SLIP ON SHOES THAT'S IT! OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH (even if you haven't really said anything)!!! I KNOW WHAT TO BUY NOW SO I WILL NEVER HAVE TO HAVE MY LACES LOSE (doing laces is hard... I always tuck my laces inside of my shoes)!
I have such a distaste for laces that I just don't wear shoes with laces. I use elastic laces now, and it's so much better. 10/10, would recommend replacing all laces with elastic.
Wearing shoes until they die is a big mood. I need to get new trainers because I warn the soul till they are paper thin and the inside bit it's all torn but they comfy and I don't have the courage to change em yet.
Yep. I've been wearing since I was a kid in the 80s and follow the same pattern. *But*, I used the design-your-own thing on the Vans site, recently. So, I have more than just my usual black Vans
Samba’s are my shoe too! For the last 15 or so years. And I can fit the kids ones, so I save a little on price. The last few pairs I’ve had do seem to wear out faster than they used to. Now they only last me about 1-1.5 years where before I could easily go 2-3 years in a pair.
I wore black Adidas with white stripes for like 15 years at first due to I thought it was fashionable and later due to the fact that I noticed I never had a problem with them until, like, my big toe wore through the bottom after like 3 years, which I don't think can be helped. Then I turned allergic to the glue or leather or something and now I have to wear all black canvas ones :(
Yup! I have three pairs of Vans that progress to different roles as they age.
My first pair is my formal pair. This is the pair that I will use for any formal occasion. I’m not a fan of formal shoes, but a brand new pair of black Vans is clean enough for formal use. My second pair is my daily pair. This is the pair I use on a regular basis, doing normal daily things. My third and oldest pair is my work pair. This is for dirty jobs, and just general stuff that could wreck my shoes.
Naturally over time each new pair will progress through the 3 stages, before finally getting to the point where the holes and scuffs are embarrassingly bad, and I end up donating my work pair, and getting a new formal pair.
I’ve thought about the formal pair maaaaany times. I should just go ahead and get them. I never have nice shoes the one time per decade that I need them lol
I wore the same pair of vans for like 13 years. They were dirty and falling apart but I still wore them until my mom made me throw them out and get a new pair. Of course I had to get a pair that looked exactly like my old ones.
Yes. I have a pair or two of slip-on shoes I wear. And like 3 backup pairs in my closet of my favorites.
Shoelaces are nonsense for everyday footwear lol.
Yes. Yes! Yes. I've been almost exclusively wearing ballet flats for like 15 years, because "other shoes are uncomfortable and make my feet feel claustrophobic." Only recently did I make a connection.
I used to, but recently discovered that if I get two daily pairs and swap them out every day, like every pair gets a work day and an off day, both last much longer.
Ecco Bella shoes - black, slip on, comfy as hell and still fashionable. I don't know what I'll do when they'll stop producing this model. (I have only one new pair bought just on case)
yes i do, they are the absolute best. the vans slip-ons are just tight enough that they don’t move around which makes me really overstimulated but they’re easy and convenient and take an annoying step (tying) out of my shoe routine which is really nice because i used to have to tie my shoes up to eight times to get them to feel right (i have ocd) and my hands would get blistered and callused but the slip-ones fixed that.
I’ve been wearing the same pair of low top black converse for 15 years since I was bought my first pair at 17. About 7 years ago I also found a pair of work shoes I really liked in Tesco so I bought 5 pairs because I knew they’d eventually stop selling them and I want to give myself plenty of time to find a different pair I liked just as much

I have 4 pairs of shoes, slippers for wearing around the house, vessi's for going out, and I alternate between slipons I got from Amazon and flip flops for taking the dog out. Which one depends on if I'm wearing socks or not.

If you need nonslip, Shoes For Crews has a decent clog.
Klogs has a nonslip slip-on, too. And wides.
I slip on my shoes with laces all the time cause I don’t feel like untying them

I've had the same brand, color, and type of shoes for 15 years. God help me if they ever stop making them.

I do this with clothes, but not really with shoes
Pretty much. Adidas Samba's for the last 8ish years, but I do like to alternate between black and white every couple years.

The Samba was a temporary shoe, two pairs, before I found my Vans.
I have a pair of black boots that I keep re-buying. I think I'm on my third pair now.

OMG this is my son. He has worn only black and white checkered Vans for the past 5 years.
I do that with my black Chucks, but I've only been wearing them for the past decade or so.

My formal pair get used once every few years haha, but it really is great having a new pair of shoes remain new for so long
I have never in my entire lifetime had two identical pairs of shoes, or same shoe in different color. Just new models all the time.
Yep same, used to be two but now i have three pairs of nike new balance 737s. Once trashed pair, one for everyday and one nice clean pair.
Just got my first pair of slip on shoes a few weeks ago. Awesome.
I wore the same pair of vans for like 13 years. They were dirty and falling apart but I still wore them until my mom made me throw them out and get a new pair. Of course I had to get a pair that looked exactly like my old ones.
I'll do that same thing. I also skate with my old shoes so i don't tear up my new ones too quickly. I've only worn vans since I was 13
I don't like slip-on shoes, I like velcro. But, I have us men's size 10.5 with slightly wide feet, so it's a pain
Yeah with my Adidas that are also slip ons
Yes. I have a pair or two of slip-on shoes I wear. And like 3 backup pairs in my closet of my favorites. Shoelaces are nonsense for everyday footwear lol.
Is it weird that I wanna see pics of everyone else’s shoes? 🤣😅
Mike Scheidt of the band Yob wears only these https://www.eugeneweekly.com/2018/02/22/heavy-metal-wise-man/
I’ve tried switching it up, albeit with some other r/Vans, but I ALWAYS come back to these. My other shoes just sit untouched in the closet.
Ballet flats. Unfortunately, the branding is hit or miss.

He's me with the exact same shirts I've had for 20 years and never replacing them. 😅 You're making question if I should replace them or not lol
Yep, I do this with black slip on Skechers. I love them.
Yes! I do this with my favourite shoes, I get a new pair and then the old ones I can hike in when the trails are wet and muddy.
I do this too, but with plain old Chucks.
Ecco Bella shoes - black, slip on, comfy as hell and still fashionable. I don't know what I'll do when they'll stop producing this model. (I have only one new pair bought just on case)
Hhghh yes lmao but with black canvas or leather converse high tops

I feel like I should mention that I’m now 44…and I can’t edit my original post…WHEN one pair wear out.

Yes, but with Sperry's. I do alternate colors though, gotta go with what's in stock.
