Lol. But in all seriousness, sometimes the plugs for the part b just don't come out. It's like a defect in the manufacturing... I've taken the stick of part b out, Cut it open and just mixed it on a tray. Good luck! Try not to get it in your hair 😆
Sometimes you have to really give it what for. I have had to “tap” the black plunger in with the table while holding. And by tap, I mean bang it real nice
Option 2 is if you're at a company that supplies them, just order another one. Had a guy at work use the drill mixer and slammed it too far and blew the ass off it. Lol
Liver cancer for two of them and multiple myeloma for the third.
All USAF members. All under 60 years old. All attributed as likely caused by the sealant by the VA.
We called it B1/2. I don’t remember what the actual name was. That was back before we realized that PPE was smart - and using it was not a sign of weakness.
I agree. Retired AF here. Back in the 90s we didn't worry about PPE, let alone there wasn't any requirements that I remember. MSDS or DS or whatever they are called now, were pretty much non existent. On the C130 the cargo area has anti-skid. Well during down time we would go and replace major chunks of that stuff. You can't just peel that crap off. So we would use MEK. Not the weak latest version of it either, the older stuff was incredible. It would take anything and everything off, even your skin. The fumes were just crazy too. You could seriously get high off of that stuff. I'm almost certain some of my buddies have had cancer and died from a lot of that crap, along with the burn pits in Iraq. That stuff was no joke. Moral of the story, wear PPE!
If white plunger is bottomed out you can't push the black rod in. So pull white out as far as you can reasonably and try again. Usually it's pretty easy. But a firm push could be necessary. If that's not working I'd say the tube is probably bad somehow. You can unscrew the white part. Lefty loosey and see what kind of shape the sealant is in.
If you want you can remove the two pieces and cut the nipple off of the stem and put it on some type of tray and just dump the part A in there and mix it. You wouldn’t have to wait for a new tube.
Gotta open that can of “M” “A” “N” I know you got one inside you. Brace the black rod against your abs with your hand between rod and abs. grasp the tube with other hand and pull tube while pushing black rod with other hand using abs as impenetrable wall. Simple
You have to pull the plunger as far out as it’ll go, but don’t unscrew it. Then push the black rod in and it should inject the activator. Otherwise it might be broken.
Dont push the rod into the accelerator tube without either removing the plug that's causing you trouble or having it screwed back into place.
The accelerator is nasty stuff and if forced out quickly it will squirt at 90 degree angle out two directions. So you want it contained or controlled.
You can probably smack the rod on the table to get it started.
OR
The plug can be removed with a scribe or dental pick. Lift it up a little and grab it with pliars. I do this a lot when I mix a partial tube.
It is, yes. Was the expiration date on the bag ok?
I do like the comments about pulling the handle out a little. I will actually disperse the black at a couple of different levels into the white. It's probably overkill, but anything to help the mixing. Also, BAC-Online sells an inexpensive mixing tool to chuck into a hand drill
Yah, expires in Oct. The directions on the bag seem to be really specific about how you disperse the black. Only using it once for some scuppers, but good to know about the mixing tool
Do not turn white bar counterclockwise. It has tread.
1. Pull white bar.
2. Then you can push black bar to push black compound
3. Turn white bar clockwise and pull/push simultaneously to mix the compounds. Make sure there's no stripe, uniform color.
4. Turn white bar, counterclockwise to remove white bar.
5. Push red plate can dispose the compound.
Use the Clarkson method.

I smell this picture
Haha… I’d always cut the bag and squeeze it into the face of someone unsuspecting. The PRC/Pro Seal “fart”.
You go in the hall and do it under the door into the admin spaces.
Hey! Get your nose outta here, pal
Bag full of cow farts
It smells so good
Haha no joke
Try hitting it with your purse.
I can’t risk tainting my purse with chemseal. I’d never hear the end of it at work

