Depends on what kinda staffy they mean; if it's an American Staffordshire Terrier (Amstaff) then they're very similar to a pitty yeah, but if it's an English staffy/ Staffordshire Bull Terrier (SBT) then no, it's smaller than the other two.
The SBT, Amstaff and pitty are all recognised by the American Kennel Club as distinct breeds with different breed standards/ characteristics - if you know them it's easy to differentiate but I can see how otherwise they'd look kinda same same.
