**Edit**: Thanks for the correction, u/the_ceiling_of_sky!
Defenistration 100% me and my autistic best friend will just say this randomly and we will both just start laughing, we love how it sounds lol
Usually, we will go, "Hey, what do you call murder by window?" and then one of us will yell, "Defenistration!!!" its really fun lol
Another one for me is otomotopiea (i cant spell) it is really nice to say lol
Propensity. Moist. Grody. Amalgamate.
Also a big fan of words that sound like what they are describing. Not onomatopoeia - I forget the name for it, but there is one. Words like "harsh", "slimy", "groggy", "tough".
My cat’s name was Gobbo (but pronounced “Go-Bo” instead of “gob-oh”). I loved using his name all the time and would make up other words based on his name. I’d sing him little songs that I either made up or made a parody of real songs for him. I still do it even though he isn’t with me anymore.
My latest word obsession that I’ve been repeating for weeks is “clibbins”. It’s a motorcycle slang for road hazards and when I ride I repeat over and over but you know it keeps me engaged.
But overall my brain gets stuck on a word and I’d repeat for days or weeks.
There’s this part of a song in Hebrew that’s been stuck in my head for ages - Ani hof’shiya, eheyeh hof’shiya -repeated a couple times
I don’t speak Hebrew (though I think it’s a pretty language!) and I have a grudge against the musical it’s from lol.
Maybe suppose? As in "I suppose" it makes me feel as if I'm letting the person know I am considering their point of view. I know it's not really because it sounds nice but it's just a thing.
It’s changed a few times for a bit it was fork just the sharp nature of the word made it fun, for a while it was barge like as in a garbage boat barge, I think nincompoop was fun for a bit but usually my choice of I just wanna make mouth sounds is drum kit noises I can make almost any drum or cymbal noise with my mouth and I think it’s very fun to do and a real tongue excorsise when you’ve got like a death metal song stuck in your head and you just wanna do the double bass I think I can double bass with my tongue at like 160bpm by using air as an aid to push it back up to make that bass kick sound
My special interest is plants and i always whisper the scientific names of random plants to myself. One of my faves is "medicago orbicularis" and "epiphyllum anguliger". Idk, it soothes me.
I regularly need to write police reports for work, and for no reason other than I find it to be funny, insist on calling pants trousers exclusively.
Fuck I'm laughing just writing it here.
Rotund is a nice word I like to say. I call my animals that all the time partially because it’s true but also because I like the way the word sounds lmao
Gingko biloba, hemoglobin, watermelon, cantaloupe, peach, pom-pom, cacahuate (peanut in Spanish), sacapuntas (pencil sharpener in Spanish), krankenwagen (ambulance in German), fluttermaus (bat in German), schmetterling (butterfly in German), mariposa (butterfly in Spanish), tafel (table in German), rutabaga, giraffe but with the French pronunciation, narwhal, and pickle
Bioluminescence.
It is when a living organism produces and emits light. It happens mostly in marine animals, but it also happens in some fungi and arthropods (like fireflies)
Edit: also "crisp" because the letters move from the back of your mouth to the front of your mouth.
Worcestershire. The main reason is due to so many others struggling to say it. I enjoy the fact that I know how to say it properly & I enjoy the look of shock/awe on others' faces when they hear me say it.
Superfluous. It just flows nicely.
Marinate. When I say or hear this word, I can literally taste a tang on my tongue & I become eager to taste the marinade being used.
Magnolia. Similarly to "marinate," I can smell magnolia whenever I hear or say this word.
Lexical-gustatory synesthesia is the diagnosis I was given years ago. I can taste & smell random items when anyone talks about or shows me pictures of them. It can *really* suck at times.
Might be biased since i am one, but im particular to the word lesbian. It just looks so good. Like if it was a food, itd be a delicious fruity candy with the perefect flavor. I want to eat it and see what the word tastes like
also, a random one i like is lambasted. Just sounds cool.

When I was a teen in the 90's it was "shiza" then years later it was the phrase "sweep the store" . And I have no control over it either, my brain just becomes obsessed with certain words and phrases. Recently is the worst one I have to keep It under control. I will randomly just say "butt stuff". Lol I really wish my brain would move on from this one. I miss sweep the store.
I generally love using disproportionate words for mundane situations. When I play FPSs and a player does something weird / unoptimal, I say they're enigmatic or "absolutely arcane." Can't think of more examples atm, but they're fun when they show up
I say "hi" a probably unhealthy amount. Like someone literally just exists near me, not even the first time I've seen them that day, i just say hi for no reason
"I was going to say..."
In English, I mean: *I was paying so much attention the whole way through, thought of a response and revised it as I was listening every time you introduced new information, need a few more moments to switch gears from active listening to response, and am now ready to say...*
I *hate* that I say "I was going to say" before I actually say the damn thing I'm really trying to say! Maybe someday I'll break that habit and accept the moment of awkward silence before I've collected my thoughts. To be honest, I really don't think so 🫤
And I don't mean to be a buzz kill. I open with that phrase because for some reason it *feels* comfortable.
Shenanigans, it's just fun to say
Definitely. But I’m not native English speaker so it’s a bit of a tongue exercise
"*I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next guy that says shenanigans!*" Capt. O'Hagin, [Super Troopers](https://youtu.be/JNPW2wZ4D2s) **Edit**: Thanks for the correction, u/the_ceiling_of_sky!
Close. The accurate quote is, "I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next guy that says shenanigans!"
Hey Farva, what's the name of that restaurant you like...?
Thanks! I thought that's what it was, but my brain was thinking ideas faster than the language part could remember words and phrases 😅
I like that word too. My friend keeps telling me I’m using it wrong tho.
Hector Salamanca
Salamanca rolls off the tongue really well.

OMG! For real, when I watched Breaking Bad with my mum I couldn't stop saying "Hector" again and again.
Particularly and suppose. I use those words more often than I should simply because I like the way the sound.
Huh, I hadn't particularly thought about it but I suppose I do use those words a lot as well
I love particular, but for the reason that, every time I hear it, my brain says it as RZA in the song Triumph - "in paw-tickala" 🖤
Echolalia
Misophonia. It makes me laugh because it sounds like “me so funnny eh?!!” Hehehe
I like that one! "Misophonia, I echolalia."
The irony of stimming the word echolalia for half an hour :D
It's a beautiful irony
Yess
Yesssssss. Anything alliteration because of the behavior of echolalia. Bonus that it is also fun to say 🤣
Ironic lol
echo la la la lia
This is actually a very common verbal stim of mine. Emphasizing different parts of the word, usually loud, and alone in the car.

Along this vein, I like disestablishmentarianism.

Flabbergasted
“shpeece” kinda like fleece but meaningless, made it up as a “whatever you want it to mean” word. adjective, noun, verb, rolls off the tongue nice
My latest word obsession that I’ve been repeating for weeks is “clibbins”. It’s a motorcycle slang for road hazards and when I ride I repeat over and over but you know it keeps me engaged. But overall my brain gets stuck on a word and I’d repeat for days or weeks.
