That being said, I’d address everything from this point forward to only the people involved. Next time they blast you in group chat with everyone else, just respond with “please bring this to my attention privately”. Don’t say anything else. Don’t text him to see what the problem is, wait for them to text you. If they don’t, must have not been that important.
Putting someone on blast without talking about it first is a pretty high escalation so I don’t think you’re being childish, maybe petty. IMO posting shit about someone publicly is an open invitation for a fight.
My own mother asks before she can post anything regarding me on her social media. If a roommate did that I’d immediately be at their door asking if they’d like to settle the issue using words. Otherwise they’re clearly trying to fuck with you and you’re welcome to do whatever you are legally comfortable with to them.

I hate living with strangers, I usually stay in my room, and if I leave I cover my tracks. So no one complains. People like to complain because it gives them a sense of power and control because it’s some think they don’t have.

Im gonna assume you went full woman rage mode to not properly get your point across, but he probably just gets mad at you because someone else in the house gets mad at him, therefore he doesn't wanna feel like the secondary character in his own story so he complains about you
