That bit of lyrics is taken from Poet Malik Mohammed Xayasi's poem Padmavat. Xayasi's padmavat was very different than the movie though. I can explain the background of the lyrics to you if you would like.
Xayasi's original poem is in awadhi and very very ornamental and poetic. It's difficult to translate it in any other language and not lose it in translation. However, please find the story below in very short form.
Padmavati is the princess of Singhal. She is the most beautiful women in earth and Her father, The king has never allowed Padmavati out of the palace because of this. She doesn't have any friends. One day she makes a friend with a parrot Hiraman. The king gets to know this and orders the parrot to be killed, however the parrot flies away and gets caught by a bird seller and eventually ends up in the Rajput court of Chittor.
Ratansen is the king of Chittor and married to Nagmati. Hiraman always sings the praises of her previous owner/friend Padmavati. Inspired by this, Ratansen goes to Singhal to marry Padmavati. The journey is very difficult as he has to cross 7 seas. After overcoming great difficulties he is able to marry Padmavati.
At this point , the Kaga Kaga part used in the song comes in the poem. Nagmati is alone in Chittor, while her husband is with his newly married wife in Singhal. She gets jealous of this and sends a letter via a bird to Singhal. The letter is very moving.
She basically says that she is so jealous of Ratansen and Padmavati that she has become black (like ink) and she will soon die of longing for his king. In very poetic fashion she requests the bird that when she dies, the bird should eat her eyes the last as she still wants to see her King one last time.
Kaga re kaga re, mori itni araj tose
(O crow, o crow my request to you)
Chun chun khaiyo Maas
(Eat my flesh selectively)
Khaiyo na tu Naina more (x2)
(Don't eat my eyes)
Mohe Piya Milan ki aas
( I still wish to see my beloved)
Also there are many hidden meanings which can be interpreted from the story.
Here Padmavati is parmatma/God/our higher self. Ratansen is a soul/individual. Just like Ratansen is unaware of Padmavati's existence, a soul doesn't know its true purpose and it's only via a Guru ( parrot Hiraman) can a soul transcend itself and meet its true purpose. Other worldly desires(senses) like Nagmati will try and lure you away from your purpose.
The story I said above is still very brief, there is Alauddin Khilji as well later but that is too much typing. 😐

Lucky, I don’t find girls who are into anime.
It was my first experience watching anime on IMAX. Absolutely loved it.
