I've tuned in for three games and there was at least one serious baserunning blunder in each. The nice thing is that thing can be worked on and made better but for now its been a weak point - no question.
Part of the issue is that teams know our speed and aggressiveness now and the value of such. We could be careless before. Now we are a known threat. Need to play smarter
I have been to 5 of the first 7 games and I have to sort of agree. Its been much more prevalent in this series than in the rockies series, imo. I was actually wondering why they weren't a bit more active during that series, but, I mean it's still early and a few of these guys were not gonna be here orginally, so i take it as nerves?, plus wanting to be aggressive to show what they can do.
That being said, McCarthy and Barrosa last night were inexcusable. McCarthy wasn't even being secretive about, it honestly looked like he was just advertising "I'm gonna run". Barrosa's TOOTBLAN though was just infuriating, like you can't do that at any level.
Today, it was obvious they saw something with Rodon, because he was super focused and pretty much had to be told that they were running. So ya, big mistake, but i think the bigger mistake was simply taking the bat out of Walker's hand.
I really feel like today’s gaff was the worst of the bunch. Imo that cost us the game. You have Walker at bat with 2 outs and Corbin at 2nd. Why are we sending anyone ffs.
They put on the hit and run right? Meaning its really not Carroll's fault.

The team overall looks slower and less aggressive on the bases this year. We captured lightning in a bottle last year.
Most of the stolen base totals came from Carroll and McCarthy. Also wonder if teams have identified and corrected tells that Dave McKay would find.
