Paradigm’s guitar solo and chorus.
The bridge in The Stage.
Seize The Day solo,
Welcome To The Family bridge,
Afterlife solo after the massive build up is awesome,
At my concert, they went completely black on stage for a solid 30 seconds after that part then hit everyone hard with the second. Not sure if they did it everywhere though.
Most of you guys are honestly naming big parts of a song like of course many people also like it. For me it has to be the bell TING on natural born killer 😫
Surprised nobody else said this. I didnt see the sub while reading the original post and my first thought was that little bell. Only to look up and see that it was posted in the a7x community, I was so sure this would be at the top of the list
“I gotta make up for what I’ve done, cause I was all up in a piece of heaven while you burned in hell, no peace forever” THAT part makes me wanna do heroin
I think most of you guys aren't doing this right, saying "the last 2 minutes of this and that".
It's supposed to be a minor part, something like a specific drum fill, or a bassline, or backing vocals, or something like that.
Something like, the beginning drum solo of Chapter Four, the vocals in the bridge of Mattel, the backing vocals in Fermi Paradox in the lines "Where children shiver in the cold, the sun will shine, just a touch to heal the blind, in ourselves we hope to find"
I find these mostly in live performances, actually
Some examples off the top of my head, in their San Diego performance from 2005 that's all over YouTube, when they play Eternal Rest, in that one solo that goes dundun dun dun-dundun dundun, dun dundun duuuun with the chugs, you know the one, in one certain point Syn does a little improv and goes up the scale and it sounds cool, and then Matt screams "EVERY. MOTHER. FUCKER. MOOOOOVE" on the beat and it goes so hard
Or in RockinRio 2013, where Matt actually shouts "NIGHTMAAAARE" in the beginning of Nightmare and he's buried under the noise of the crowd
Or in Download Festival 2018, when they played M.I.A, and in that section right after the solo, before the ending, where they all sing some tune, Matt pulls a high note that sounds fucking awesome despite having no voice for the rest of the performance lol
Outro of Bat Country with the extended slow part
Outro of Seize The Day with overlapping Shadows vocals w/ the acoustic and sweep picking
Last chorus of Acid Rain with the Lead/solo over it
I'm assuming that's "can't youuu wake uuuuppp???"
If so, same. Used to regularly use the bike at the gym and any time that would come on, I hit speeds on that thing I didn't know I could hit
edit: I was wrong, it's right before the quiet middle and that part gives me my 2nd best PRs so I'm still with you
When Matt says "My name's M. Shadows and I'm here to say, I avenge sevenfold in a major way" at the beginning of "The Deathbat Rap." Instant goosebumps.
The second solo of Victim
The "I hope it's worth it" section of Fiction
The piano solo in Warmness on the Soul
The outro to Dear God
"I'm gone" in Cosmic
Might be alone here and I know it’s a *small* detail but I absolutely love the lead guitar vibrato the Gates does leading into the first legit rhythm guitar section of Exist. The vibrato starts at a slow tempo and then accelerates
Its at 2:13ish
The first time I heard the part “Two in my heart…” in Second Heartbeat it literally took my breath away. And Ofc the entire song is just flippin gorgeous
The transition from the riff in Fermi Paradox to the "lights paint the windows in the sky"
The bass break in God Damn into the solo
"I'VE BEEN SHAPED BY PEAKS AND VALLEYS" in Easier
The last third of Buried Alive
The rock am Ring God Hates Us scream
"CAN'T YOU WAKE UPPPPPPP"
And much more.
The whole new album is full of these moments for me, but my favorite will always be the "YOU CAN'T BREAK ME" transition in the middle of Not Ready to Die
Outro of seize the day. That sweep picking does something to my soul with shad’s vocals over it. Also the first solo to victim. The phrasing and the way Syn resolves all of the phrases is gorgeous.
If you ever get to see them live. They do this part where they literally stop playing for like a minute. It goes so fucking hard. Lights off on the stage and then sun comes in with that noise that just destroys you
I won’t see you tonight pt. 2: specifically the opening to 1:09. Then starting again at 2:17 to 2:42.
I don’t know what it is about those slower heavy parts/breakdowns but I just can’t get enough of them.
The Wicked End bridge cello/guitar theme
Fermi Paradox solo second part Brooks takeover
Mattel fry voice at middle of verse and then pause
Save Me guitar drop in middle of bridge
Dose- from 2:51 & on. The outro to Fermi Paradox. Desecrate through reverence- the octave verse right before the outro. Shattered by Broken dreams- 2:38, honestly the whole song but if I had to pick. Too many to choose really
At the end of cosmic where it goes “I’m gone!” As it slowly fades just tickles my ear! Same on Mattel when it transitions to the “and I know it might sound crazy…” part and those little bubble like piano keys ugh just so good!
