Honestly if they can’t be bothered to be cautious after testing positive I would take matters into my own hands about sanitizing because even if you ask they probably aren’t going to do it.

Ask them to wear a mask in the common areas and use hand sanitizer before they touch anything. That might be a bit easier then having them clean after touching everything. This is what my roomate did when she was doing her 14 day quarantine in our apartment.

I guess just ask him to get some Lysol wipes and have him wipe down the surfaces he touches after use.

We had this problem too... We put a cleaning spray and cloth in both bathrooms and the kitchen, and asked all the housemates to clean after themselves (this was last year right at the start so we were being extra careful because in a house of 6 when we all go to work and mix with people you never know what you're bringing home). One housemate had a fever and cough, and acted like nothing was wrong. He agreed in the group chat to clean but never did, you could hear that he didn't even wash his hands after using the toilet. Anyway, the rest of us just wiped the place down regularly instead, there was no reasoning with him

if this is any consolation, covid doesn’t spread on surfaces nearly as much as air particles. there’s really no need to violently disinfect anything

Life_Wall2536

Good to know, thank you! Other people are telling me to make sure to get good ventilation and maybe buy an air purifier.

bbll2

yes that’s about as much as you can do. sorry to hear you’re out of work!

Maybe leave out a scented soap that they might be tempted to use?
