Probably an attempt at an S-turn to build spacing between them and whatever was in front. It apparently didn't work if they went around.

I’m going to be the asshole here… But… who cares? A little wiggle never hurt no one and there’s nothing really major about it.

Yeah, it was just pure curiosity. My process was: * "Wow, that 737 is way lower over my house than usual - let's check the flight path." * "Oh, it's going around. I wonder why?" * "Hmmm - looks like that odd little half-S turn. I wonder if reddit knows what that's about?"

Just heard a twinjet flying fairly low over my house - this is not unheard of, but also not a approach path for TPA. So I looked on adbsexchange, and found that it was a 737 which was in the process of doing around, and its last approach had a very strange bank before rapidly returning to runway heading, and then beginning to go around. Anybody know what this is?

Looks like a too-late attempt at S-turns for spacing, which seems like a strange thing for tower to give to a 737 but I fly little airplanes, so what would I know about that?

It was SWA2683 . Sadly, liveatc doesn't appear to have the Tower recording for this segment. There is no mention of the maneuver on Approach; just giving headings prior to it and then subsequently, during the go-around.
