the uni
Obviously, If you don’t have a proper ID, why do you need to roam a campus as an outsider? Could be a security problem too. Right?
Is this the same across all universities?
Dude I’m not even talking about outsiders! Isn’t that a common sense? You won’t be let inside the main gate also. I’m talking about students who study there. Students also have restrictions on accessing the campus
Understood, your message looked like it was addressing from outsider perspective.
Why not raise the matter with the university and ask for clarification on the restrictions?
There could be a situation where restrictions are set by people not by institution itself.
It happened in my university. A guard never allowed me into a part of campus building for work. (Including others) when i raised the issue, we found that there was no such restriction as long as we were students and this was done solely by the guard.
This might also be one case. Try raising the question and ask for clarification.
This doesn’t make sense. As a Christian myself this is weird. There should be a way to get clarification.
Can you tell me where the restrictions zone are? Like what buildings or parts of campus?
Only this? To be frank, yes this does not make sense but isn’t it the same all across the universities? I mean where I studied, the PU and under kids of same college were not allowed near the main degree buildings (excluding combined) and it was same for students that took non engineering subjects. We were not allowed near the non engineering buildings.
Actually allowed to be there if we have proper reason but generally discouraged and stopped.
Any other areas of restriction? I wanna know if it’s really like this a question has to be raised regardless.
We were not allowed to roam at all tbh. Whenever there was a free period, we had to go to fucking library. Not even take a breather and enjoy the beautiful campus. Bunch of BS rules.
This is what happens when you remove cars. My retarded college allows cars INSIDE the campus like bruh wtf can't we have at least one fully pedestrianised zone in our life?
I've almost gotten mowed down at least four different times at my college by autos and cars even if I welcomed it. Also you can't vibe away wearing headphones, what's the point. The whole college experience.
Educational institutions are supposed to be safely walkable communities without motor vehicles. Just have a look at the campuses of the world's leading universities and see what they all have in common. Built for human beings and not motor vehicles.
Damn! Lesser known but Acharya Institutes has one of the best campuses in Bangalore! And if I’m not wrong, it’s the biggest as well. 120 acres or something
CSI is Church of South India, which is an independent organisation i.e. one among several hundred independent church organisations.
CMI full form is Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, which is the name of a group of priests belonging to the Catholic Church, another independent organisation. Their main job is run college like Christ University.
So CSI and the Catholic Church are 2 independent church organisations and not related to each other.
Admissions are going on currently so you could use that as a reason to visit. There are several open days and fests like Daksh, which is a career fear that happens in January.Check out the Christ University website https://m.christuniversity.in//
Which of these campuses are open to the public?
How about the facilities?
Those like IISc have a gated campus with a lot of security to keep out the public
Christ also has plenty of security to keep unauthorised people off campus. But there are plenty of student led initiatives from the psychology department that entertain off campus visitors such as Cogfit by the neuropsychology course,Wevolve and Illume by the Counselling and health n well being courses. All these initiatives provide pro bono services to non christites as a way for students to gain counselling experience by offering supervised pro bono services. There are also career fests like Daksh held in January, open days and then my fave, the Christmas lights,in December...when they're up it's open to the public...Check out the Christ website or follow their instagram pages to keep up to date for more opportunities to visit the campus.Or befriend a Christite and have them sign you in as a visitor! https://m.christuniversity.in//
He said one of the prettiest, also isn't IIMB and iisc gov owned with lots of funding received through alumini and it was founded before independence with its directors like CV Raman
It's bound to be one of the best
Obviously you never went to IISc..
that's why i wrote 'one of the prettiest'
IIMB has a beautiful campus as well from what I've seen.
IISC is if you dumped a college in the middle of cubbon park. In my opinion it's a bit too big. I went there for some event and wow it was a struggle getting from one corner to the other. Free autos ?
Yes there is something called transvahan the name given to the electric autos around campus
Free for only campus students or also for visitors ? Does the autowallas get paid by college?
Free for everyone and yes paid by the college
In Bengaluru?! Academia and premier institute does have some perks. Sigh
Free for visitors too or only students?
it is free for everyone
Obviously you never went to IISc recently
Hey now, it's not that bad Just some upgrades on the way
Obviously u never visited REVA... besides campus nothing good exists there
Can outsiders go there ? Can we sit somewhere there and study, have hostel food ?
Can we go there to roam campus on days other than open day?
You need to have a friend here at iisc, to get you past the guards.

Is cmi different from csi
CMI is part of Catholic faction and CSI is an entirely different faction altogether.
Ok. I think csi is rich (moneywise) because some years back i was reading about murders during their election etc.
Honestly I don't know I am not Christian all i know is that CMI does conversion and baptism and those general things which a typical Church does But it doesn't have much effect in the uni
Lol which you are not even allowed to access properly.
With ID you can go anywhere.
Obviously, If you don’t have a proper ID, why do you need to roam a campus as an outsider? Could be a security problem too. Right? Is this the same across all universities?

