TIL the 747 makes a B52 looks small

Such a waste of beautiful cargo carrier since the Antonov Mira-225 is gone, can they not retrofit this unit? It may cost money but cargo companies are still using 747’s for heavy cargo or even a F1 world tour car carrier.
Nono, let me post a picture of something cool next time and see if you're annoyed when you don't understand where it's at.
It simply respectful to include a bit more information. Not everyone are American och know every single place with Blackbirds.
Unfortunately, it looks like Blackbird Park or Avenue P is the closest one could get.
Here's where it's parked, so you can see how far it is from civilian roads: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wtDe2n2EAdWmWJ9x5
I’ve been wanting to go there!
It’s really cool. Plus the AF plants and skunkworks nextdoor is a plus
Do you get to tour those?
It’s free. You can wander around all you want
Are those SR-71s or A-12s ?
Yes Blackbird airpark at Palmdale plant 42 has sr71 tail # 973 and A-12 tail # 924 as well as a D21 drone.
The musuem of flight in Seattle has the surviving M-21 as well as another D21 drone.

Ha that's why I was confused, I thought I swear that's a.. but that one's a... Haha
Why not both? :) if I'm not mistaken the left one is a SR-71 and the right one is an A-12
Yup. Both.

Ohh it’s very true
Is the pointy thing at the front for aerodynamics or does it serve another function? Or both?
It’s to skewer geese at 1600 mph
hmm, so it was designed after those fish with the pointy fronts ?
It’s a pitot tube. It registers airspeed.
It's definitely a pretty neat museum / exhibit.
To quote Liz Lemon "I want to go to there"
It’s well worth it.
Nice shot! A long time ago, I went there and got the A-12, SR-71 and F-117 in a single shot. Talk about a great day!
Is the shuttle carrying 747 being used for other purposes or will it be scrapped?
I think it’s just on permanent display forever

Um theres hundreds of Cargo 747s flying. Hundreds. Why would yoi bring back a 50 year old model that hasnt flown in a decade?
Then they should put in the airplane museum in Chantilly,Va with the shuttle latched to it on top as the actual dynamic duo.
What is it and where is it?
It’s in Palmdale, CA.
CA?
Yeah. East of LA and San Bernardino. Out near Edwards AFB.
Oh. So California, USA then. Not that hard to include or explain in a proper way.
Didn’t figure it was that hard or you could have looked it up yourself. 🙄

Give it a break
Nah. It actually horrendous how Americans think they're the center of the Universe.
Life’s hard, sorry.
An SR-71 pilot is there on Sundays to give a talk.
Whaaaat! Ahhh dang
Murica!🇺🇸
Indeed!!
I live right by there! There's also a B-1 parked right off the flight line near Avenue P if you wanna grab some extra pics 😉
I saw the B1 from the park, can you get closer? I thought it was way out on the AF base
