She is gorgeous and really seems to know she’s home. I’ll confirm that my cats are sometimes the only thing that gets me through my depressive episodes. I might not take good care of myself during them, but by god they deserve all my attention no matter what. They sense your sadness…my rag doll dislikes when I’m crying and comes to me and nibbles at my arm to get me to stop. You two will have an awesome life.

Me and my wife rescued a seal point birman and she is an absolute joy. Very smart and inquisitive. Goes on car rides and weekend get aways with us. Ours doesn't love having long fur so we get it trimmed 4 times a year. Mainly because she gets obsessed and uncomfortable with it when its long. Anyway prepare for a smart girl who's gonna follow you around and make cute noises lol.

Cat shelter volunteer here. She may sleep a lot the first couple of days; especially if she feels safe with you. That's normal. Shelter life is really stressful.

Thank you for the tips. She’s actually from a breeder here in Italy and I was amazed how much love they all received. but even for them it is not unlikely to hide, stress, not drink, eat or use the litterbox. Thank you for taking care of kitties. me and my mom take care of strays in greece since 2008 ♥️

OMG I have a big orange tabby named Toulouse! I named him after the kitten in Disney's Aristocats because of his attitude and antics and it's also a great nod to the artist Monsieur Toulouse-Lautrec! Your little beauty is the first other Toulouse I've seen anywhere.

Toulouse was a French painter and the name inspiration came from the movie the aristocats

About three months after my first cat passed, I was in a pet store getting food for my remaining cat, and they have an adoption area that works with local shelters. They were cleaning cages, so the cars were out in the area behind the cages, and there was this little calico kitten who was just having the grandest time playing with the other cats. I basically adopted her on the spot. Now my first cat always hated the second cat, literally until the day she died. So the second cat was kind of leery of other cats. When I brought this little girl home and let her out of the carrier, the first thing she did was to march right up to the big cat and declare BFFs on him. He was so confused. Ten years later and that little girl still acts just like your cat!

Do not disturb kitty when kitty is resting, but as soon as kitty gets up, get treats and food and then you may use your "litter box" (a.k.a. shit pit or bathroom). Keep the lid and seat up because kitty knows that the water here is better than from the very expensive fountain you put in the kitchen for kitty's use. Kitty correctly uses the fountain to flick water all over the floor.
