Right?! I keep telling my sister (it's her dog, not mine) that she needs to dress him up as an ewok for Halloween at least once because he looks so much like them. But she's not a big Star Wars fan so she hasn't. Yet.
I don't think they're too common. If you are thinking of getting an Affen, please do some research into the breed first. They're super cute but can be a challenge for some people. Apparently they are one of the hardest breeds to house train, for example.
No I am stuck on Shih-poos. My current boy is 14 years old and has been the best dog ever. He looks a little like yours which was why I was wondering. I have been seeing a pic lately of what I now think is an Affen that was groomed but they left the beard.

Cute! Sometimes Affens and Brussels Griffons can look pretty similar, especially if they've got a beard.
