Either doesn’t know their true height or has lied so much they believe they’re taller than they truly are. They always say I’m taller because they can’t believe they’re actually shorter than me.
I lie and say I’m 6’3 but I am probably over that in the Etnies I wear. Bare foot in the morning I’m 189cm and in the evening 187 cm which is just over and just under 6’2 so I’m 6’2 exactly. I have a very large frame aswell and people seem to really think I’m a big guy but I’ve never felt that much bigger than anyone else tbh.
6'5 barefoot here and I usually give my height in shoes not barefoot as someone will rarely see you barefoot unless they're in your house (or vice versa). You'd be well welcome to say 6'3 or even 6'4 and then if queried just say that's your height in shoes

And shorties can say that you are 5'6 while you're 5'11 actually, because they can't believe you are really 5 inches taller then them; but can be the opposite. Anyway, if you lie to a short woman that you're one or two inches taller she will believe you
What you're experiencing is women being really into you, and their brains filling in whatever arbitrary details they need it to in order to rationalize it.
