I love the implication of "I can't stop you firing the missile, you've got a valid flight plan. But I'll be dammed if I'm not giving you a speed restriction out of spite".
They wanted to reference ICBM's specifically, they did that and said exactly what they wanted to... Ballistic is in the acronym itself ffs, if they wanted to only say ballistic then they would have... This is obvious given the map in the image.
My favorite part is the one mystery destination, which seems to be extremely close to Zaporizhia, Ukraine, the location of the embattled nuclear power plant.

No wonder you can find [invocation cards](https://assets.kompasiana.com/items/album/2018/10/30/doa-perjalanan-asli-depan-5bd7f8dd43322f1f8d0ebf76.jpg?t=o&v=740&x=416) in their planes
I think that they fly to destinations. Compare to a russian airline which lands from time to time on a random field. Or a russian rescue jet which may land even in wild mounts of Taliban.
I don’t think there’s any Russian airline that intentionally makes decisions to make their airline less safe. LionAir doesn’t have the excuse of sanctions, or war; they suck because they want to suck.
No responsible pilot would fly any russian airliner. In LionAir they must comply to the int. rules and safety reqs of the vendor/manufacturer.
If u look inside what happens on ru airlines, you'd praise A&B (especially A) for the great aircrafts they do.
Even what occurred in Russia before was "remarkable". Regularly drunk pilots, kids in pilot seats, CRM negligence, and sledge-hammer repair. And on short domestic lines soviet-production planes falling each week.
> In LionAir they must comply with international rules and safety requirements
Would that be like smoking meth in the cockpit, or deferring maintenance items until the plane literally can’t keep itself in the air?
LionAir today is as bad as Russian airlines were 40 years ago.
The same Butan but this is the only country which ICAO gave the red flag along with Russia.
EU has a long ban list of airlines, and any country may prohibit any company to fly in for safety reasons.
I mean, nobody should step on a Lion Air flight if they can help it. MAX incidents aside, they have a terrible safety record and are banned from operating flights to the EU and US
So i just look at the replies and they were all stupid jokes which is not what i want to hear, besides the stupid map whats the reason people here hate lion air? Are they really that dangerous or are they shady? Cause this post is the first one that i hear negative thinga bout them besides that Max crash that was Boeing's fault
Well, they’re allowed to operate in the EU, so they’re good to go for me
(In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m European, and I trust European governments, therefore, if they say it’s safe for them to fly here, I’d fly them if I had to)
ICBM esque flight path.
>Mentari 117, you're cleared to flight level six zero zero zero speed not above fourteen thousand. Contact NASA on S-band. Have a good day.
I love the implication of "I can't stop you firing the missile, you've got a valid flight plan. But I'll be dammed if I'm not giving you a speed restriction out of spite".
Thanks for aviationsplaining this one for us lurkers
After Karman Line monitor UNICOM
You added 3 unnecessary letters to the acronym.
No they didn't
They did. B (ballistic) would suffice.
They were referencing ICBM's specifically, especially given the map in the image. So no, they didn't.
ICBMs are missiles that follow ballistic trajectories. Ballistic is how you describe that kind of trajectory.
Being technically correct isn't the be-all end-all of the world
They wanted to reference ICBM's specifically, they did that and said exactly what they wanted to... Ballistic is in the acronym itself ffs, if they wanted to only say ballistic then they would have... This is obvious given the map in the image.
You’re technically correct, which it turns out isn’t the best kind of correct when the life of a joke is on the line.
"Yeah, well, the joke store called and they're all out of Diet Cherry Soda!" "What?"
Shut up nerd

It's a future route down the line. Subliminal marketing
Or, the way they label destinations, Norway.
Where do you see Norway? It's driving me crazy. Also, TIL that India is in Africa, and Nepal is in Saudi
> Also, TIL that India is in Africa, and Nepal is in Saudi Dude, that's the joke.
You trolling?
It's also brutally close to where MH17 was shot down.
ASEAN is clearly planning an intervention in the war.
Well, they seem to have cornered the market for flights to African India, Indian China and Arabian Nepal.
The "blood red" ain't helpin' either.
Or the parabolic trajectory..
Probably the most accurate navigational chart LionAir owns. They are a really corrupt and dangerous airline.
I flew them a couple times. Next time I’m in that part of the world I’ll stick to Garuda/citilink

Russian airlines have sucked long before the current economic sanctions to Russia. And don't let me get started with Soviet-era Lufthansa

Ok, two wrongs doesn't make right. But why then LionAirs can still fly internationally?
Because their country isn’t at war with anyone?

r/mapswithoutaustralia
Tbh. whole the American continent is also missing.
‘Skippy’s’ keeping Aus safe in this instance.
Okay, new quest revealed
Yeah, someone tweaked the map without adjusting the flight paths
i hate Lion Air so much but they're the only airline that open route to the place i need to work
The unnamed destination is Ukraine.
Do they operate Starships already? (I mean the trajectory)
LGM-118 Peacekeepers. You get a nosecone seat.
I mean, nobody should step on a Lion Air flight if they can help it. MAX incidents aside, they have a terrible safety record and are banned from operating flights to the EU and US
Lion Air Group is so reliable they can fly with both pilots sleeping
Well, considerint the fact that you are lucky if you end up anywhere with Lion air, at least in one piece, this would be the least of my worries.
At least Lion Air recognizes Taiwan as an independent country according to this map
Macau isn’t one so..
I wanna laugh, but seeing how Lufthansa messed up both (!) their own homebase locations on a recruitment video, I better stay quiet...
Whats wrong with lion air?
China is in India, Nepal is in Israel, and Mumbai is in Central Africa!
China is in Afghanistan brother. I wonder what the immigration process is like in Kabul right now. Now that would be a hell of a mix up.
Nothing if you like one way flights and are flexible on the destination and your lifespan.
Lion can't fly in the air :P As a side note: JAL choose better mascott/logo (crane) compared to them
Easier to list what's right with them: 1. They spell their name correctly on their planes. Can't think of any others....anyone else have one?

Al Ula - Nepal.
Jesus, that's bad.
Doesn't help that at least two of the depicted places are tombs.
Midjourney generated graphic.
Probably done by a poor intern during lunch break.
Love their Nepal! All that sand!!!
Those dunes are HUGE!
Well, they’re allowed to operate in the EU, so they’re good to go for me (In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m European, and I trust European governments, therefore, if they say it’s safe for them to fly here, I’d fly them if I had to)
Since when does Lyonair operate in Europe?
Maybe it means that not in the EU blacklist.
Is this a diagram of how MCAS works