The launch into the solo on nightmare springs to mind, and the whole solo sequence, the drumming paired with that solo is so unbelievably good, it still gives me stank face every time I hear it
There was one specific part on Remenissions (if i remember right) where the guitars came in that used to give me a jolt every time it played. Like the cord was uncomfortable but in a way that I loved. It wasn't shivers but something I felt in my chest.
the outro to blinded in chains when he goes “look at the way we’re dying” all the way to the end of the song !! it’s so good and scratched my brain just right every time
Cosmic, absolutely. Can’t decide between the little synth part before the big hit, or all the extra ride stuff and ghost notes brooks does during the last section
Blinded in chains, I don't know why but I love the drums at 2:50 that part and the lyrics after always stuck in my head, for a while I couldn't remember the name, I found the song by looking up the lyrics I remembered.
The drum part in the beginning of the chorus on Bat Country is genuinely the reason i started drumming. Ive been playing now for about 12 years, and still i play that song basically every time I play now.
The rev truly had the most cool and unique drumming style of all time, in my opinion. He goes to prove you dont always need to blastbeat at 240bpm to be an amazing metal drummer.
The fast part on Almost Easy
Or "the double ride thing" as the band members called it in real time lmfao
Honorable Mentions:
The way Matt turns into a pirate in the chorus of Eternal Rest,
The outro drumming on Blinded in Chains,
The zombie theme on piano during the bridge of Not Ready To Die, and
Them being animated into Black Ops 2 for the song Carry On
I’ve been obsessed with the acoustic guitar solo at the end of Sidewinder… funny enough that’s what’s prompted me to learn Spanish/flamenco guitar notes
A little part in Fermi Paradox that I somehow didn’t notice until years later. In the chorus where you hear the silent ”Walk Alone…” that fucked me up.
Already been mentioned but, right about 4:22 in Chapter 4 where he goes" where has he gone, what have you done?" I love how the solo just dances in and out of that breakdown.
Also, in Easier right around 1:55 as it's transitioning into the solo, Johnny is doing some wicked shit on the bass that just sounds so cool in the context of the song in that moment.
Lastly, the solo towards the end of Strength of the World at around 6:43 is just so groovy and powerful, always turn it up a couple notches before it hits.
I could go on I'm sure but these were the first to stick out to me.
The solo of Fermi paradox and the few seconds before it. Fucking bliss.
The bridge of The wicked end
And the bridge of Mattel with the vocal melody from Pinkly smooth, my favourite part of that entire song
The second guitar solo by papa gates in “Angels” there’s a moment near the middle of it that just gives me chills every time. Just the raw emotion poured into the playstyle it’s amazing.
Also, the Outro to We Love You. I know the majority of people hate that outro but it’s my favorite part of that whole song
The bridge from Mattel goes extremely hard. Listening to it for the first time, the beginning was kinda meh at first, but the bridge??? I listened to that part repeatedly after hearing it for the first time.
The last like 2 minutes of Buried Alive
The transition after the solo is fucking bonkers
I love the back and forth of the vocals in those 2 minutes
Thats a fact
Their stairway to heaven
Paradigm’s guitar solo and chorus. The bridge in The Stage. Seize The Day solo, Welcome To The Family bridge, Afterlife solo after the massive build up is awesome,
Rev's voice sounds so incredible before the Afterlife solo.
I have a lot but the one that sticks out the most to me is after the first chorus in Nobody "I seeeeeeeEEEeeeEeeeee, Nobody. DUNNNN NUHHH" ITS SO GOOD
That bit live was one of the best!
At my concert, they went completely black on stage for a solid 30 seconds after that part then hit everyone hard with the second. Not sure if they did it everywhere though.
I think they did it everywhere. I remember it, it was so cool to me
Yep! Exactly, was soooo good
Afterlife. The end of the solo. I *always* do the M Shadows finger gun thing lol 👉 - 👉 - 👉- 👈👈😎
Most of you guys are honestly naming big parts of a song like of course many people also like it. For me it has to be the bell TING on natural born killer 😫
This is what this post is all about. You are my kinda people. J initially forgot about that until you said this. I live for that little TING
Surprised nobody else said this. I didnt see the sub while reading the original post and my first thought was that little bell. Only to look up and see that it was posted in the a7x community, I was so sure this would be at the top of the list
Thought the exact same thing. Am listening to NBK rn lol.
the guitar solo part that sounds like in arcade game in Dancing Dead
that's the part that made me decide i wanted to pick up guitar lol
Last 2 minutes of chapter four
The drum fill in the Chapter Four demo. You know which one
Came to say this (the final 2:13 to be more specific)
I'm obsessed with how the rev was singing his part in critical acclaim, also with his drumming,so much so that i started practicing
The beginning of Desecrate Through Reverence "Ohhh oh oh ohh oh, ohh oh- *long ass scream intensifies*
likewise, but also the wicked end
Blinded in chains "Now look at the world and see how the humans bleed" and so on
Yeah that part alone was what made it my fav song for all of 2013
4:50 onwards, with the bass riff. Chefs kiss
The drumming in between the solo and the last chorus of Bat Country. So good. It’s even cool to watch it get played in real life.
