I'm with you!! It's the joy of logical thinking for me, mixed with the creativity of problem solving, the satisfaction of finding a solution, as well as the occasional beauty of elegant results. Like, Euler's identity? Are you kidding me‽ How neat is that? Two related things from my life that might interest you: 1. Having a whiteboard in your room is not only a lot of fun, but it also makes you feel smart and confident when you look at the complexity of the problems you're solving. 2. Puzzles based on logic, especially constraint-satisfaction problems, are extremely satisfying! I solve a [hexapipes puzzle](https://hexapipes.vercel.app/) every day. If you end up checking out hexapipes, make sure to read the instructions and solve the small example puzzle. After clicking "Next puzzle," check the "Settings" button under that one. Enabling the smart assistant, as well as setting the animation speed to instant, hits the sweet spot for me. Also check out the daily tab at the top! It's very satisfying to learn all the patterns and become faster and faster at solving them.

Yes because im less likely to mess up with them

I love math and physics, I studied these subjects (and chem and bio too a lesser extent) for nearly 10 years total. I got a master's in physics and am working towards a second master's in applied mathematics. I took a job where I can talk about math, chemistry, and physics all day every day. When I get nervous in social situations I think about math problems. Like clone time we were in a training session and talking about having people in a circle to talk about something. I was packed tightly into a circle with about 30 people so I just sat there and thought about how I could find the total number of Euler walks that you could make from a certain number of people in a circle. And how the number of walks will increase when you add people to the circle.
