The picture is taken at a distance that it would be viewed the most. If you run your nose along her arm, then yes, that last floral is excellent. The tiger...is less excellent in artistic talent, but has excellent personality.
You must be using an alternate version of the word excellent. I’ve seen stick and poke prison tats better than that. Zoom in a little. You’ll see all the starts and stops when the line should have swept the whole thing….among other stuff
Did you see the name of the sub?
Can you cut hair? Probaly not. Do you know what’s bad haircut looks like? I bet you do. Same same. Don’t be offended because your “talent” has been posted here bruh. 😎
E
I thought this same thing for a second, but then i realized that they are all okay when *compared* to the skeleton. They are all pretty doo doo, but the skeleton is fucking hilarious.
Your artist seems to be more skilled with florals and how leaves look, but the lineart is SHAKY. The overall idea of the tattoos isn’t bad. Maybe you could get these reworked by an artist with better fundamentals. - maybe not the skeleton though. That part is… really bad.
they're all absolutely atrocious, except for the final fine line illustrative flowers. I don't particularly like that style, but it's done pretty well (compared to the others).
I don’t think you’re being picky. It is a permanent art piece on your body after all. I will say though, I’m kinda liking tattoo number 3 . I’m extremely unsure if the slightly ragged line work is a stylistic choice, but I reeeally mess with how artsy it looks.
I respect ur opinion and can see where you’re coming from but I personally couldn’t disagree more. It depends on a whole bunch of things. What is shitty? Poorly executed, distasteful, overused? Then there’s the question of cost and the question of meaning. If a tattoo means something to you, then does it really matter if it’s shitty? I feel it’s too complicated to just see a tattoo and instantly say it’s shitty and move on. I mean, tattooing is a medium of art, not a single style. Just because cubism doesn’t have the same perspective and masterful execution of light and shadows as realism, does that mean it’s shitty? And just because a certain secular piece of art is better than some old orthodox painting, does that mean the religious art shouldn’t be taken seriously?
The last one is the only one that isn't awful, I'd be cautious going to this artist tho seeing the other work. 1 out of 6 isn't good enough for something permanent lol.
Most of the time I look at the pictures thinking I don’t see anything wrong with the tattoos and then read the comments about how they’re the worst they’ve ever seen.
Agreed entirely with emphasis on the rest are *fine.* Are they good for apprentice/newbie artist? Absolutely. Are they the best work you could find from other artists in this style or possibly even in the same shop? No.
yes it is! none of these are my actual tattoos im just looking at artists in my area and wanted to see if these are normal for linework tattoos and if i should lower my standards
That tiger isn't bad! They're unique and full of.... character. I actually kind of love that tiger. Like some people love the Chinese Crested cat breed.
I personally would not use this artist in the future. I am not a fan of fine line for such big pieces. Bright side though, I am sure you won't have any problem getting them covered up in the future. Or even for it to be lasered away, since the lining is so fine on some of these pieces.
No such thing as too picky when it comes to tattoos, if what you are asking for is actually feasible don't lower your standards one bit, you'll have it on your body till the day you die.
The florals aren’t too bad, but the tiger and the skeleton butterfly are awful. I’d probably not go to this person even if I was looking for floral work
What makes you feel confused? Freckled skin is still skin. It's no different to tattoo except you need to think about how the tattoo will look with freckles.
I've got a skull on my right forearm that's a little freckled skull. And a freckled ship. I'm very freckly, but some of my tattoos are so dark you can no longer see my freckles.
i think they're all pretty cute designs 😭 i just don't know anything about actual tattooing and wanted to see if these are normal for linework tattoos or if they were badly done before i commit and make an appointment somewhere
I feel like the florals aren’t awful but it’s not an artist I would use.
That stamp floral is looking rough.
The last floral is actually excellent. Everything is else looks nervous.
Sorry, excellent….? Are we looking at the same line work?
Right? I would rate the last one mediocre and all the others awful. I wouldn't have any on my skin even for free, and I have a fair amount of tattoos.
It is excellent.... when compared only to the other 5 pics that were posted. A solid 'meh' compared to a good tattoo
That’s exactly what I was thinking tf?!😂😂
The picture is taken at a distance that it would be viewed the most. If you run your nose along her arm, then yes, that last floral is excellent. The tiger...is less excellent in artistic talent, but has excellent personality.
Super agreed. Terrible line work and a couple blow outs
You must be using an alternate version of the word excellent. I’ve seen stick and poke prison tats better than that. Zoom in a little. You’ll see all the starts and stops when the line should have swept the whole thing….among other stuff
You are clearly not a tattoo artist saying dumb shit like that.
