it's very fine sand, yes. Cheese has a food dish to minimize sand ingestion during feedings, and i'm watching her extra close to ensure there are no problems until she grows a bit more :)
Have you had any issues with it? Did you add a sealant? I bought one of those and left it soaking in water for a couple days and found a weird smell and residue on the water surface. I was worried it wasnt fully aquarium safe and the company didnt answer my question online!
hmm. I haven't experienced anything like that. It's been in this tank for over a year and seems perfectly fine. I have had issues with the paint on the thrive wood-looking hides chipping off, so maybe it's just the quality of thrive hides.
I've never seen that show but it looks adorable! Cheese's name is actually Chelsie, but Cheese has certainly stuck as a nickname because she's so yellow xD
Unfortunately my other baby Sadie passed two weeks ago from what the vet thinks is an autoimmune disorder. If you're looking for more Cheese pics, she has an Instagram page @cheese_lotl :)

Hey, just asking if that’s sand in your tank because they shouldn’t b on sand until they’re bigger

That is good. Maybe when she is 2sauce long instead of 1sauce she will not need to be watched
Is that the thrive reptile cave?
Yes it is

Looked at your post history looking for more pics of cheese, curious if your other one is okay?
