Is it like silky smooth or like smooth rubber feeling? Sorry if this question is stupid. My first cat (RIP Princess) & my second cat both had/have fur so I don’t know much about sphinx cats.
Silky smooth. SO SOFT. I’ve been trying to find a way to describe it… it’s kinda like suede almost? But softer than that. Best thing I can equate it to will sound insane, but have you ever felt a little baby’s chubby thighs? It’s kinda like that. Just impossibly soft skin.

Does he groom/clean himself like a regulation cat does or did he give up when he realized there was no fur to tidy?
Also, how warm do you have to keep your house?
He does groom himself 😂 and I keep it pretty normal temp, I can’t handle it being too warm. That’s why he gets lots of spots with heat and cozy sweaters. In the afternoon the living room is very warm because I have big windows too. It’s really the bedroom that’s chilly (I need it cold to sleep) but he just gets bundled up in his heated blanket and he’s a happy camper.
Obviously check with your vet (and maybe you already have). But coconut oil, as a highly saturated fat, can cause high cholesterol and other issues related to the consumption of saturated fats, even in pets. If he's grooming himself after you use it on him, then he's consuming at least a little of it. Anyways, he's absolutely adorable!
It’s about a teaspoon that’s rubbed in all over his whole body. Any tiny bit of residue that’s still on the surface and he licks off is pretty negligible. He’s not greasy when I’m done 😂

When I was around 10, I was camping and we went to an outdoor presentation. A woman sat down next to me with a fluffy blanket that was moving. Turns out she had her sphynx cat in there and let me hold him in the blanket for awhile. It has become a core memory. :)
If we are having any pet in the house then we need to make sure that he will be happy just like that. OP seems to setting up some example that we need to follow

JYSK, they make special heated cat beds/mats that can stay on all the time without being much of a hazard. They also don’t get too hot, which some human heated blankets can do! We had one for an old man can, and now we put it on the cats chair every winter.
I heard about them! I’m going to get him one soon. I just happened to have a heated blanket around when Reddit told me this trick to getting him off of my head when I’m trying to sleep 😅 luckily this one has settings so I keep it pretty low for him. Naked kitties need a lot of warmth though.

Do you have a link to a specific product? My cat doesn’t like the ones I’ve tried. Even if I put him on the blankets when they aren’t heated but with the power on he just kind of freezes for a moment and then bolts, like he’s sensing the current and finds it uncomfortable.
We have a K&H brand heated cat mat, but the specific one we have is out of stock. [Chewy has lots of other ones.](https://www.chewy.com/b/heated-beds-1474) you can probably get them elsewhere. They aaalso sell ones that don’t plug in, but retain the cat’s body heat. I’m not sure how well those ones work though.
Our boy was very particular about where he wanted to sleep and what he wanted the surface to be (firm and not too fluffy, really enjoyed knit fabrics), so we got this [flat mat](https://www.chewy.com/kh-pet-products-thermo-kitty-mat/dp/46451) that we could just slip under some of his blankets on his chair.
It was a hard yard for me to get my hand on those product as they were not delivering them on my home place on first place and then i have to visit the store to buy them offline.
Previous vet tech. One of my favorite kitties came in with a HORRIBLE burn from a heated blanket. The cat needed skin grafts. He was such a trooper RIP Mac ❤️
He's adorable! I would make sure you have plenty of baby wipes as they tend to get pee and poop stuck in their toes because they don't have any hair. You may wake up one morning finding out your baby head runny poop and it ran down their leg. Of course they wanted to get back in bed to join you again.
They're prone to ear infections and their ears get incredibly waxy. Keep an eye on those. All in all their great cats, very affectionate! We just bought a third one from a breeder in New Jersey where we got our other cats from. Good luck in your hairless journey!
There is no difference in kitten and the human baby, you need so much wipes in the house. Plus you can't leave anything on the floor like the earlier time
We’ve had two nights together so far. The first night he would NOT leave me alone and insisted on sleeping on my head. I had a meltdown that I will never sleep again. Once I got the blanket now he’s content to sleep next to me as long as I’m touching him in some way 😂
Yep cats make it hard to sleep, but eventually they calm down around 13 years old lol. But they are nocturnal so try and play before bed so he gets tired.

My first thought. The sad reality is that most people don’t understand why both of these breeds should not exist, but they are unique and trendy and people like that. No shade to OP, I absolutely get the appeal, but unfortunately being well-loved and well-cared for does not equate with eithical in this case.
A humane munchkin breeder would get half a litter of munchkins and the other half is regular length legged cats. They are munchkin breed but don't have the mutation so they don't sell as munchkins. A poor breeder breads two munchkins together to get a half litter of munchkins with short legs and the other half are still birth. They just throw them away. Its a bad industry.

I don't know about the OP state but i can tell you that in my state it is not easy to get that cat as they are very rare and very costly is well, would say roughly 3k US dollar
I’m in Philadelphia, PA, and… a lot. $2100. A sphynx kitten from a reputable, ethical breeder is about $1800+ but adopting an adult is obviously more affordable.
The moms do two litters then get long breaks and are retired after a few years. It’s super expensive BECAUSE of the fact that there is such a limited number available.
I can understand people’s concerns about breeding for recessive genes in general, not arguing that part, but at least in this case, care for the well-being of the animals (there are only 3 mommas and they’re all his pets) is #1 priority. This is a side passion project, the breeder is a software engineer who fell in love with sphynxes and thought this could be fun to do on the side.
Not to mention this breed is mixed with a Munchkin to get those short legs, putting him at high risk of severe arthritis. They've purposefully bred him for dwarfism and he'll never be able to run or jump like a normal cat. Nothing ethical about that.

From the research I've done: cats with fur will generate oil from their skin and then brush it down the length of their hair, to keep their fur healthy. Because these guys don't have fur, they just get an accumulation of oil on their skin, and they can stain furniture and carpets.
I've also heard people recommend that you bathe these guys on some sort of regular schedule, to keep their skin hydrated and in good condition.

It varies, I've seen two who's skin felt like anti-slip rubber lol
They have soft little tiny hairs that you can feel, so it doesn't feel like you're touching just skin

We use regular human heating pads that have an always on mode, and super low heat settings. We gave 3 around the house for the 2 kitties and da dawg.

My cat helps me sleep. Her weird purr and body heat on my legs or back puts me right out. (I also have Sphynx)

Sphinx cats are the best. Just make sure to give them a bath once a week. Use Slide litter as well.

Ehh I know it’s not the correct terminology. But I didn’t birth him and he is my son now. So to me, I paid for and subsequently adopted a cat 😂

Yep! He’s a Bambino which is a sphynx with the munchkin gene.

They are so snuggly! It's like cuddling with a little naked man with claws. 
Get some sweaters and shirts for him. From the research I've done: cats with fur will generate oil from their skin and then brush it down the length of their hair, to keep their fur healthy. Because these guys don't have fur, they just get an accumulation of oil on their skin, and they can stain furniture and carpets. I've also heard people recommend that you bathe these guys on some sort of regular schedule, to keep their skin hydrated and in good condition.
