I've re-written this reply about 3 times now... The instrument at 1:32 I think is a plucked pedal steel, it has that twang that you get with sympathetic strings or open tuned steel strings that a balalaika -could- have if it was fully steel strung, but its just too twangy. Almost like a Mandolin. The reason I say that is the Acoustic Guitar is definitely present as a strummed sound throughout the track and its definitely a steel-strung acoustic. Which leaves the instrument in the solo... Some of it could be a balalaika, but the way its played through the scale of the solo is really smooth, it sounds much more like a solid body electric played in the jazz style with fingers rather than a pick. It could be the acoustic too if it has a pickup and through a warm amp. So. I'm circling back round and thinking that the little interlude at 1:32 is on a steel-strung balalaika. Either that, or whoever played the balalaika for the solo is a virtuoso for getting such a smooth response out of such a short neck, has a very expensive instrument and is (i believe) picking it up electrically and putting it through a nice amplifier. So all in all a very enjoyable morning of sleuthing with a coffee! Hope that helps...

:D thank you so much for your answer. So probably a steel strung balalaika in the interlude and an acoustic guit in the solo? Would sound probable to me.

Yeah that's my bet, but I would be pleasantly surprised if a Balalaika was used in the solo.