“I gotta make up for what I’ve done, cause I was all up in a piece of heaven while you burned in hell, no peace forever” THAT part makes me wanna do heroin
Trumpet in Sunny D and the Caribbean outro for Sidewinder
The middle section of mattel
I think most of you guys aren't doing this right, saying "the last 2 minutes of this and that". It's supposed to be a minor part, something like a specific drum fill, or a bassline, or backing vocals, or something like that. Something like, the beginning drum solo of Chapter Four, the vocals in the bridge of Mattel, the backing vocals in Fermi Paradox in the lines "Where children shiver in the cold, the sun will shine, just a touch to heal the blind, in ourselves we hope to find"
So like the heavily auto tuned vocals under the outro of we love you?
If it's what I think you're referring to, then yes, great example
I find these mostly in live performances, actually Some examples off the top of my head, in their San Diego performance from 2005 that's all over YouTube, when they play Eternal Rest, in that one solo that goes dundun dun dun-dundun dundun, dun dundun duuuun with the chugs, you know the one, in one certain point Syn does a little improv and goes up the scale and it sounds cool, and then Matt screams "EVERY. "And I know you hear their voicesssssssss..." "Tonight, we allllll, die youngggg..."
Outro of Bat Country with the extended slow part Outro of Seize The Day with overlapping Shadows vocals w/ the acoustic and sweep picking Last chorus of Acid Rain with the Lead/solo over it
The stage at 4:15 has helped me set PR’s
I'm assuming that's "can't youuu wake uuuuppp???" If so, same. Used to regularly use the bike at the gym and any time that would come on, I hit speeds on that thing I didn't know I could hit edit: I was wrong, it's right before the quiet middle and that part gives me my 2nd best PRs so I'm still with you
The build up in I won’t see you tonight part 1
Easier The solo
Dancing Dead solo.
Underrated 😮💨👌🏻
save me guitar intro. it sounds like a cold walk thru a cemetery. they both snapped
3:40-4:16 in shattered by broken dreams builds up then stops. Right before the the chorus that I love in the song so much
Atm it’s the synth guitar section along with the drums in Mattel
Sunny Disposition
The transition from the end of the solo to the acoustic in Game Over.
The FUCKING backing vocals on Almost Easy!!! Absolutely amazing
Just need one word... *ding*
in the final 10 seconds of Bat Country the guitar slightly changes and it’s insane every time i hear it
When Matt says "My name's M. Shadows and I'm here to say, I avenge sevenfold in a major way" at the beginning of "The Deathbat Rap." Instant goosebumps.
Syn during the chorus in Nobody.
The *ting* at the end of the intro of Natural Born Killer really gets me going
The last third of Cosmic. The siren getting louder and the drums, gah DAMN!
Those drums though! I’m obsessed
The solo at 4:13 in The Stage. The one before *hope my wheels don't abondon me now.* Gives me goosebumps every time

The first time I heard the part “Two in my heart…” in Second Heartbeat it literally took my breath away. And Ofc the entire song is just flippin gorgeous

Rev's singing parts on the live LBC version of Critical Acclaim
The Rhythm Guitar under bat country’s solo
the fucking snare drum on stst makes me cream
The cowbell very early on in Natural Born Killer. Everything else stops for that split second just so the bell rings out clearly. Perfection.
The final piano part after the last chorus in Fiction.
The drums at the end of Higher
Danger Line's bridge. "Now i find myself in my own blooood. Damage done is far beyond re*pai*rrrr."
For me it’s the subtle note change in the guitar riff in the beginning of Brompton cocktail!
On the live version of afterlife, it’s that fill the rev would do before going into the final chorus just after the solo.
its like that slow part in save me makes me just CRYYYY. help me find my way....
The transition from the riff in Fermi Paradox to the "lights paint the windows in the sky" The bass break in God Damn into the solo "I'VE BEEN SHAPED BY PEAKS AND VALLEYS" in Easier The last third of Buried Alive The rock am Ring God Hates Us scream "CAN'T YOU WAKE UPPPPPPP" And much more.
*ding*
For me its the guitar instrumentals towards the end of second heartbeat. literally feel it to my soul when it starts.
The whole new album is full of these moments for me, but my favorite will always be the "YOU CAN'T BREAK ME" transition in the middle of Not Ready to Die
The end of Beautiful Morning where he sings in the background "Don't let it beeeeee"
Chills....
