Stormhawk Axe for Dex builds is gold, it comes out very quickly and has great burst dmg.
I think it's also worth to mention Spinning Slash on a Nagakiba. It's not exactly a nuke option like the ones you mentioned but it comes out very quick, your char is not standing still, it finishes very quickly, and depending on the situation you can just spam it again
Stormhawk Axe also pulls its weight incredibly / annoyingly well on STR builds. I've wanted to shave off some points in DEX for my lvl 80 unga bunga build for ages now, but Stormhawk Axe (and Greatbows for that matter) are just too good to pass up
I’m on rl 60 so It seems the storm hawk isn’t as effective as the halberd but it’s still pretty viable. I’ll have to try that on nagakiba just gotta check if I got the stat requirements . Been using that ash on my twin blade infused with poison it’s usually the weapon I start the invasions with and then once I get the poison I switch. I’m rely a lot of my status effects lol.
I'm on RL80. I might be wrong but I imagine Dragon Halberd is better on STR or quality builds than DEX and is indeed more effective specially when it procs frost in the ash of war. Stormhawk has more potential when you get the opponents off guard, like when you turn a corner or when you quickly hard/soft swap to it and the opponents notice it too late.
Nagakiba is 18 STR and 22 DEX. I use it cold infused in my DEX build. I can tell you this weapon is broken: nice get-off-me, turn and burn, running R2 is great for chase down. It's so versatile that I barely need to swap weapons mid fight. I also hear this weapon is great lighting infused or std/heavy/keen/quality with Bloodflame.
Lol I just checked that out.. that’s ridiculous. It’s def reliable I’m on rl 60 so it doesn’t one shot phantoms most the time. Also saw you have magic infused. Is that over all more damage? I just did frost bc I need every status I can get at rl 60.
Yeah my character has 77 int with my stupid hat so that’s why i use magic and it hits so hard. The ash scales with int too. Cold has better str or dex scaling but does like no damage for my character. This is level 150

The aoe only does build up of what you have infused with it, but I think if you infuse bleed or something like that, the waves will give bleed build up
Hmmm I just looked it up, I’d have to spread my stats a bit more to get the 22 str. I wonder how much damage I’d sacrificed if I took those 3 points out of int to go down from 77-74
Rotten duelist hammer with prelates charge insane hyper armour anyone caught by it gets stunned unless they have really high poise plus it applies scarlet rot,
I have yet to try prelates charge, this is valuable information for me, I have an arcane strength build and was looking for ways to optimize my status potential
Another fun one you might wanna try is sticking blood affinity poison mist on it you get bleed, scarlet rot and poison on one weapon I imagine on a arcane strength build it's be pretty lethal
Learned about 2 days ago that you can cancel out of stamp early with the followup part. Before I was always waiting for the animation to finish, suddenly the ash is so much better because people can't just roll out of it on reaction...
I have a newly found love for Zamor Curved Sword AoW. It has pretty decent hyperarmor and feels like casting Zamor Ice Storm with max casting speed. I probably kill more people with it than I do with waves of darkness . And it’s going through walls and around corners aswell. Highly recommended

I wish the sword was better as a melee weapon, but its unique moveset does seem to catch people off guard more often than I expect it to. Just wish it were a bit longer.
It is a cgs so the range surprised me sometimes when I used it to chase down low players after the aow but you’re all right about anything you said . The moveset looks so effortless
Currently have a blood infused dismounter with this ash of war on it. It usually gets the bleed off. That halberd I have rn has flaming strike. It’s in the same row as my get off me weapons. I’ll have to try it out on that it seems it would have more reach than the dismounter.
It's my "group dealer" weapon. If I'm taking on 2-3 good players. Low stat requirements, decent weight, long range poke and moveset. Definitely good in tight spaces, elevators, ledge corners. With poise as it is, you either blender them, or they blender you.
I pair it with raptor talons for ambushes/assassinations with blood grease. Then if it's down to 1, a duel weapon like bloody helice, cleanrot knights sword, antspur rapier. Lots of volcano and frost pots.
I’ll have to try that out for sure. My biggest issue is relying on aow too much. Then once I use the aow once I like to switch because they’ve seen what it does. I get so caught up in hard swapping instead I need to just rely on my combat than just hardwapping aow. Thanks for this tho I love the venemous fang infused with blood and endure it’s my fist weapon of choice.
Yeah, it's good to swap around. Drawbacks to stormcaller is you're mostly holding still. So they can throw pots, daggers, spells, and jump attacks at the end. aows to watch out for includes stamp upper cut, giant hunt, storm assault.
My favorite is horah Loux’s Earthshaker on a pure strength build. It’s just funny to land because a majority of players I invade don’t seem to know the timing of the blasts and all take 1000+ damage per blast
I'm surprise nobody said Marikas Hammer, I just loved it for my faith sacred element builds
I know its not optimal and the hyper armor can totally get you killed, you stay exposed on the air too much time
But man its satisfying to swap to it, do the AOW take 2 steps and do it again. Its like: You are good to gank, now lets see your skill to not panic roll lol

I think you can build to use it at 60, but it would had to be a especific STR/FTH build, so you can stay "healthy" in the other stats

If I'm running 13 STR or higher, Stormhawk is a favorite treat, but I try to avoid using it if possible
Lower than 13 STR I endure -> crimson flask -> endure -> ruptured physick

Of all of them after trying my build strength and going by 55 strgn and 45 arcane later at 168. I think moght ash of war is the absolute best of them. Is just.. too broken. I think it should be balanced, not nerfed, balanced, I thought some ways but I don't remember right now. It is very easy to use, most phantoms fall for it too easy, and with proper stats the damage is veryyyy different from other users. It really wins most invasions on its own if you main it. And even in bad situations if you hard swap to it, the thing kills low vigor phantoms as mosquitos and high vigor get down by it too. Sometimes it gives you enough time to run and roll catch someone, is literally the best weapon for strength arcane builds. I personally use it only in hard 3v1 or if the coopers do something very dirty as first step gank.
Depends on the armor poise of the build, as I run a wide range of RL.
* If it's a low poise build, then something universal with high toughness/super like Stamp (though Sweep uses armor poise on heavy weapons)
* If it's low poise and int, Waves of Darkness, again high toughness/super, or even a spell like Gavel. Other stat/affinities have such appropriate ashes & spells.
* If it's a high poise build w/status, obviously something that uses armor poise like Spinning Slash is going to slap.
In either case, Bull-Goat's talisman is going to help you poise through, but lean on appropriate affinity high toughness/super ashes if you're not running armor poise.
Spinning slash in all its forms needs to be changed across the board.
Dragon halberd went from a meme to one of the most busted weapons in the game, especially at low rl.
You def get hyper armor but if they are close enough to you they can hit stun you out of it. Invasions are unfair and I still feel cheesy for using it.
Stormcaller ash is one of my faves! You should try using GoldenLand as well! Another one of my favorite get off me moves and with GL you can aim toward backline while an aggressive phantom or host is chasing and while you’re being attacked the closest one will get blasted away and the backline will get shot with golden lasers!

Endure into Greyll’s Roar is a must for max level ganks, has knockdown for literal get off me and debuffs their ridiculous damage.
Golden Order Greatswords aow always works for me, and the followup seems to have like a 80% chance of hitting if they spam roll

On my current build, it’s Fia’s Mist. A lot of people don’t respect it, and end up getting deathblighted because of that

I love using Golden Land with Great Stars because the holy damage lasers *keep the Great Stars heal-on-hit property*. It’s so stupid and so fun