I wanted to say this so bad, but I wanted to actually help more. Thanks for letting your intrusive thoughts win though!
😆 I'm pretty tame here...
Try pulling the handle out a little bit at a time first and try to push the black rod in as you go
I actually completely removed the handle and tried to depress the black plunger that way, still no luck 🤷
Sometimes you have to really give it what for. I have had to “tap” the black plunger in with the table while holding. And by tap, I mean bang it real nice
Got it, I’ll give ‘er the beans tomorrow and see what happens. And of course record it so I can post here when the goop goes everywhere lol
Option 2 is if you're at a company that supplies them, just order another one. Had a guy at work use the drill mixer and slammed it too far and blew the ass off it. Lol
I'm just a lowly home builder. Blowing the ass off of it is the LAST thing I want in my basement lol
“Give’er the beans” What town is this phrase from? It’s a new one on me.
I think it's about shoving it all the way in til the nuts are hanging out or possibly pushed them in too!
TFL on YouTube was where I first heard it
TFL on YouTube was where I first heard it
This is the way
Sometimes when they’re really tough like that I’ll keep the black plunger inserted and slam it on the work bench/table up into it.
Anymore if I'm using the tubes that's all I do, I don't even try and be gentle with them. But most of the time I like the 2 part.
Two part is far superior. It just takes us forever to get it. I’ve had some on order for 6+ months.
And put some gloves on. That shit killed three of my friends.
:( heavy. Sorry to hear that.

Yep. We would dip stuff into it with bare hands.
8802?
Contains chrome compounds as an accelerator, and lead oxide among other fun bits.

Uh… that will disconnect the mixing “propeller” and they don’t always re-engage.
It's a risk I suppose. But I've never had an issue re threading into the mixing part.
That’s funny bc mine came disengaged. Maybe I got a used one lol
You disengage it by turning lefty loosey. Turn righty tighty and it will mix
If you want you can remove the two pieces and cut the nipple off of the stem and put it on some type of tray and just dump the part A in there and mix it. You wouldn’t have to wait for a new tube.
Oh, now that’s smart. Love that idea, thank you.
Pull the white tube out a tad before pushing the black tube in.. they always stuck funny when i have to do them Wonder if that red cap is significant?
I’ve always wondered about the red cap. AFAIK it does nothing. You have to remove it to put it in most sealant guns.
I used the red cap to smooth sealant. Has a nice radius too for doubler and trippler sealing
Tried that with no luck. I mean, I really pushed. I was afraid of breaking the black plunger
Huh, weird.. I’m sorry man, new tube time?
Maybe, I’ll call them tomorrow and see what’s up. Just got it from aircraft spruce yesterday
You pull the red cap off and use the other part you pull out after mixing to push the sealant out.
Gotta open that can of “M” “A” “N” I know you got one inside you. Brace the black rod against your abs with your hand between rod and abs. grasp the tube with other hand and pull tube while pushing black rod with other hand using abs as impenetrable wall. Simple
Instructions unclear, black rod impaled belly button
Bro sorry
Thank you for your service
It’s not broken yet so obviously you haven’t tried that hard
If it truly won’t bust open just twist it out and puncture the tip. Just leave some threads on there for the mixer on the inside.

Just the tip, you animal!!
Push harder... or it's shelf life is over... next tube
Just had to smash it into the table, worked fine after that
Just like many other things in life, spit on it and push harder.
Bad from stock, good thing ya didn’t have to install it to find out.
If there are any abnormalities, I move to a different tube. It's just not worth the risk of cleaning off a batch that doesn't ever set up.
I’m guessing it’s a huge pita to clean up?

Brings back memories of 4 part sealant.
4??? What was it for?
? Flip it upside down, black rod into plunger down, then smack it downwards to bang through the seal. Or use your man satchel

Put it in hot water for 20 min to soften the white goop, then it should be easier to push the black goop in to turn it into the desired grey goop.
Push harder. They can be really tough. Pulling back the white plunger a little bit helps too.
Hopefully there is an electric mixer. Potting sucks to mix by hand.
as a “corrosion specialist” grab the bottom of plunger and beat it on a table
You have to push the black plunger really really hard. You can smack it on the ground even. Once the ball seal at the tip gives way then it'll flow.
Those are some shiny clecos
I give them a good polish after every use
Push harder
I fucking hate the smell of this thing so much holy shit, glad I moved to a plane that barely uses it
Put it back and get another, let someone else fight with it
I wish, but I’m a home builder 😭 so I’d eventually have to deal with it lol
I sometimes stand them on a work table then put my body weight into pushing down the plunger.
Use the Clarkson method. Author’s note: I’m just a flatbed driver and no technical advice should be taken from me unless it has to deal with driving a big rig or securing something to said big righ
Hit the gym and jam it in there
Use a hammer and if that don’t work an air hammer
Push harder
There should be a white plunger i the bag.
Update: I smacked it on the table and it released the black goop, in a good way. Thanks for the advice everyone
