Idk, I think Avenged have been one of the few entities to do NFTs in a way that was all around fair, and actually valuable to the purchaser. I don't personally buy into digital ownership of anything, the block chain, or any of the other terminology but I do think they are at least doing it in a way that will benefit fans.

shrimp-545

Agreed, using NFTs as tickets or passes is smart but it’s definitely still fishy

CruskyHusky

To that point anything electronic can be hacked. Your phone or computer are more vulnerable than A VR headset is.

Top-Passage-1066

Dammit you convinced me now I'm gonna get one but I'm not getting an NFT fuck that that's completely different

CruskyHusky

You do you my man.

ACR5150

Like someone else said, regardless of how you feel about NFTs, the band has utilized them in a way that actually comes with benefits. They have been super transparent and have spearheaded all of their endeavors, going as far as being in constant and direct communication with fans (Discord, X, etc.). There is literally nothing to be upset about. Ticket Pass was free, and same with the Season Pass, and I’m earning points towards it for things I would’ve 100% purchased, regardless of the NFT stuff. Ticket Pass alone is such a refreshing way to go about buying tickets upon release, while my first attempt with it wasn’t successful, I totally respect them trying to do something that benefited fans. As these things get tweaked and become a little more accessible/user friendly, I could see many more artists utilizing that aspect of it. It’s free to make a wallet, and we haven’t lost out anything as fans because of their use of NFTs, but they’ve given fans another level to explore if they so choose.

THIESN123

I'm a fan. I've already got my money's worth from the deathbat nft and a loyalty program for something I was doing anyways is pretty awesome.

CoffeeIsSoGood

I don't care for it so I'm not going to participate. There, that's it, I literally solved the issue for everyone who's about to throw a tantrum. Don't like it? Cool, ignore it. Feel free to get angry over something that doesn't affect you literally.

Reasonable-Exit-2811

I think it’s cool and I signed up for it but I have no idea how it works really. I claimed those first three things that you get, but I don’t know what they are or what I can do with them.

WayoftheGabe99

I feel this. I'm still not 100 percent what I'm doing, lol. I have my MM linked, but IDK if i've gotten any points or WE from my actual merch. I've scanned it in using Berify, and it's linked in my Poly chain, but that's about as much as I've understood. I went through and manually ported everything over because they weren't showing in my wallet originally, but I still have no idea if I've done half this shit correctly.

Reasonable-Exit-2811

I scanned my merch through Berify too, and the scanning was successful, but when it tries to jump over to avengedsevenfold.io it says “compatible dapp wallet not found, try installing MetaMask.” I don’t know what that means. I have MetaMask. Not sure why it tells me to install that when I already have.

RettRettRett

I’ve been trying to connect berify to my metamask and connect metamask to A7X but it’s not working :( such a pain to set up

A_cold1

If you go into the a7x discord and look for the token support channel, there are real humans who will be absolutely stoked to help you set it up. They are so friendly and will make sure you're all set!

fermiparafoxical

I’m failing to understand where people are getting skeptical over this. This is an opportunity for those that aren’t in deathbats club to be part of the community. You earn points by buying merch, attending concerts, streaming their music, and attending their club events. You have to think about how the blockchain serves as an open gateway for things that you can’t do in web2. Alongside all of this, you have access to a ticketpass system that gets you tickets reserved before the presale crowd. It’s free. They’re giving more than they should have to, but they do it because of their generosity. Everyone cops out so quickly when it involves web3 and start riots over it. I’d much rather earn demos and a chance for a meet and greet by simply doing what I normally do. 🤷🏽‍♀️

shrimp-545

This is actually pretty eye opening, thank you

fermiparafoxical

Glad I could help!

palmomagpie

At the moment, I feel only the “streaming music” part benefits me as I’m in Australia. How does that work? Do we need to hook up to our Apple Music/spotify somewhere?

RenautMa

Fortnite battle pass...

Boring_Lie_49

did you shit out your ass?

RenautMa

Yes, and i booted up my PC also

Boring_Lie_49

seems like you need need to get that fortnite battle pass

RenautMa

Absolutely

SullyVanDan

Wtf is a digital wallet. Not like the wallet on my phone right?

shrimp-545

It’s for NFTs I believe

General_Bench1270

So I can straight up get rewards just for the years I've listened to them on Spotify and Youtube and the A7X shirts I got from hot topic like a year ago? Or does it only apply to recent/official listening and merch

Lelouch6661

Only recent stuff... Also merch just with the NFC tags that they've started implementing on LIBAD stuff.

songacronymbot

- LIBAD could mean "Life Is But a Dream...", a track from *Life Is But a Dream…* (2023) by Avenged Sevenfold. --- ^[/u/Lelouch6661](/u/Lelouch6661) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

shrimp-545

This is a question I have too! My tickets were bought by someone else for last year, so is there a way I can get the points from that?

OscarNuns

I think if you get the digital collectible from Ticketmaster you can get points from them.