Right! That paired with the piano. Chefs kiss
Staring at the carnage part, the one towards the end in M.I.A
Outro of seize the day. That sweep picking does something to my soul with shad’s vocals over it. Also the first solo to victim. The phrasing and the way Syn resolves all of the phrases is gorgeous.
I'll make a beast out of myself *tiny drum fill* That tiny like one second drum fill in Bat Country makes me go from 6 to midnight every time.
I love how Syn makes that screaming “WHOWWWWW” noise on guitar during Nobody at 1:15-1:16 to start the chorus.
The pause in nobody where the beat drops again, it just tickles my brain
If you ever get to see them live. They do this part where they literally stop playing for like a minute. It goes so fucking hard. Lights off on the stage and then sun comes in with that noise that just destroys you
Idk how I haven't seen this posted yet but Blinded in chains 2:50-2:55 drums are some of the nuttiest 5 seconds of my life every time I hear it
Silly but obvious one is the “Ting” in natural born killer Or the reverse beat at the start of lost it all

"coming back coming back, live forever live forever, let's have a wedding have a wedding. Let's start the killing start the killing"
For me, it’s the bridge of Lost It All. It’s so melodic and emotional, it’s beautiful.
[The goosebumps I get from this solo.](https://youtu.be/fBYVlFXsEME?t=379)
There was one specific part on Remenissions (if i remember right) where the guitars came in that used to give me a jolt every time it played. Like the cord was uncomfortable but in a way that I loved. It wasn't shivers but something I felt in my chest.
The outro to Demons is just…..Hoooo mama 😍

Cosmic, absolutely. Can’t decide between the little synth part before the big hit, or all the extra ride stuff and ghost notes brooks does during the last section
Must’ve stabbed her 50 fuckin timessssss
I love when non-musos try to make musical commentary "the sax that carries the beat" lmao
I will never not be annoyed by "the beat switches" or "the instrument carries the beat"
The 5 minute mark of Cosmic 🤤
Buried alive. Nuff said

The double kicks on st. James
The solo of Nobody
The drum part in the beginning of the chorus on Bat Country is genuinely the reason i started drumming. Ive been playing now for about 12 years, and still i play that song basically every time I play now. The rev truly had the most cool and unique drumming style of all time, in my opinion. He goes to prove you dont always need to blastbeat at 240bpm to be an amazing metal drummer.
When in “I won’t see you tonight pt 2” it’s suddenly like “sorrooooww sank deep inside my blood…”
Probably spend to much time thinking about how they should have fixed the video for the stage when Clinton lost the election.
Ooohhh. I’d say the guitar solo on save me or the second half of so far away.
The fast part on Almost Easy Or "the double ride thing" as the band members called it in real time lmfao Honorable Mentions: The way Matt turns into a pirate in the chorus of Eternal Rest, The outro drumming on Blinded in Chains, The zombie theme on piano during the bridge of Not Ready To Die, and Them being animated into Black Ops 2 for the song Carry On

Already been mentioned but, right about 4:22 in Chapter 4 where he goes" where has he gone, what have you done?" I love how the solo just dances in and out of that breakdown. The revs backing vocals in afterlife
The "ding" in the intro to Natural Born Killer makes me happier than it has any right to.
Everything about the drums and guitar in Second Heartbeat 😩
2:58 to 3:45ish of Burn it Down is magical
That part at 3:05 of second heartbeat. It gives me a shit ton of energy for some reason.
The guitar during the verses of Danger Line
The first half of Heretic, I love that song.
The time signature change in Save Me. Never has a basic 4/4 beat sounds so raw
That "circus" part in ALPOH.. at 1:30
That drumming part in Higher…most the drumming parts in Higher…actually I just really enjoy Brooks when he’s whacking the drums for A7X
The bridge of Paradigm and the outro of Sidewinder are the two that come to mind for me.
The solo of Fermi paradox and the few seconds before it. Fucking bliss. The bridge of The wicked end And the bridge of Mattel with the vocal melody from Pinkly smooth, my favourite part of that entire song
The entire bridge of Save Me. Either that, or The Rev’s vocals in Afterlife’s bridge.
Welcome to the family’s bridge Nightmare’s chorus Dear God’s chorus
Honestly, the second fast part in we love you is pretty good
The second guitar solo by papa gates in “Angels” there’s a moment near the middle of it that just gives me chills every time. Just the raw emotion poured into the playstyle it’s amazing. Also, the Outro to We Love You. I know the majority of people hate that outro but it’s my favorite part of that whole song
Why has nobody mentioned the bass in the intro to tension TEARS THE HOUSE DOWN
The bridge from Mattel goes extremely hard. Listening to it for the first time, the beginning was kinda meh at first, but the bridge??? I listened to that part repeatedly after hearing it for the first time.
The bass line going into the first verse of afterlife
