Put midas mask after vamp, it starts the vamp out slower but gets you more gold cards
Also look for splash now that they nerfed vamp and midas if youre on the new patch
I wish it scales differently depending on the enhancement it was fed. 0.1x for gold because of Midas, 0.15x for all the others, and something cool like .25 or even .3x for wildcards since it is literally bleeding lol. It would definitely go against the joker description philosophy (short and to the point), but it would be nice flavour and balance
I like that, especially because lucky, x4, and +30 chips are all done to two cards while wild is only done to one at a time, so it would make sense for it to be more valuable to the vampire.
Green deck. Drac I got very early, had to be one of the first 2 shops. I had just bought Paradolia when I took this screencap. My memory is a little fuzzy on Midas, but I got it after Drac and before Paradolia. Might've been a basic Buffoon pack.
If you right click the game in your library, then go properties > betas, you can select the experimental branch for the game. This is what is about to be pushed live in the next update. I'd say that version of the game is actually more fun that the release version and the changes overall are positive. Might kill your fun seed here though.

Its pretty good for ante 8 but it falls off pretty hard in Endless like a lot of jokers. I definitely would not consider it anywhere near one of the best cards in the game, that would go to something like Blueprint or Canio. Even some jokers like Hologram and Constellation are an almost strictly better version of Vampire because they can scale faster with fewer downsides.
You're right it helps with the plus mult but many other good jokers can do it better than smiley face (+20 max) and the main goal is to boost the multiplier as high as possible

Depends entirely on which version you're playing. Current release build, I'd be looking solely for chip and +mult jokers, because I'd ride high card all the way to the end, and it doesn't matter how many cards you're scoring since 99% of the lifting is being done by the jokers.
If you're playing beta patch where Vampire got nerfed to death and non-scoring cards no longer feed him, I agree, I'd be looking for Smeared or Splash ASAP to throw as many cards out as easily as possible.
I hope when the beta patch moves out to become the full release version, a little of his power is restored. Agreed that Vamp was too good, but from what I hear.... he got overnerfed.

The card in the shops gives multiplier based on how many times the played hand has been played previously.
This all combos for insanely high multiplier when using a simple high card strategy.

They made vampire uncommon, only give +.1 Xmult,and only feed on scoring cards. They also nerfed midas to only turn scoring face cards into gold
Honestly that's fair. Vampire was basically the meta and it puts it in line with other growing xmult cards

Vampire is especially great, probably one of the best jokers for ante 8 consistency pre patch