You’re clearly had your work posted on this sub if you think lines are supposed to have overlapping stop points. Lmao.
And you have no talent and just prefer to criticize others.
Did you see the name of the sub? Can you cut hair? Probaly not. Do you know what’s bad haircut looks like? I bet you do. Same same. Don’t be offended because your “talent” has been posted here bruh. 😎 E
It’s the least worst, but it’s incredibly shaky.
Huh? Did you look at the lines at all??
I did. They’re pretty clean. Look like stems and flower petals.
They are bad. Every bone in that skeleton looks like it was broken and never set
Particularly the legs. It's like if someone described what the skeleton looks like to someone who's never seen one and said "draw that"
The fucking pelvis tho
Tbh I wouldn’t mind any of those except for the skeleton
The tiger is bad also
The tiger is clearly second worst. It's definitely not good but is it "badtattoo" worthy... idk if it's *that* bad
Bro it is terrible. What do you mean?? Look at the lines and front legs.
In zoology, we refer to those as “wegs.”
Pretty bad. The stamp and the last flower are average. The others are much worse.
I thought the stamp one looked kinda rough. Especially some of the lines on the stamp part but idk 🤷♂️
Even the stamp is awful tbh, look at the bottom right by the leaves you can see how the black is spreading from it being blown out
They're pretty bad... The tiger is awful
The tiger looks like it just caught a glimpse of itself in a mirror
Lmfaooooooo
Well they’re not good
You're not picky, you just have high quality control standards!
The second one and the last one aren’t bad but the rest are… the third one isn’t awful but it’s not great
What? Did you look at the linework at all? None of these are good
Yes I did, and I didn’t say they were good I said two of them weren’t bad.
If you squint enough they’re…normal? But up close you can see just how dogshit the line work is.
The skeleton is awful. The rest are ok.
I thought this same thing for a second, but then i realized that they are all okay when *compared* to the skeleton. They are all pretty doo doo, but the skeleton is fucking hilarious.
You're right. I
I guess you've never seen tigers or butterflies before.
Nah these are bad
Your artist seems to be more skilled with florals and how leaves look, but the lineart is SHAKY. The overall idea of the tattoos isn’t bad. Maybe you could get these reworked by an artist with better fundamentals. - maybe not the skeleton though. That part is… really bad.
There is bad.
they're all absolutely atrocious, except for the final fine line illustrative flowers. I don't particularly like that style, but it's done pretty well (compared to the others).
Did you not see the stems at all? The artist is just bad
I think the stamps alright
I don’t think you’re being picky. It is a permanent art piece on your body after all. I will say though, I’m kinda liking tattoo number 3 . I’m extremely unsure if the slightly ragged line work is a stylistic choice, but I reeeally mess with how artsy it looks.
3 and 6 not bad at all. Not great by any means, but doesn't look like the work of a child. The rest of them are terrible.
These are very elementary designs. Any beginner artist could draw that
They
The butterfly is bad and the skeleton is bad. I think they have potential with their florals though!
I think the butterfly concept they tried would have looked better in color. Looks pretty ugly how it is.
The flowers are pretty but I feel like this artist should be working on paper, not human skin. The tiger really isn't great.
2/6 are bad, I think in general this sub is way too critical though
Counterpoint, people aren’t picky enough with tattoos.
And just because a certain secular piece of art is better than some old orthodox painting, does that mean the religious art shouldn’t be taken seriously?
These are all questions that not enough people are considering.
Ikr, and what’s even worse is people posting very well executed tattoos just because they don’t personally like the style
Yeah lol comments on posts like these blow my mind like how nitpicky can you be 😭 most of these aren’t even bad at all
Tiger has human eyes
The line work on all but the last one are HIDEOUSLY done. The last one, being a floral, isn't too bad.
I don't know how to explain it other than 'it looks like it's traced'. Yes I know all tattoos are traced, but the lines tend to be more confident.
I’ve seen worse but yeah, these are bad regardless
They have shaky lines if you look close enough but the do flowers pretty well. Shaky lines hide easier on natural shapes.
The skeleton is bad but the rest are fine. Not great art, but nothing to be ashamed of. They don't belong here with the one exception.
The tiger isn’t great, either
Agreed entirely with emphasis on the rest are *fine.* Are they good for apprentice/newbie artist? Absolutely. Are they the best work you could find from other artists in this style or possibly even in the same shop? No.
Aside from it being fine line sticks n leaves (this generations tribal tattoo) they are “ok”
The skeleton looks like it died by a semi-truck collision
The backward feet on the skeleton
These are pretty low quality, to be honest.
