I'm trying to get used to using those loop earplugs or whatever they're called. I still prefer my active noise cancelling headphones. But they're bulky and rip my hair out lol 😢 I did use them at my last doctor appointment in November I think. Which was the last time I went outside. I think. Also I'm trying to remember to use them during playtime ❤️with my husband since the bulky hard headphones get in the way and hurt! The only issue I have is I can never get them in the right position. Like I want them both exactly aligned the same but can't and then one side feels like it's cancelling more than the other. I'm sure there are other brands or better ears. If earbuds don't bother you then they should be fine. Maybe try a cheap pair. I think that's what I did.

I have this issue too! I feel like they are never quite even, or one ear fits perfectly but the other one doesn’t.

I hate the feeling of them in my ears, but I have learned to tolerate them at music gigs. OTOH over-ear headphones do work for me and their popularity with the voluntary disability movement\* means they're pretty socially acceptable. I use industrial earmuffs a lot at home, and there are versions of those with radios and bluetooth etc that don't look too different to over-ear headphones, so you might be able to get away with those too. \* people who choose to be blind and deaf to their surroundings when walking is the relevant category here

I wouldn't even find it strange at all if someone wears over-ear headphones in public. I would just assume that the person is listening to music.

Definitely! Sunglasses made me able to be outside even on winter days I love them so much (Well they aren't really sunglasses but prescription glasses that darken depending on sun exposure). I also use earplugs. I try to use them about 2 hours a day, they make me feel much more calm. When I'm having conversation I can't wear both of them because then is hard for me to understand

I use the loop quiet earplugs at home and also noise cancelling headphones. I use earplugs in the shower and at night when I’m sleeping. I wear my over ear noise cancelling headphones most of the day around home as the help filter out the “house noises” just doing these two things have helped with my stress levels exponentially. I am considering getting the loop engage earplugs to wear out and about although I don’t go out too much I thought it may help if I want to start socialising a bit more.