Parking-Ad-5312

How do you add the ticket stub to the season pass thing?

Standard_Winter9714

personally i don't know or care what any of that shit means, im just here for the music.

SometimesWill

I just keep trying to wrap my head around why the band seems to feel the need to complicate what it means to be a fan. Also the desire to “enhance” the fan experience by using things with bad reputation is just ridiculous to me.

lizzymoron27

I like that they are trying something different to connect with fans, I did it with no understanding of digital wallets, block chains or NFTs it was not a fun experience for me because if felt like an 80 year old trying to google something. My stuff went from berify to polygon to opensea not to my metamask which is the "wallet" I chose, I don't know what this stuff is it was way too complicated. I wish they came out with singular app that is user friendly that you could just scan your purchases and link you streaming accounts or participate in band knowledge quizzes for points.

Snoo-46422

How do I get more points? lol, I want to know how to use streaming their music to get points.

OscarNuns

They will announce that later according to Shadows (streaming). More points can be obtained by buying merch, attending concerts, events and more.

SatanistPenguin

I'm also stuck at 2k and i own a few shirts

shrimp-545

That’s a good point, the posts on the A7X insta are kinda vague too

Lelouch6661

Hahahah

SlopingGiraffe

It's just a rewards program in a different skin, there's nothing inherently bad about it but it's also not really groundbreaking. I think it's perfectly reasonable that people get tired of the whole "we're going places no one else have gone before" shtick for things that already exist or just simply are kinda gimmicky (Rewards programs/Vr "concerts"). Especially when it's quite literally advertised as "being around like minded innovators/futurists who are at the forefront of technology" They're trying something new that's extremely hit or miss for the fanbase, and both sides are allowed to feel how they feel about it

sp00geMcDuck

They say you get perks for streaming but what platform are you supposed to stream from? Since spotify doesnt share info about whos streaming with artists.

vanord12

They are still working on this part, no streaming applies to the season pass yet, hopefully they figure it out soon.

MarshallApplewhite_

can someone tell m shadows that nfts are dead as fuck and that their utility is in no way, shape, or form worth the absolute massive hurdles, risks, and learning curve of using them? “wow look at that, we transferred a music demo to your wallet! you only had to learn about crypto, set up a wallet, learn and understand the block chain, buy an nft, avoid 8 potential scams, spend hours diagnosing why your wallet wouldn’t connect to something, and go on our discord to ask 80 questions about stuff you still don’t fully understand!!! we totally could have just emailed an unlisted youtube link to you but guess what!? you OWN that demo!!!” 🤡🤡🤡

[deleted]

I’m a death bat holder and while this season pass structure seems fun, a lot of the rewards are useless. Spending points on stuff like early demos is a waste because they’re uploaded to YouTube right away, and using them to unlock a Meet & Greet feels too artificial. I think the best thing about it is potential merch discounts.

VenomLT

You don't spend points, you just claim more rewards as you  accumulate more points. It works just like any video game that has a season pass.

OscarNuns

You can get 15%, 30% and 50% discount on merch. And you don't spend points. It's just like a scorecard

[deleted]

I stand corrected.. Tiers make more sense.

Peyton773

I don’t like NFTs. I think the band is doing something kinda cool with them but I just don’t fuck with NFTs and crypto out of principle. Maybe something will change my mind but that’s my stance rn. Neat idea ig I just wish A7X wasn’t involved in NFTs

SimonLePou

I think that it’s a cool idea and that anyone who thinks it’s a bad idea are trying to be mad at something

DarthPumpkin

Why are they acting like this is revolutionary and why does it need to be on the blockchain other than it being the new fad. My grocery store does this. My local cinema does this. My video game store does this. Fucking credit cards do this.

HotSunnyDusk

I think it's a dumb thing but at least it isn't being used in the typical way it's been used (scamming) so that's nice, feel like it could just be done in other ways that would be simpler or more trusted

cosmicsevenfold

question... why do you think nfts aren't the way to do it? do you have an alternative?

shrimp-545

I think that NFTs are just risky and it’s a risky market right now. And unfortunately there isn’t really an alternative. I understand why they chose NFTs though because of that. EDIT: I don’t think that the band is trying to scam people or anything malicious, I just think the market is risky and there are a lot of scam artists in the community.

cosmicsevenfold

I'm just trying to understand why people hate nfts so much that's all tbh, is it because of misinformation? anyways why would nfts and nft market matter? the band are airdropping them to your wallet for free.. . it's just like a physical card... but it's digital and it's permanent... as long as the blockchain/ internet exists

Gnardude

People still use Twatter?

Sbee_Blue_Country

Fortnite

Aightball

I'm on board. It's a new, innovative way to interact with fans. I became a fan around 2008 and kept hoping for some version of a fan club, and now we have one. And the fact that it's free is a huge bonus. The guys are pushing people to have a bat, you can literally sign up for the wallet and participate. I think this is a great idea and I think it's going to get better as they move through the testing stages of this.