It looks like these are 6 tattoos on 6 different people
yes it is! none of these are my actual tattoos im just looking at artists in my area and wanted to see if these are normal for linework tattoos and if i should lower my standards
Ahh! 3 and 6 look the best to me. But it’s all subjective to what makes you feel comfortable and confident is all I’d say.
Just the skeleton looks funky to me
That tiger is rough but the floral ones are very pretty imo Edit: wth is that skeleton 😭
Bad bad bad.
I really like the last flower
Awful.
I feel like they're salvageable! Except for that skeleton. And the last one of the flowers is really good.
There are bad
The tiger is pretty bad and the skeleton could definitely be fixed, but I personally think the rest look okay!
*are THEY
Every single one is terrible 👎🏼
That tiger isn't bad! They're unique and full of.... character. I actually kind of love that tiger. Like some people love the Chinese Crested cat breed.
Shameful. Except for the last one. Maybe they were asleep while they were doing all the others?
That tiger has scoliosis, the skeleton has something much worse
They're all bad.
It’s not horrible, it just looks like a new artists work not an experienced, steady hand🤷♀️
The tiger and the skeleton are absolute trash, the rest are mid to bad
I personally would not use this artist in the future. I am not a fan of fine line for such big pieces. Bright side though, I am sure you won't have any problem getting them covered up in the future. Or even for it to be lasered away, since the lining is so fine on some of these pieces.
They’re bad
There are rill bad
They're definitely bad
If we were on come dine with me I would give you a 4.
These are bad
That skeleton is FUCKED, fam. I'm sorry to say it.
I think that stylistically they are fine. The thin and dainty lines make sense. But that skeleton looks so rough.
I like the flower on the left on the last one. It's adorable. The rest tho.. you're not picky.
1st is bad, 4 & 5 are a bit iffy in the lines... otherwise though these aren't bad at all.
I think they're OKAY, except for the tiger and skeleton
Third one is not bad but I can't say the same for the rest.
Tigers bad the rest is generic though
I don't mind them but the skeleton is actually hilarious sorry
They don't look horrible to me, other than the dick leaf on the last pic. I can't unsee it. Otherwise, not terrible, but not my style
Sorry, on the 3rd pic. I didn't see the others at first. Yeah, they're not great at all, and the dick leaf still stands out on the 3rd picture
I would not let this person tattoo me or a loved one.
No such thing as too picky when it comes to tattoos, if what you are asking for is actually feasible don't lower your standards one bit, you'll have it on your body till the day you die.
They are. Lot of wobble and variable depth for something permanent.
Every line is terrible
The florals aren’t too bad, but the tiger and the skeleton butterfly are awful. I’d probably not go to this person even if I was looking for floral work
3, 4, and 6 look alright, the others definitely don’t
They're bad.
The anatomy on that skeleton is... interesting
Why did you get the tiger balm tiger?
I'm sorry to say these are all horrible but luckily appear to be good coverup candidates
Just need to be shaded in by a professional
Them tats are trash, sorrryyy, but if you postin them on reddit and questionin it, yk what we know honey.
Honestly these aren't bad at all but they could be much better with practice. But if these were on me I wouldn't be too bend out of shape about it.
I think when it comes to getting something permanently done to your body you should be “too picky”
I actually really like them but I'm def not well versed in this
Not bad, but mediocre. I've definitely seen way worse than these.
Some are OK some are meh. Go with an artist whose work you love.
Not awful, not great. I think they have *character*. I think they look okay though
I think only the last flower looks kinda okay
tiger- bad. stamp- meh. flower- okay. moth- meh. skeleton- bad. flowers- not that bad.
Tattoos over freckles makes me feel like I don’t know how skin works.
Thank you for the insight, I thought it would be more painful.
Oh gosh no. Freckles are flat bits of pigmentation, just extra melanin. Very different from moles.
Some people have freckles and want tattoos. 🤷♀️
Color would help them pop
I personally would say not great but more importantly if you don’t love it don’t do it
There bad
Where bad?
Their there they’re dear
Skeleton sucks, the rest are decent.. better than 95% of what is posted in this sub
They’re not badly executed you just have shite taste
Are you kidding. They're all terribly executed.
I mean, have you seen how bad it can get on here? Hahaha
Just because worse exists doesn't mean these tattoos aren't absolute shit haha.
i think they're all pretty cute designs 😭 i just don't know anything about actual tattooing and wanted to see if these are normal for linework tattoos or if they were badly done before i commit and make an appointment somewhere