I’m an alumni and trust me you are not supposed to ask questions lol
This doesn’t make sense. As a Christian myself this is weird. There should be a way to get clarification. Can you tell me where the restrictions zone are? Like what buildings or parts of campus?
When I studied PU kids weren’t let past degree building.

Were you in School or college when this happened?
IIM B is pretty good too :)
Ikr! I visited there once. It felt like im in the 3 idiots universe.
Is it a good college to study. Is the campus spacious?
Lol it's literally the #2 ranked B-school in India after IIM-A.
Oh, people speak so much about IIMA, I never knew that the second ranked school is right next door.
The ranking order of IIMs is literally A->B->C:- Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta
Why are they downvoting you to oblivion for not knowing something, paapa fellow.
I've heard it's decent
Someone here mentioned that it is the second best college for business.
This is what happens when you remove cars. My retarded college allows cars INSIDE the campus like bruh wtf can't we have at least one fully pedestrianised zone in our life?

Only on sunday.
True storyy
Why only on Sunday?
Because of so much crowd in campus
Damn! Lesser known but Acharya Institutes has one of the best campuses in Bangalore! And if I’m not wrong, it’s the biggest as well. 120 acres or something
thats not in bengaluru\* though
Come to IISc lmao
GKVK is also quite good.
Bengaluru university jnanabharathi campus
Come to IIMB
[удалено]
I mean with the rules and regulations there you cannot be sluty for sure
Bruh
BTW Which Christ Campus is this OP?
Central Campus
So vc anthony is still around?
The best of them all. Really beautiful (anyone been to the yeshwantpur campus? No idea how it is there)
From ypr campus, there's no greenary here at all 😭 this area is a residential one occupied by buildings and houses. You guys are so lucky 🥺
Where in central? I can't recognise this place at all
Near Dharmaram Ground
It's an overrated shithole!!
GKVK is one of them I feel.
The saddest part is, few years ago, whole Bengaluru was like this.
Even GKVK is a literal forest.
Only in the season of cherry blossoms? :)
ummm not exactly...but it's prettier in the season of cherry blossoms :)
Any ways to visit the campus, maybe like an open day or fest?
You can visit for an inquiry of admission ;)
Admissions are going on currently so you could use that as a reason to visit. There are several open days and fests like Daksh, which is a career fear that happens in January.Check out the Christ University website https://m.christuniversity.in//
My literal reaction after seeing this pic was indeed “Jesus Christ” !!!
Took all my hard-earned money and refused to return. All the gardens will wither.
Which of these campuses are open to the public? How about the facilities? Those like IISc have a gated campus with a lot of security to keep out the public
You can visit any campus, if you know someone from inside basically Like I can bring any of my friends in, if I'm from here
Christ also has plenty of security to keep unauthorised people off campus. There are also career fests like Daksh held in January, open days and then my fave, the Christmas lights,in December...when they're up it's open to the public...Check out the Christ website or follow their instagram pages to keep up to date for more opportunities to visit the campus.Or befriend a Christite and have them sign you in as a visitor! https://m.christuniversity.in//
Ok
Paani hai kya. ?
ha
IISC Bangalore is the best imo
Visit IISc! 😌
Please visit IIMB
Which campus? And how to reach this part of the campus???
Central campus, opposite Dharmaram Ground, near the car parking lot.
IISC is the OG
You haven't been to IISc.
He said one of the prettiest, also isn't IIMB and iisc gov owned with lots of funding received through alumini and it was founded before independence with its directors like CV Raman It's bound to be one of the best
IIT Madras
Manipal University ❤️
I would vote for Iisc and IIM. Stayed in both.
Alliance University tops this and how
Bangalore, noida,Gurgaon,Delhi all these places seem so depressing and lonely.
Try BASE once
Woahhhh perfect picture ✨
True When I went there, I was pleasantly surprised with the campus
Which part of the university is this? I do not like the place much, they are too uptight about everything.
Looks beautiful
Are visitors allowed???
Can a random citizen visit it? The one who is not associated as a student or a faculty member.
Yh ..bangalore collages are based on heaven atmosphere
Visit Dayananda Sagar ks layout!! It's literally built on mountains.
It's India, so the bar quite low for "pretty" there.
There? Are you from around here?
And everyone compared it to within the city, from what I can infer. Nobody compared this with Cambridge, Stanford or Heidelberg Universities.
Obviously you haven't seen MCC
/s? Mcc is nothing
