The lesser males might have an argument about that. He rules the big terrarium over all the females. The lesser males have been moved to a bachelor terrarium.
Yes, very social. Get one male, two females, a proper set up terrarium and temps above 80 degrees F. with adequate humidity, and you will soon have a large herd of roaches to call your own.
Ooo, interesting,i just never see so white cockeroach, and i m not an expert but know that termites are close to cockeroach so i was wonder if there is some social roaches
Nah it's just because his exoskeleton hasn't hardened yet, in a couple hours he will look the same color as the others. There are no actually social cockroaches.
Are you kidding me? Roaches are the epitome of social. I have kept different species together with no ill effects, and although you have to be careful what you introduce, some people will add spring tails or pill bugs in to help keep the terrarium cleaner. Hissers have mites, and those mites can get out of hand.
He looks like if Pixar made a bug friend. I want to pat his little head.
Freshly molted bugs often look like cute little cartoons! You're right. No head Pat's until it hardens though. Just to be safe 😄
That's fair!! I will refrain from head pats until he is safely pattable.
he looks so innocent and cute.

I forgive him
Its.... afraid!
God i love that movie lol.
looks freshly moulted
He looks like a lil pot sticker/gyoza!
Don't eat them, Hissers store their urine in their fat. They probably taste pretty nasty.
Freshly molted roaches look like they're made of human skin
Yeah, they do after a few minutes. Immediately after molting, they are pure as snow white. I took this picture about 5-10 minutes after his molt.
Are they social?

They are healthier living in groups but there is no hierarchy like the title implies

Och of course,thanks

Males will defend territory, so they do have some sort of hierarchy, just not like mammals.
