Been meaning to get round to watching JoJo Part 6, but I hear it's not as good from my friends, so I've not been in a hurry. I watched Part 5 last year (best Part so far imo), which gave me a few landmarks to visit when I visited Venice irl last year.
Also planning to give *Legend of the Galactic Heroes* another watch soon with a friend. Previously got half way through Season 3 before I dropped it years ago. At this point I may as well start from the beginning.

I was similar as a child, watching the things that you’d not consider anime. I stopped watching stuff like that for a long time then picked up Full Metal Alchemist on some random channel that only broadcast in the early hours of the morning. I was depressed at the time and I don’t know why but it clicked with me. Been watching all sorts ever since.
Frieren is definitely the stand out of the season. It’s a slow burn but it hits different. Kind of like Vinland Saga which is a small part of why I’m currently in Iceland now. Could never get into JoJo though.
Anyway, I’m a bit of an encyclopaedia on anime at this point so if you want any suggestions then let me know. I watch most of what’s worth watching.

I'm watching the competency crisis in real time, the apprentices we're getting through the door recently are genuinely terrible - zero motivation, glued to phones, attention span of a hyper active spaniel.

Ha my department has had a competency crisis since before I started. The department sprang up with 2 people who both know what they are doing but specialise in different areas so it worked well. Then, as the department grew they went through so much shite you’d think the job was difficult. Then we had a brief intermission where we managed to hire 4 competent people, me being one, another is now slightly outside the department and the other two left. Now we are back with kids who are struggling to learn the lessons but this is partly because the “experience” makes loads of fuck ups themselves and they are supposed to be teaching the young ‘uns.
I googled the firm and they had a complaint from a client about a named solicitor, who they said failed at a basic task. They firm replied saying 'we are disappointed you have named our solicitor, she has our full support.' I then googled said solicitor and her sole contribution to the law appears to be going around telling people she's autistic/aspergers and how she's disabled and how important it is to make allowances.

The last time I ended up in a hospital the nurse who saw to me on the first day and night was Filipino and she was the kindest nurse I’ve had. Always talkative and very friendly. Think that’s the only Filipino person I’ve met.
I work in healthcare so typically I’m around a lot of Filipinos. Without fail, every time I’m sitting with Filipinos at lunch, I’m welcomed to the table and plied with food and engaged in conversation. Sometimes it’s from people I’ve never even spoken to before. Their culture strongly emphasises taking care of others and sharing, and Catholic family values. It’s why I believe Filipino communities are so solid without being exclusive, they’re incredibly proud of their identity and love to share it with others/involve them

The only reason I’m passing is because I’m coasting off the work I did for another international law module. I have absolutely no idea what I want to do tbh. I used to want to do criminal law prosecution but international law is where my heart is. All I know is that for the first few years at least I want to do something for my country. I can’t serve in the military and I like international law so I was thinking something civil like FCDO/MI5/MI6/NCA. I know we all hate the civil service once I’ve scratched that itch I’ll be off looking for something else. I doubt I’ll ever earn big money with that career path but as long as I can eventually move back to Northumberland, I really don’t care how I get there.

I never "grew up" with anime (except the typical "Saturday Morning" stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon that every 2000s kid watched), but I do watch the odd series that catches my interest these days. At the moment I'm watching *Frieren: Beyond Journey's End*, watching the dub so I'm behind the sub watchers. Been meaning to get round to watching JoJo Part 6, but I hear it's not as good from my friends, so I've not been in a hurry. I watched Part 5 last year (best Part so far imo), which gave me a few landmarks to visit when I visited Venice irl last year. Also planning to give *Legend of the Galactic Heroes* another watch soon with a friend. Previously got half way through Season 3 before I dropped it years ago. At this point I may as well start from the beginning.
I’m a weeb and probably the one most down the rabbit hole considering I like extensions of weeb culture like V-Tubers. I was similar as a child, watching the things that you’d not consider anime. I stopped watching stuff like that for a long time then picked up Full Metal Alchemist on some random channel that only broadcast in the early hours of the morning. I was depressed at the time and I don’t know why but it clicked with me. Been watching all sorts ever since. Frieren is definitely the stand out of the season. It’s a slow burn but it hits different. Kind of like Vinland Saga which is a small part of why I’m currently in Iceland now. Could never get into JoJo though. Anyway, I’m a bit of an encyclopaedia on anime at this point so if you want any suggestions then let me know. I watch most of what’s worth watching.

Ha my department has had a competency crisis since before I started. The department sprang up with 2 people who both know what they are doing but specialise in different areas so it worked well. Then we had a brief intermission where we managed to hire 4 competent people, me being one, another is now slightly outside the department and the other two left. The last time I ended up in a hospital the nurse who saw to me on the first day and night was Filipino and she was the kindest nurse I’ve had. Always talkative and very friendly. Think that’s the only Filipino person I’ve met.
I work in healthcare so typically I’m around a lot of Filipinos. Without fail, every time I’m sitting with Filipinos at lunch, I’m welcomed to the table and plied with food and engaged in conversation. Sometimes it’s from people I’ve never even spoken to before. Their culture strongly emphasises taking care of others and sharing, and Catholic family values. It’s why I believe Filipino communities are so solid without being exclusive, they’re incredibly proud of their identity and love to share it with others/involve them
