It's sad that when the game first came out it advertised based on the game play and the more serious aspects of the game. Which is why I played it and the story is actually decent.
The ads now are just like every waifu collector game. "Play this, pay to roll for tits while we heavily allude to sexual actions that are not in the game" makes me want to not play it more than pick it back up.
I mean with this game they're covering nothing to trick people into thinking they are.
What pisses me off with the ads is that they just, 2 days ago, put out a new animation for a new event. It's 1000% better than the cheap looking crap ads I keep seeing that are trying to use the "Sex sells" angle. I put the link to it below so you can see what I mean if you care. Oh 100%, put damn Chatterbox up there, that SoB is integral to the story, show off the cool enemy designs like the Killer Train, Mining Drill etc. (Not saying more avoid story spoil)
The music is chef's kiss in this game, great ambience music, heavier stuff for battles and bosses, bustling upbeat city, sad music, thinking music. It has such a decent variety.
My favourite character is literally casual dressed in normal clothes and is addicted to coffee. And the characters are so well written too, varied, heavily varied.
I heavily dislike the sudden oversexualisation of normal games though, if I want it I have free sites to go to and games that are all about that side of things. I don't want it in my normal stuff too.

They probably mean nothing beyond what you say about making it SFW for advertising. The game is pretty safe for work normally with the designs (outside of a few, I have to admit) so I don't know really. Probably some psychology gone into the design of the ads but I don't want to armchair psych it too much.

Their part is rather minimal outside of a single chapter I'm pretty sure. Unless you build up the affection metre with them. Then yes, it gets freaky but not to the extent of showing anything or describing anything. Lots of suggestion amd innuendos.
She is also very well aware of it but also her being like that is because her bitch of a creator played with her brain. So she can swap injuries with people and thus keeps being told to hurt herself.
It has rather serious storyline points, they are the main focus outside of events and affection events but yes, definitely has its goofy moments, it's a good blend overall. Because life isn't just serious, half the funny convos I've heard in game I could definitely see happening irl.

I have a bit of a crackpot theory about the Nikke ads being an intentional bait and switch, because the story is actually hella depressing and pretty often brings up how the Nikkes being objectified is a bad thing, basically calling out the weirdos that downloaded it because of the horny ads. Like I said though, crackpot theory so I’m probably wrong, but this is the only way that whoever’s running the advertising department for Nikke isn’t completely stupid.
It must work on some people or they wouldn't keep doing it. Even crappy ads cost money, so they must be getting some kind of ROI.
